  • Pokémon SoulSilver - Zephyr Badge

[h1][/h1]Hamlet, Revenge! - You can no longer use Poison-type Pokémon or moves.
LOCK DOWN: Ground Barrier (GLOBAL RULE) - You can no longer use Ground-type Pokémon or moves for the rest of the game.

A young trainer starts his Pokémon journey. Partnered with Maw the Totodile, Xander did his job as an errand boy for Professor Elm and brought him the very Mysterious Egg. By the time he was back, Maw has gained a whopping three levels, which made the first battle against his new rival, a guy whose name apparently only consists of random arrows, rather easy.

Back on Route 29, Xander got an (unskippable, ugh) tutorial how to catch Pokémon. Time to add a new friend to the team! But who? I didn't really feel like catching a Rattata/Pidgey/Sentret/Caterpie and The Rules ruled out Zubat, Geodude, Bellsprout and Ekans (and also Sandshrew, which I was hoping to add to my team later in the game). Instead, I decided to catch Lightning the Mareep, who would be a great asset against the first Gym Leader. But first, Xander has to prove he's worthy by defeating the Bellsprout sages. This trial was definitely more challenging than the Gym that came after (but was a great opportunity to grind Lightning a few levels to get Thunder Shock). The elder sage thought Xander would do fine in the Gym Challenge and only moments (and three Thunder Shocks later), the Zephyr Badge was in his hands.

Another notable thing that happened is that I got Joey's phone number, which I will surely be going to regret later.

    Now, onward to room 28!

  • Whew. Was a long road ahead to Lavaridge, but we finally made it! Thankfully the global no-ground-types-or-moves-allowed restriction was put in place after I already defeated Wattson, so Geodude did its job. (b' ')b Boxed him and headed back east of Rustboro to pick up Ralts, my 5% or less encounter requirement. Was highly considering Skitty, but it's been ages since I used Ralts' line and I wanted more move/type variety on my team before anything got booted again. Especially against Norman haha.

Flannery went down without much trouble! Team is as follows:

    317.png

    Noms [m] lv. 27
Strength, Body Slam, Poison Gas, Sludge

    279.png

    Okeep [f] lv. 30
Water Gun, Growl, Supersonic, Wing Attack

    281.png

    Lady [f] lv. 26
Shock Wave, Confusion, Calm Mind, Psychic

    263.png

    Zigzagoon [f] lv. 3
    Tackle, Growl, Cut, Rock Smash

Excited for what the future holds. I'd like to move to room 29, please.

  • Alright, lets start this play through!
    Rules:
    - The good side of the Law: You can no longer use Dark-type Pokémon or moves for the rest of the game.
    - LOCK DOWN - Ground Barrier (GLOBAL RULE): You can no longer use Ground-type Pokémon or moves for the rest of the game.

So starting out Ekebn chose Tepig as her starter (thankfully I avoided the fire global rule). She named her Petra and quickly ember'ed the whole competition, including Bianca and Cheren, up until she received a Pansage, who she named Alois. Together, Ekebn and her pokemon easily swept the gym and the gym leader - taking particular glee in ridding the gym of its purrloin problem. Ekebn may be trying to redeem herself from her less-than-savoury past, but that doesn't mean she can't take out her frustrations on evil pokemon, and everyone knows that cats are evil! Speaking of, she had briefly fought some green haired maniac early on talking about pokemon voices and owned a purrloin. The glee she took in putting down his cat aside, she hoped she didn't encounter him again. She was having enough trouble going on this journey to begin with without having to watch over her shoulder for creeps. (Not much to say really, White starts really slow).

Tackle, Tail Whip, Ember, Defence Curl

It's fine, no rush. Don't worry!

Okay, so I must add a Grass/Poison Pokémon or a carnivorous Grass type on my team, but also not a Poison type. Hmm... that complicates things. I suppose Parasect is technically the mushroom, no? And since it has taken over a bug thingey and is consuming it from the inside, that totally counts as carnivorous, right?

Onward to catch a Paras then! I'll figure out why the culprit was the gardener later.

