I don't really see it as a fail at all. I've had mine for a few months and I like all the games I've gotten so far. Also, DKC comes out today! :D
3DS has a far greater game library than the Vita, I personally only got it for pokemon then after having it found a huge amount games that interested me and also my family have had lots of fun with it aswell (ended up buying a 2nd one a month later for sister to use)
Let's face it, no matter what happens I can't see Nintendo abandoning the Wii U. It's not like it's make or break for them, the 3DS is doing so well they could stop making the Wii U tomorrow and be perfectly fine. They'll have to make some tough decisions over the next year or so... it's going to be interesting to see.
It's a shame that Wii U isn't doing so well because imo PS4 and XBox One don't bring anything unique to the table that isn't completely outclassed by PC (graphics, processing speed, etc). I'll probably end up getting a Wii U just for Smash Bros. and Metroid, but honestly I don't expect a ton of quality titles to come out for it. Just doesn't seem like Nintendo cares to invest in it. 3DS seems to be their main thing these days.
Well, the PS4 just came out there so of course it's going to sell a TON of consoles in the first few days as preorders and release hype run their course. It's not a good time to make a comparison. (And if you must, I'd make the comparison between the PS4's sales in the last few days since its release and the first few days of the Wii U's initial release... but even then, the economy is fairly different so they wouldn't be that comparable.)On the note of the Wii U's fail, I was looking at the sales in Japan and, in two days only, there were around two times more PS4 sold than Wii U since the start of the year. That's quite sad and funny in a way lmao.
I got my Wii U at launch, when Wind Waker wasn't even announced. I liked Lego City and Nintendo Land a lot, and 3D World was freaking fantastic. Even though I'm really critical of the Wii U and skeptical of its future, I have enjoyed the games I've played on it so far, and honestly regret purchasing it a lot less than I do my Vita.I think most of the Wii U owners I know pretty much only bought their console for Wind Waker so once the novelty (can you even say it's a novelty when it's a remake?) wore off they just never touched it again, really. :(
I can't really judge them though. I love the hell out of my Vita but I only own like 4 games for it and I barely touch it but then turn right around and whine about the lack of games coming out on the system...
