Up, Up, and Away!

Most airliners don't offer food anymore unless you buy it. I bought a snack pack to & from Hawaii and, while filling, was not worth $10. The good ol' days was when they used to offer those delicious hamburger things or salad or anything. :'( That is definitely something I miss when flying.
I don't think I even had that option last time, at least not on the plane itself.
(But of course they were still selling alcohol. No food for you but here have some booze.)

I didn't fly enough when I was younger, so I have no idea what I missed out on regarding that.

I'm probably the only 26 year old on earth who has never flown in his entire life. I've never gone anywhere far enough away that it would require flying, and the thought of flying kind of makes me nervous (with the stories of that stomach feeling during liftoff and whatnot - I hate that feeling on things like roller coasters).

I'm sure I'll fly at some point in my lifetime, but I just don't see myself doing any traveling for the foreseeable future.

not that i've had the money to fly to my neighboring town let alone across the country/to another continent for the last few years, because i don't, but the last time i experienced flying it wasn't pleasant

cue me having spent 40 days travelling across america and finally about to go home when to my wonderful surprise the plane fails to take off! we waited a couple of hours, naturally in-flight entertainment can't be turned on and staff aren't allowed to supply food but it was all done in the promise that we'd be taking off soon
wrong!
something was wrong with the engine which couldn't be fixed immediately and so i began the journey of being stuck in LAX for two days utterly broke and staking claim to whatever chair was closest to the power plugs, ready to scratch the eyes out of anyone who dared to so much as glance at my complementary carton of milk
cue me ready to slap the life out of the faux-peppy american airlines representative who dared to tell us that $10 was enough to hold each person over during the meantime, when a single bagel costed $7
that **** would have had to ask shenron to piece herself back together if the 200 other people in the area didn't threaten to sue to oblivion
luckily the power of angry rich white suburban families coming together for a cause other than gentrification was enough to make american airlines fork out even more
so two days later i got home but i will never step foot in LAX again

i enjoy flying so long as i have the option to be distracted by food or entertainment at any opportunity, but i absolutely loathe airports

I don't mind airplanes, but I have a fear of heights so I can feel really anxious when going up. But once I'm in the air, I'm fine. I love seeing all of the clouds outside my window, its so magical.

I've actually only been on a plane twice (to Pennsylvania and back) but it was a pretty fun experience. I got to be a flight attendant for the plane ride back home which was awesome, I got free snacks and drinks lmao.

I'm flying to Houston in about a week. I'm nervous about it because it's gonna be my FIRST TIME on an airplane. Experiences from other people have been helping a bit.

I rode in a plane when I was four years old. We were going from Colorado to West Virginia as my nana passed away, I think. I could be wrong, though she did die around the same time as my plane ride.

I don't care about flying in spite of having a very avid fear of heights. Being on an airplane feels like being in any other regular location, except that it's a little shaky sometimes. But unless my body was actually physically flying in mid-air, then I have nothing to be afraid of.

And even then, I'm not really scared so much of being in mid-air as not being able to control it. Just being thrown around uncontrollably through the air or having some feeling of a lack of stability is what causes my fear of heights.

Although honestly, it is a pain in the ass. Security checks and then being stuck in an extremely cramped tiny space for hours at a time. It is very tiring. So I'd rather not fly on a plane. I just wish we could fly on more spacious areas instead of these horrendously compressed tubes with a gajillion other people. Even when you pay a fortune for a ticket. I know there's first class, but we can never afford to pay another fortune. Oh and the ear pressure is ungodly too.

Well there was that one time when I was inside a rescue helicopter. I couldn't really appreciate the view, though, because I had to deal with a bleeding forehead. Back then I was, like seven years old.

I can't really say it was fun and I suppose it's one of the reasons why I don't feel too comfortable when it comes to heights.

I love it. There's just this incomparable sense of adventure whenever you're at an airport with your luggage and stuff getting ready for a flight. I've been flying pretty consistently for the past two years with my long distance relationship, and I still get a little thrill when the plane takes off and lands.

I've never been afraid of flying, but when I went on vacation last month my flight was scheduled in the middle of a pretty nasty ice storm, so I hit a lot of turbulence. It was a little nerve-wracking, but I just keep reminding myself that there's a higher chance of being in a car accident than a plane going down, haha.

Oh, I have a funny security check story too. My boyfriend was going back home after visiting me, and on his visit with me he bought a PlayStation Move which he packed in his carry-on luggage, and when he went through security they had to search through his suitcase (which included some pretty intimate items lol...) and the security guy took his PlayStation Move wand/controller, and was fiddling with it and was like, "They always hide the shotgun shells in these things..." lmao what.

Also, I was patted down for the first time on my last trip too! That was pretty confusing lol.
