I have a ton of different playlists too~! Spotify has lovely pre-made playlists also, and a "Weekly Discovery" with hand picked songs for you that most often work surprisingly well with your tastes.

Except for the past two weeks. I think I've been listening a bit too much to a friend's particular playlist and my weekly has been influenced by it.... lol
I've never actually tried spotify or anything like that...is it just for mainstream music, or does it include things like soundtracks etc. as well? :3

Most of my new discoveries come from specific sites which upload stuff on a regular basis, or related videos on Youtube...I don't get all-new stuff I wasn't expecting very often. xD

TRY ME! Say something you really don't think is on Spotify, and I'll see if I can find it (; Warning, my dad has really weird odd old music taste and he has yet to find a song I couldn't find on Spotify.

Well alright, while there are TONS of movie soundtracks there, there aren't as many VGMs. Sadly. But yeah, I have several lists filled with only movie/game music~

I listen to so much music at this point that it's hard to keep track. I'll also listen to pretty much anything even though there are plenty of things I really don't like. but usually there's something in every genre for me as long as it isn't, like, bro-country, or whatever Imagine Dragons are. the attitude that modern pop uniformly sucks is kind of misguided, but obviously different strokes for different folks. I used to think that way so I get it. I Get It. I Really Do. but yeah I listen to a lotta things.
i like imagine dragons :(

My iTunes library is slowing getting filled with Doctor Who audio plays from Big Finish. Have 4 different sets now.

Alright then...see if you can find "Dokkin♢Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure!" and/or "Competing with the Honor of the Land" from the Tales of Zestiria soundtrack. You might find the latter, but I doubt the former will be on there >:3

I don't have a huge amount of movie soundtrack, so I might check it out...gives me something to do when I want to browse and/or post and not painstakingly micro-manage my iTunes. I really should sort it all out, but I have nearly 3500 songs and a ton I've not added yet...I don't wanna D:

My music playlist is such an mix of random stuff at this point that I couldn't really point to any one genre and say that it's my favorite. I like a lot of rap, pop and some symphonic metal and electronic, and there are a few more. I've never really encountered a type of music where I can straight up say that I dislike the entire genre.

By the way, today I will go to learn driving car. Hope it's fun!
All my friends started learning to drive over a year ago and I'm just sitting here like "I don't own a car, guys."

Spotify is one of the most valuable purchases I've made. I use it so much, but the only struggle is switching between it and my music that's not on iTunes. It's certainly a great tool/recsource for a music nerd such as myself!

Is Spotify transferrable on say an iPhone or something? Like can the free version do that, or do you need to buy the enhanced version in order to get those features?

Well, the iPhone app for non-premium users treats it as sort of a "shuffle service". For example, you can play songs from a specific artist/playlist but it's shuffled and you have limited skips (which you can bypass by restarting the app, which can be rather bothersome), and you can use its pandora-esque service. But, with premium, you have access to its entire library plus downloading offline.

On the topic of driving, sadly I'm not old enough to get a license in the first place. I usually get rides from friends to get where I need to be, though. Looking forward to driving in the near future!

So if I was to get the premium version, would it allow me to play music in whatever order I want (i.e. bypass the shuffle stated?)

Yep! You have all the functions of a normal music player with premium, plus a bit more =)

Swee dealio. I'll definitely have to check that out then, I have an addictive nature in terms of buying music so this sounds like a slightly cheaper scenario for myself.

idk why but i could never really get into spotify, i've always been team pandora.

I prefer Pandora myself tbh. Though I really haven't been using it as of late :[

I use Pandora occasionally instead of my iPod since it mixes in a few things that I don't have, but that's it. I paid 99 cents for Spotify for three months since that was a no brainer deal and I got some decent use out of it, but I still don't care much for streaming services at this point. I'm old school and like to buy my music :P

Paying for subscription services really rubs me the wrong way...I don't like buying licenses; I like buying products. I guess that might be why I've never looked into these things, even though the free service might or might not be good enough for me sometimes.
