1. grass. anyone who knows me knows that grass is my first favourite type and i've always stuck with grass starters every single generation and probably will always do so. grass types are just severely underrated despite their weaknesses and i love the designs of a lot of them.

2. ice. another really underrated type. unfortunately Game Freak kinda screwed over the ice type by making more defensive 'mons when ice sucks as a defensive type and excels more offensively (see: kyurem-b/weavile/any other offensive ice-type 'mon). it is what it is though, and i appreciate the type for the gems that it has.
 
Ghost, Water, and Normal-types. A lot of my favorite mons fall into one (or two) of those types in most cases but, if I were to rank them I'd say it'd be like water > ghost > normal.
 
I would choose my top favorite is Fire then next is thunder.
Fire is very destructible. and even can damage a bit to dragons.

normally i would say fire but i think fairy stole the spot since their introduction lol pink is my favorite color........can't resist having a lil pink babey on the team and i love fairy moves and it's so nice to have another counter to dragons. also did i mention pink
 
My favorite would be ghost type.
 
I think in recent years it's become poison/bug. But like 5 years back it was dragon and psychic.
 
I'm kinda amazed my most favorite type, Poison, is pretty popular. Sure, not many of my favorite Pokémon are Poison-types, but the overall aesthetic of poisons, toxins, and acids is just so appealing to me. Plus, it's represented by the color purple, which is always a plus.
 
My favorite type is Water-type. My all-time favorite Pokémon, Starmie, is Water-type and typically, I always enjoyed the parts of the core games whenever water was involved, whether it involved surfing or fishing. I was always fascinated by the sea and sea creatures when I was little. To be able to own Pokémon based on sea creatures was a great thing for me ever since.
 
If I didn't make it obvious elsewhere already, it's Ghost. The type has some of the most interesting-looking Pokémon I've seen, and some of the cutest too - just look at Mimikyu! Ghost-types have also been very useful in pretty much every playthrough that they have been in my team, because they counter the annoyingly common Psychic-type.

My second favourite right now is Electric, because of its varied designs and, again, its usefulness against pesky Water- and Flying-types. Like Ghost-types, Electric-types have accompanied me in almost every playthrough. Strangely, I was practically oblivious to it until I replayed Let's Go last year and used both Pikachu and Raichu. It was so satisfying!

Honorable mentions: Steel (because bulky chonkers I can rely on), Poison (because it's also a bulky type and it's fun to inflict poison status, plus my favourite ever type specialist uses them), Fire (because I tend to pick Fire-type starters so they're almost always present).
 
I love the fairy type Pokémon, they're so cute, and my 2nd favorite type would be ghost type, I love all the the spooky Pokémon :)

My favorite types are Water and Ground(for obvious reasons) and Poison. I think the Poison type aesthetic is just so cool, and the fact that they can hit Fairies super effectively is nice
