IMO the first Mystery Dungeon games (Red & Blue rescue team) are still the best ones, their story is really good for a spin-off game.

I'm holding off on both Turtwig and Chimchar until I finally decide to do the Ash playthrough on Platinum. :b It'll be a while yet though since I wanna doit while I'm watching through DP in which I need to finish Johto and get through Advanced first.

That said I'm probably not going to have a starter on my team, whatever it's gonna be.

I usually feel more comfortable dumping my starter in a new game. I usually fall out of love with them at some point and my starter becomes more and more forgettable as I play on. Expect Typhlosion of course, but it gets exception status for being my favorite Pokemon.

I sometimes feel using your starter is too unoriginal for me.​

I usually keep my starter, but I did stop using my Chesnaught in X/Y because my team got too crowded. xD

As for Ash playthroughs, I always do that in Pokémon Yellow! It's fun to not evolve my Bulbasaur and Squirtle. :3

I totally agree with Lycan. Heck, I could probably spend hours digging out every single Sandshrew post at Pokémon Trivia in 2015. (Despite 90% of those posts involving doom and/or ice cream.)
