i have never liked valentines day mainly cause for 25 straight going on 26 years straight of being single i guess you can say i'm lonely :(
 
Hmph. Valentine's Day. Another day with origins that have been lost in antiquity because it's been commercialised into the fiery pits of oblivion...like Christmas, only useless because it's not a public holiday.

Valentine's Day is meh for me...even each time I've been in a relationship during it, neither of us made a huge deal about it. Though we did use it as a nice excuse to go out do something. Guess I've just never been big on holidays for things that you should (hypothetically) do all the time, like appreciating your significant other etc.
 
I'll do Luvdisc for POTD if I remember, but otherwise it'll be a normal day for me too, probably. Unless I actually act on the impulse to contact my kinda-sorta-maybe-ex...but I don't need it to be Valentine's Day to do that. In fact, that would probably be the WORST time to do it, haha.

I kinda think the spirit of these holidays is violated by the expectation of gifts. I don't need it to be a particular day to buy someone something...and it being a particular day only puts the pressure on and makes the gift an obligation rather than a heartfelt thing. Mother's Day always stresses me out because I can never think of what to buy. I buy birthday and Christmas presents months in advance for the same reason.
 
I don't give a damn about the commercialized aspect (although sweets are nice), and especially not the forced romanticism part of Valentine's Day. I don't even care that I'm single, but I have a history of having to deal with peoples' romantic feelings for me I can't reciprocate around this time of year.

Like many holidays, I don't even know its original meaning, but for this one I just use it as a day I can show my love for my friends. Friendship love is far more important to me than stupid romance.

Ambipom is fantastic. It's definitely one of my favorite Pokemon to use in game haha. I remember the first time I used it and it was a blast.
 
I'm just waiting on "Corporation Appreciation Day" now. Give it a few years. It'll happen.
 
I'd love to relive my childhood, but modern cartoons, toys, holiday TV, and pretty much everything else is of substantially lower quality than what it used to be. I'm so glad I'm not growing up in this era; I'd probably be even more depressed. We're celebrating earlier so we can get the holidays out of the way, and spending more because you really do get what you pay for these days...if you're lucky.

EDIT: Jeez this thing moves quickly. Also, 3k posts. Yay?

As the only person who uses a customised font in this thread right now I suddenly feel under siege...

...oh well.
