valentines?

What have you guys got against a celebration of love tho? I mean being turned off by the maketing/ads/etc I get but seriously what's wrong with there being a day for giving, receiving, and appreciating affection?

Because we're all so ****ing cynical due to the fact we can't get any affection. :P

We are all forever alone because people have too highof expectations

I think it's easier to be happy for people who have a relationship they'd like to celebrate rather than hate the fact that you're alone. Is it really that others have too high of standards, or that you yourself hold people to high standards? What's holding you back from appreciating the fact that people are happy in their relationships? Keep in mind that I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who is not in a relationship and doesn't do Valentine's Day (besides candy sales ahaha).

The fact that acting how/being how people want is not enough. The high standards is beauty. Not everyone is a role model type and so people like that tend to be alone.

It's not really necessarily because it already occurs two months earlier; Christmas, you know? It is ultimately a celebration of human kinship during the harshest time of each year, not very different to Valentine's.

I've never really bothered about it personally since I never had a single really close friend so far (*sob*), yet this year I could celebrate it with my girlfriend and I have absolutely no idea what to do .~.

But as you said, Christmas is kinship and familial love. Valentine's is romantic love. And that's nice too.

I mean, celebrate it however you want or don't celebrate it at all. All I'm saying is that there's no reason to hate on it. Because all I see from people hating on it is people sulking that they can't get a date and taking it out on people who are happy about their own dates.

Valentine's Day? Ah, I can't wait. This year will be the first year that it means something to me. I can't wait to spend it with my love xD

I'm just not so sure it makes a real difference. Probably just me.

I don't like Valentines Day. People who love each other shouldn't need a "holiday" to show that they do. They should be able to just give them gifts on any random day. It feels like companies use it to get more money.

That being said, I don't like it. I usually just avoid the media and people in general.

never celebrated valentine's Day. It's a normal boring day for me.

I'm actually a bit excited for Valentine's this year because it's the first time I've ever had a significant other for the holiday. I'm probably gonna take her out to dinner and buy her a bottle of wine. ^_^;

Last Valentine's Day I received a teddy bear with chocolates from my girlfriend at the time. This Valentine's Day I don't know what will happen. :p

Never celebrated this day whatsoever. It's good for those who are together, but not for those who aren't, unfortunately.

4 me I might snag some1 this year n go on date with her

As I get older the concept of Valentine's Day becomes increasingly non-existent. Sometimes I feel like it's an excuse for girls to ask their boyfriends for things...No offense to any females out there x: Just my opinion.

Valentine's Day is every February 14th lmao. No idea if it's based in America, or a worldwide thing, though.

Well, in Korea it's certainly a thing. There are also all sorts of junk holidays like White day, Black day etc... (I believe White day is a thing in Japan as well)
