No, but I REALLY want to know what show your avatar is from because it looks painfully familiar.

Also, I'm very very hurt that no one has commented on the section splash yet. I worked so hard to make it pretty for you guys :'(

There was a member on here who was...at least, I'm pretty sure. It was brought up a few times. And you don't have to worry about it dying since some of its entries feature HanaKana. Satoshi will surely flock to its aid.

As for me...I have some experience with it. There's a good amount of Idolmaster music in Nico Nico Douga medlies, which are really important to me so, by extension, I know a good deal about Idolmaster musically...though that's more the games than the anime. Apart from that...not really, though there's just the largest horde of art on Danbooru. Probably Safebooru, too...maybe. Hopefully.

Looks nice, nice and concise. I like it, though I gotta say...I'm gonna miss the old splash. This one has everything right there, though, and the rectangular shape fits a lot more as a splash.

He looks really familiar to me too but he's not anyone I know. He's from a manga called Umibe no Etranger that I haven't personally read, but I liked this illustration I found. And I actually really like the splash! I noticed it and I like the background especially <3

It might have been me lmfao I need my Idolmaster fangirls

Satoshi please don't fail me

I just use straight Funi as my sub source, since, well, I've already paid for the subscription.

I've been lazy about diving into the franchise. A favorite member of mine from back in the day was basically obsessed with it, and it's through him that I know it has an online game of some sort.
I'm mostly worried it'll suck up all my anime money like Love Live! did and continues to do, though. I keep browsing TOM and finding more merch that I want to buy.

I haven't looked at the splash in like 4 days.

I like it. Loads much more smoothly than the old splash on this weak little laptop I use for the intenret.

I haven't been visitting this section. Whoops.

Then again I haven't even touched my anime pile for at least a month. I should really get started on tbe Summer 2015 list. <_<

Also the new splash looks amazing :D

yeah, I watched it with a friend of mine from another forum. I think it was pretty good. I don't have much to say about it though. Miki was my favourite, that's all.

Lel, you guys.

Eri is a 876 Pro so her appearances are limited...
Though, liking Im@s is a must for everyone so it could bring others to watching it =D
(And no, I haven't watched it yet xD I still wonder if I should wait for games or start with anime xD)

I've been thinking of starting that for a while now. Haven't seen an idol anime till now. Not Love Live!, not this. Or anything else. But I heard "Berserk" author Kentaro Miura is really big on IdolM@ster so I think I'll give it a shot anyway just to check out what he likes about this series XD;

You wanna see idols? watch AKB0048, or Idolmaster.

I have been studying a lot lately :(, gimme a break of RL

I'm pretty sure there are games, though? Just not console games. I think the games for it are web games.

Also, I'm going to be watching K-On! (first season) for my 200th completed anime. Do I get the DVD on sale at $22.59 now or do I pre-order the Blu Ray at $42.99 and wait until September 1st for it to arrive? It's entirely possible I won't have attained 199 completed series by September 1st, but it's also entirely possible that I will (I have 6 series to go, and I've got 3 for sure picked out and it's just a matter of finishing them).

I'm pretty sure I will like the series since I already like what I have read of the source manga, so buying them is pretty much a guaranteed thing. It's just a matter of if the Blu Rays are worth the wait and extra money instead of getting a different series or the second season on DVD? I've got $50 in Amazon gift cards available, so I'm going to be spending that much no matter what.

Something I just started pondering...

Do anime studios buy the rights to use the manga's "script" word for word to have a faithful adaptation? Or does the anime studio just credit that all of the story was made by the mangaka and they still get paid for producing the animation?

The mangaka is credited as the "original creator" and I think possesses a veto power. But the animation studio handles everything - how many episodes are to be used to animate what part and how the budget is to be allocated and how the scenes are directed and so on. Its like this, usually, for manga-to-anime adaptations:

>Mangaka writes manga.
>Manga goes somewhat popular and publishers think its popularity can increase if it gets an anime.
>Either the manga publishers pay money to the production house for animating the said series or the production house come of their own free will and are ready to invest money in the series due to its potential.
>They make anime. Mangaka is credited as the original creator and gets royalties while the story is mainly handled by the person who writes storyboards for the anime specifically. Hence, there are a lot of anime which deviate from the manga.
>The anime earns money from the TV airings and DVD/Blu-Ray Volume sales. Production house keeps money and pays a decent deal to the publishing house and the original creator.
>Usually anime boost manga volume sales so it helps the publisher too.

So yeah, that's how it is. At least that's how I think stuff works from what I've read about things in the animanga industry.

Interesting, makes sense. At least that explains why animation studios can basically copy the manga word for word, if they wanted to, without it being plagiarism.

For any source material of an anime, really.

Hell, it applies for any licensed adaptations in any medium, really. Not limited to anime.

Also, bringing this forward since it got hidden on the last page with no answer and I need some help deciding:

TL;DR: Blu Rays and wait, or DVDs and no wait?
