I just can't seem to enjoy these new series more than the good ole man to days... And ash needs to stay, everyone knows and loves him.. But maybe pushing red back into the anime might shake things up...

Reverting Ash back to a rookie in Unova was literally the worst mistake the writers ever made. No wonder they all got fired come XY. Although I'm still unhappy at XY for making Serena have extremely slow development to the point that's where all the hate will be pointed at when the saga ends.

I know right? They must have wanted pikachu to seem weak because a new trainers snivy managed to KO it...I'm a master ninja, can't help it... And about Serena, I can actually understand the slow development... Her thoughts were clouded by her crush on ash, I mean that's the whole point she left home

See, while the nerf to Ash wasn't good in my book, the writers more than redeemed themselves with the excellent setup and pacing for the Plasma vs Rocket war. Not to mention, it was great that they were willing to do things differently and ignore old formulas.

4Kids are terrible, terrible dubbers, but my thing is that I just can't get adjusted to the voice cast. There was something about the quality of the original voice actors that fits the character's appearance much more than the current English cast.

I did like the few moments when the Unova saga made references and interaction with Ash's long history at least. Like the episode where he recounted his time with Charizard. Call it nostalgia bait, but at least they acknowledge all of the other sagas still happened instead of forgetting Ash's history all together.

Why the hell are there so many ninjas today... I had to delete my post three times in a row now.

I think a reason why Serena's Showcases arc is so slow is because you only need three Princess Keys to get into the Master Class as opposed to 8 Gym Badges to take on the league. Serena was introduced to Showcases late into her journey so as a result she was messed, and she's already getting hated for mostly being Ash's love interest.

Exactly, reds such a dynamic character that he might be able to make people love the main protagonist a bit more...besides the older generation will love reds return

I kind of liked Ash when he was a little bit more indignant in personality. He seems too nice to me now. Red in Origins had a bit more of that young, naive, reckless, trainer quality that Ash has slowly lost. But, if that's to maturity more than a change of writing, than perhaps I could be persuaded.​
