Da Weekly Zhak-date
Just like I promised, it's another Weekly Zhak Date.
This is a big one.
So we've gotten past the first route and for that I commend everybody. All the posts were enjoyed and we're hoping for another set of posts as good as the first.
That said, the new route implements quite a few new features that weren't present on the peaceful Avance Trail and the weekly Zhak Date is here to explain them to you :)
Our Snazzy and fashionable new enemies
We'll start simple, and with that, the introduction of a central plot for the players to to gravitate to. While not essential, we hope that interactions with Team Cinder can both, bring the players together and help them expand upon their own individual plots. As we progress, more will be revealed about the dastardly team and their plans and wrongdoings. With each encounter with them, it will become clearer and clearer why you should be concerned with them. Whether your character ignores, takes them on, or even helps them, is entirely up to you.
As we all know, the most exciting and most anticipated part of the hype for a new pokemon game is seeing the swag of the new evil team. So without further ado, the grunt outfits for Team Cinder...

I know, the subheading the right choice ;)
Odd Jobs
No, these aren't missions that only Oddy can do. These are the ones with the weird "Repeatable" and "Open" tags in front of them. While my Co-GM has thoroughly explained the star missions in the route post, I'll be explaining the other two here. The key thing about both is that they are able to be done by multiple different people. Whether you JP or not, you can have multiple people on the job for an open mission and not even bump into each other. There are two key differences between the two though.
First are Repeatable. Repeatable missions are actually rather ironically named. I'd instead call them continuous, since rather than being set to completing the prompt and receiving a prize, you can 'continue' to do to do the mission and 'continue' to receive the rather small reward at the end.
Enough with the semantics though, time for Open missions. Open missions differ from
"So I'll be meet you in Santalune at..."
As we move forward, time will of course pass.
Our journey through Santalune forest will take around 3-4 hours IC, so when we finally arrive in Santalune it should be no earlier than 6PM. Since everything is scaled up, things will take a lot longer. For those that have played X&Y, taxis will actually be useful for something other than finding Lumiose's forgettable shops.
Ironically this is the shortest section.
TM to your HM, HM to your TM, Funk
Excuse the Kendrick reference, I couldnt help myself. So this will be another shorter section, since there isnt too much to explain here. Once again, over to the other GM.
Every stage the wild pokémon will have different "levels". These levels are arbitrary and only serve to signify which moves a pokémon may know upon capture. A pokémon freshly caught may know up to six moves, up to where there level is on their natural learnset.
Pokémon in Santalune forest may be up to but not above, level 7.
Also...TMs!!!
I think it was said a while back but to re-iterate in short:
- Pokémon in pokéballs are data.
- All of a pokémon, including moves and attacks, can be expressed as data.
- Data for attacks can be copied and loaded into disks called Technical machines TMs.
- When a pokémon is in a pokéball, that pokéball can interfact with the players pokédex.
- A TM can then be inserted into the pokédex and if the pokémon is compatable, the move will be, quite literally, uploaded.
So for all those who have been wondering what moves your newly caught Pokemon can have...there you go. Despite the title HMs wont be necessary, nor will they be moves you cant remove. That would be dumb.
Karma
Admittedly, this does seem a little harsh, but it seems like too interesting an opportunity to pass up. Whether you do them or not, the events that happen in missions do still happen. Each week in the Zhak date, we'll have a news report detailing some of the larger events that
With that said...
"Welcome to the Kalos Daily! Today's breaking news, Santalune city is on fire! The source of the spontaneous forest fire is currently unknown, but authorities are currently on the case. As of now the flames have spread across the northern side of the forest, with word being that it is almost certain to eat away at a large chunk of the woodland before the its able to be put out. We'll keep you updated on that story as it continues.
In other news, the Cyllage museum saga continues. Mega auctions have taken over the news over the past several weeks, but the conclusion to the story seems to be drawing near. Famed company Silph co seemed to be in the bidding, with promises that should they win the bidding, the renovations done to both Ambrette and Cyllage could make the town rival that of Lumiose city. Many are excited about the idea, but detractors of the idea arent just hiding under a rock. Local funding is helping, but the company are struggling to hold any sort of resistance to Silph Co's mega empire. We'll have to wait and see how this story develops.
With petty theft comes an affected economy it seems. Aquacorde city's grocery store seems to be struggling to find its berry and food thief. With most of its food now contaminated, they've had to throw most of their stock away. Santalune's own pokemart have been the first to step forward and provide funding and stock, but what does this mean for Santalune's own stock? Inflation in Santalune looks on the horizon.
Our final peace of news today, Snowbelle city gets its first peak of true heatwave in over a decade. More about that, when we get to the weather. Thanks for watching"
Here are a few of the effects as a result of missions you have or haven't done:
- Neglecting Aquacorde grocery store : Prices of items in Santalune city are increased for a short time
- Stopping the fisherman? Fisherman who catch for produce were able to catch more fish and support
Aquacorde grocery store get back on its feet faster
- Stopping the ruin manic: People were able to grow more crops in order to help the grocery store and the noisy maniac is gone, allowing some of Aquacorde's wildlife
to return
