Just as the topic says lol. How old were you when you discovered the internet? What was your first find upon discovering the possibilities the internet actually provided you?

For me, I can't actually remember that far back. >< I think I was around fourteen when I started getting involved with the online world. Now, I'm so addicted to it that I can't be without some sort of contact to the internet.

I think my first internet discovery was during my obsession with Jamie Kennedy. I joined a forum based on him because I was so into him at the time. This was long before I discovered anime and that PC even existed. XD

I was two. And it was in Japan. My uncle brought me to one of those internet cafes, and he spent hours showing me the internet. I didn't really know what it was, but I certainly found it amazing.

When I was 2 or 3. Although we lived in a 3rd. World country, my mom introduced me to Internet puzzles since I enjoyed doing them irl so much.

I never used the internet until I was 14. I was at my cousin's house and he showed me a music video he made in Windows Movie Maker. So I asked him to teach me how to make videos, soo my very first day using the internet was just spent gathering random images off Google. A few months later my dad bought a computer, I got on it and was searching for more things about video editing, and I ended up coming across YouTube back when the site was first starting. I signed up for it and got really heavily involved with the youtube community (back when they actually had a community) and video editing.

I was definitely 9 years old when I first found out about the internet world and logged on myself for the first time. I just remember searching randomly on Google for "pokemon" and found a whole bunch of stuff, such as my discovery of Serebii and Psypokes, and much more. I found a site to activate Pokémon Red/Blue glitches as one of the first things. Then I eventually found out about FireRed and LeafGreen through IGN much before those had their release here in America, and before the commercials of those games began running on television as well.

I was around 5 when I found out about the internet and I kept playing games on nick or cartoon network until I found Runescape around 2 years later which was all I played for like 5 years before it started going down the drain. (I never even maxed out any skill after 5 years of playing sadly)

The internet "world" as such, with fandoms, forums, memes and games, I didn't really find or experience until I came to PC. This site was my base from which I discovered the rest of what the internet had to offer step by step over the years.

    Thank you, PC :3

Oh goodness....I would have to say that I was around 9 years old when I "discovered" the internet. I used it for gaming purposes, and still do haha, I may first used it to find help for The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask, though I can't remember. I love the internet because it connects everyone in the world.

I'm glad that I'm living in an age such as this, look at all the information we have at our disposal. It's a great thing :).

In 2001, I was 9 years old playing on Neopets and entering AOL chatrooms. A few years later, I found myself on Myspace. I used to go on websites like Gamespot or cheatcodecentral or serebii, maybe even newgrounds around this time. In 2006, where I would be 14, I joined Pokemon forums for the first time.

    ICQ anyone?

I can't remember too much of my first adventures onto the internet because I don't remember there being a point before being exposed to it or my introduction was so mundane that I can't recall it.

I used to play Quake with my dad a little when I was young (less than 10). I used the internet in primary school to research projects. I played Everquest (an MMORPG) when I was 12 or something. Around the same time (not sure if much older or younger) I was on gaming forums and navigated through information on the web when it was mostly crappy Yahoo and Geocities websites. I did have my own crappy Geocities website - dedicated to FFVII, of course.

When I was 7 years old. A friend of mine had showed me a game on her computer and at the time my family didn't own one and I was desperate to get one. My dad bought me one about 2 weeks later and I didn't stop using it at all.

I think it was when I was 11, probably after I first got my PS2. Googling Pokemon lead me to the site known as Serebii.net, and back then my and my brother were restricted to only one hour a day at my father's laptop.
I was 12 when I first had a regular internet connection to my computer, while I first joined a fandom/forum/y'know at the beginning of December 2008.

I think I actually knew that it exists when my computer teachers taught us about HTML back at the 5th grade (but just the basic ones), but when we were given the chance to use it... yeah, I wasn't brave enough to Google Pokemon. xD

Now I can't live without the internet, since my closest friends are here. <3

Wow all these people with super-specific start times. My parents met over an older version of the internet, so the internet has always been accessible to me from the moment I was capable of pushing buttons on a computer. When I was very young I believe I just looked at Sailor Moon pictures online.

The first time I can actually remember using the internet was back in 3rd grade, which would've been late 2000-early 2001. I honestly don't know what we were using the school computers for (I can only assume for research), but I remember one of my friends showing me Neopets on there, which I thought was pretty cool.

We didn't get internet at home until at least a year later, and all we had was AOL. I didn't use it that often since dial-up was so slow, but I still have some good memories of some of the kids sites AOL used to promote, haha.

It was in school for me, in early 2000 or so (computer class) & in the school library, mostly for research and printing... I didn't like the internet back then, there wasn't much variety on the net - I didn't even know about Google back then.... early 2001 when I first had internet at home and I got hooked. Has it been that long, almost 14 years ago.

We got out first computer in 1997 and we, like everyone else, signed up for AOL. AOL was my first taste of the Internet and I thought it was amazing. There was so much stuff to look at and read and do it was crazy... but it was AOL. You had to wait to connect. Sometimes, you couldn't connect. I mostly liked to play kids games on Nickolodeon hahaha D:

The only thing I could remember from the early beginnings of my internet obsession was that my sister had made a ridiculous email account for me, and that's what catapulted me into the internet. Needless to say that email gave people some laughs, but I grew out of it once I got into middle school so with that being said, I think I was introduced to the web relatively early. Can never remember a single instance from my childhood though; I'd estimate around 9 - 11 years old?

I remember first using a search engine when I was around seven or eight, and I typed in 'pokemon' to Google. From there, I began to discover websites with loads of information regarding the games. What really got me hooked was when I found a forum dedicated to the development of a fan game - I believe it was called Pyrite, but can't be sure. I digress, the fakemon I fell in love with, and from there, I joined a handful of Pokemon sites to find more fan games similar to Pyrite. That's also what got me interested in creating video games, haha. n__n
