my tale of woe

when i was a kid i got much taller than all my friends the same age, very quickly and extremely noticeably
and there was one time where i went to an amusement park as part of a school trip and i wasn't able to do like half the kid rides they could bc of my height
and so i had to sit with the teachers for most of the day and they ended up taking me on some of the bigger/adult rides because they felt guilty LMAO

I'm too tall for my car so I have to sit in it with the seat allllll the way back. So my car has basically turned into a coupe + what little space is left behind the passenger's seat in the front. Also, I still hit my head on the roof of it from time to time. Fun.

Honestly, I'm 19 years old and 5'4" and I enjoy being short. I feel like tall people get a lot more s*** for their height than short people do. When a short person is teased about being short it's about how cute they are for being so petite, but then tall people get compared to bulky buildings and big animals and it's just like..it's not the same kind of teasing. My sister is tall and she's always been considered un-feminine for it, just kinda irks me because literally people have no control over their height so being an ass towards them because of it is just so disgusting and pathetic.

This kind of thing just really gets to me. I see it the same way that I see people trying to compare the social struggles of being thin to the social struggles of being fat. I understand being told to eat a cheeseburger can be annoying and might even hurt some people's feelings, but I promise you it's not the same as being called a 'fat *****' by total strangers in public or getting made fun of at the gym because you're bigger than everyone else

Anyways, I don't think I've ever really faced any real issues for being short, mainly I just can't reach things a lot of the time lmao

My friend takes speed bumps way too fast and also used to drive a very small car. My head was constantly pressed into the roof which resulted in much pain whenever a bump came up.

They also had to lower the ceiling fans here when we moved in in order to prevent me getting scalped.

I have been super short my whole life. Only 5ft 3in now. There is a picture of me in my Jr. High yearbook where I don't even come up to the shoulders of a girl of normal height. I'm as tall as her now, but, lol.
