What was your first Pokemon experience?

Oh wow. I think it was the trading cards haha. I remember seeing friends at school have them and i thought they were the coolest things on Earth. A kid had a shiny holo gyarados and the other kids were amazed by it so i naturally had to get into the card game haha. We never played the actual tcg but we just collected cards. Then I begged my mom for pokemon yellow and the rest is history.
 
it was a long time ago but i think it was when my dad bought me some trading cards when i was a wee laddie, mostly to keep me quiet when we were in the car..
 
When I was a kid the pokemon red and blue games released. At the time I didn't have a gameboy, but I begged my parents for one.

Finally they bought me one with pokemon yellow, which I had not heard of. Turns out I became one of the cool kids that had a pikachu just like Ash in the anime >w>

Been in love with pokemon ever since.
 
I don't remember very well what was my first exposure to Pokemon (I was like 7 when I first got into Pokemon), but I'm pretty sure I encountered the trading card game and/or the anime before the games. Strangely enough, I've been far more interested in the games over the years than the TCG or the anime. Though I'm tempted to read some of the manga.....
 
My first experience of Pokemon was on holiday, I made a friend who was playing Pokemon and the first time I watched him he was at the island with the Onix statue in FireRed. When I returned home I purchased my own copy of FireRed and then I truly fell in love with the series. I don't quite remember how but I managed to obtain Pokemon Crystal, I played it for hours on end and managed to beat Red which made me so happy lol. But then I brought Pokemon Emerald and my passion escalated to a whole new level. Most of you guys know the love for that game so I don't need to go in to detail :). But yeah I have purchased almost every game since and it's amazing how a person i'l probably never meet again has changed my life for the better.
 
My First pokemon experience was the first movie..i mean i did saw a few episodes from the first season anime and as a kid i really loved it but I could not follow the series at that time and missed some Important episodes like ash catches a new pokemon an what not so finally I decided not to continue to see the series.
After the first season was over the first movie came out and my friends told me they are going to see it and that i should go with them to see the movie and you know Because I stopped watching the anime i did not know if I will enjoy the movie but i decided to go anyways...and the first movie was great i really enjoy it, it was very exciting to watch as a kid , and after that i really wanted to start watching pokemon agine.
and i also got that mew promo card that really got me into collecting the cards and playing the TCG
 
I don't know, but it's probably either the anime or the games. I was just flipping channels around the television, when I stumbled upon it. I liked it, but I wasn't going to watch it regularly or anything. Before or after that, I played some bootleg Pokemon game for the GBA. I got LeafGreen soon after.
 
I'm fairly sure my first experience with Pokémon was with the cards back in 1995/6. I remember seeing a new booster set that wasn't like the others and I immediately opened to reveal my very first, first edition, holographic Machamp. I'm pretty sure I was hooked from that point forward!

Soon after came the anime, then the games, I believe.
 
Anime. Then i search in the net "Pokémon" and i see a bunch of games. I downloaded fire red.
 
I believe my father bought some Game Boy pack for me and my brother than included Pokemon Gold and Silver, and that's my first memory of pokemon as far as I could remember.
 
I first discovered a Pokemon comic of Ash's Pikachu vs Brock's Onix when Pokemon first came out in the US. I wasn't even seven years old at the time. How I remember this... I have no idea.
 
I was 4-5 when I first saw the anime. Then 2-3 years later I saw some kids playing a Pokemon Game on a Game Boy and I wanted one too. Then, after countless hours of begging, my parents got me a GBA with Sapphire! I still remember when they came home with my GBA. I was so excited!
 
the first time I ever encountered pokemon was when I friend of mine had come over and was playing fire red. he asked me to grind his lv50 charizard in the grass next to celadon because he was bored of doing so. (I don't blame him, it wasn't the smartest place to grind now that I look back on it) of course I refused because I had no idea what he was doing. a couple weeks later I got hooked on what was my sisters red rescue game, and I haven't backed away since.
 
I remember being 8 years old going on 9 and I remember getting hooked into the show after the very first episode. Not too long after that my parents got me a gameboy with pokemon blue version. I can't remember exactly when I got pokemon blue version though. It was definitely between 1998 and 1999. I remember getting red version for christmas though.
 
I was like 9 a the time. I was watching the Pokemon Johto Adventures and I was so stoked for it. that was my first experience
 
I think my first experience with Pokemon was that episode when Charmander joined Ash.

Or maybe I just can't recall anything else beyond my 5th year on Earth. Eh, whatever. :/
 
The TCG. Every kid at my school had and traded the cards, even though nobody knew how to play the game xD Those days... Somebody ripped me off by trading my shiny Gyarados for a bunch of trash cards like energy and jigglypuff and oddish xD
