God, I'm not sure what goes through the director's/animator's/storyboader's or whatever's mind that decides this. I mean, isn't the role of an anime that is based off of a manga, to animate and be faithful to it? I mean, I can understand changed endings, but...whole, original works? No. Expectations will be destroyed. Also fillers. Gotta love them.

Oh god. Those were like the best thing ever. Bount Arc? Shusuke Arc? That one Zanpakuto Arc? The Gotei 13 Arc? I take my hat off to you Bleach.
But seriously, I think I dropped Bleach in the middle of Bount, because it got so bad. Hah, on the bright side, there are fewer of those kind of arcs in anime these days. Mostly because you rarely see anything lasting more than 26 at most. Thank god.
 
Zanpakuto arc spawned a very hot bishie so I'm gonna let it slide lol. It's probably one of the better filler arcs of Bleach, actually.

And same here, I dropped it in the middle of the Bount arc- no wait, I skipped the Bouny arc immediately to the Arrancar entry arc, but I got tired of it so I dropped it.

The shows that suffers from filler arcs are mostly long-running shounen. Although, to be fair, at least their fillers are either random side stories or individual arcs that don't take place in the middle of arcs.

We should be glad on the anime production's choices to only animate a series for 1-2 cours. Although, there hasn't been a new mainstream shounen anime for a while now (by mainstream I mean Bakuman's term of mainstream), or maybe I wasn't really paying attention.

Oh, what's that? You're in Hueco Mundo, just finished a battle against an Espada? Hey, there's a new captain for division 3 so deal with that shit at the Soul Society first before you go back to beating Arrancar ass.

Hey, you're ready to battle one of the most powerful Arrancar? Well the Shinigami's zanpakutos are now sentient and walking around so take care of that first before you go back to your battle.

Makes zero sense, really.

DBZ: the king of elongation. I think Captain Tsubasa also takes the cake there. From what I've heard, they made the last 5 minutes of a match last a whole season? I mean...how..?
With that infamous 'the world will be destroyed in 5 minutes but takes 20 episodes' fiasco from DBZ, at least theres some coherent(?) plot. But...soccer match? What?
 
I'm trying to wrap my mind about extending 5 minutes of a soccer match into a full season haha. That sounds ridiculous. Is that even true?

DBZ's fights take up an entire cour. Can I be the millionth person to say that the fight with Freiza being a battle that's OVER 20 EPISODES in Dragon Ball Z Kai is kind of where I draw the line with it. Why do battles take a millennium in the remake?

I'm surely not in the mood for a '5 minutes transform into 30 episodes' arc. I had enough with Captain Tsubasa back in my days.