    Part 1

For this challenge, I'll be playing in White. It seems like in my first rule I won't be able to use Ground-types, what a shame. I'm sure I'll get around Elesa in some way, but for now, I chose Snivy as my first partner and named him Attila. There aren't many interesting Pokémon in the beginning routes, so I kinda just rushed to Striaton to obtain the monkey and my badge. Named the Panpour Leo and went to challenge the first gym.

Attila grew a lot with the trainer battles early on, and he was able to take down Chili's Lillipup and lower a bit of Pansear's health before Leo came in and Water Gun it to the ground. Easy. Waiting for other challenges now. :) (I just hope I don't get nuzlocke rules or something)

For my next move, I think I'll go to Room #28.

  • Soo, we're back and this time we have to dump 80% of money (Around 120.000 pokes, sad) and half of my items. Thankfully i have 99 super repels so i dumped them all, dumped a few of the status condition cures, and also dropped 10 flying gems that i bought for some reason, lol. And we're going to Coumarine, but before that we grind a few lvl and Rose already learned Petal Dance so it's evolve time, also the same for King that evolves into Tyrantum. When we reach Coumarine as usula we scurry for items and we found a razor claw vendor, one rare candy later and Nightfang evolves into Weavile. Then we face Serena and her pesky Greninja (This time she's going down after one petal dance), and we defeat everyone in the gym with ease because Lt.Ducky now have fly. Few moments later we faced Ramos, his team is bulky and Lt. Ducky can't sweep because of the setups he used, unfortunately for him bulky defense is not the same as bulky sp. defense as Rose's venoshock starts to kill most of his pokemon, and Mega Venusaur got killed by Mary's Psychic so.. yup that's it for this section.

    Current Team:
    Lt. Ducky, Lvl.46 (M)
    farfetchd.png

    Karate Chop/Fly/Knock Off/Agility

    Rose, Lvl.40 (F)

    Water Pulse/Bite/Surf/Water Gun

    Mary, Lvl.37 (F)

Now, with Elegance. Onward to Room#10 (if i can, otherwise i'll go to room#16 first)

  • Pokémon SoulSilver - Hive Badge

[h1][/h1]• Hamlet, Revenge! - You can no longer use Poison-type Pokémon or moves.
    • LOCK DOWN: Ground Barrier (GLOBAL RULE) - You can no longer use Ground-type Pokémon or moves for the rest of the game.
    • Gardener is the killer - Put a Grass/Poison-type or carnivorous-like Grass-type Pokémon on your team. It must stay there this whole segment and must take part in the battle with Gym Leader/Trial.

From Violet City, Xander journeyed south. Besides Lightning's evolution into Flaaffy, not much interesting happened on the road to Azalea City. It appears the Union Cave is very boring if you're not allowed to catch Ground or Poison Pokémon. In the Ilex Forest, Spore the Paras joined Xander's team as the ferocious carnivore. He split some exp. with the stronger Pokémon when battling Team Rocket in the Slowpoke Well, but still didn't get to spectacular level (and training him against level 5-6 Pokémon would be one hell of a job). She did help in bringing down Bugsy's Metapod nevertheless! Omelette, who only just hatched inside the Azalea Gym proved to be a useful asset as well... by taking one hit of U-Turn, hehe. I will probably train him later, if I don't suddenly get a rule that prevents me from doing so. Oh, and Maw evolved too!

    Now, onward to room 24!

  • Tough new rule. I'm not used to thinking too far ahead when playing Pokémon games. Tried to adjust my team and moves to the best of my ability for Norman and Winona in the near future, but couldn't make changes to every party member's movesets due to limited TMs and difficulties leveling up too many Pokémon at this point in the game.

    279.png

    Okeep [f] lv. 32
Water Gun, Growl, Supersonic, Wing Attack

    317.png

    Noms [m] lv. 28
Strength, Rock Smash, Poison Gas, Sludge

    281.png

    Lady [f] lv. 27
Shock Wave, Confusion, Calm Mind, Psychic

    345.png

    Groot [m] lv. 22
    Astonish, Ingrain, Acid, Secret Power

    263.png

    Zigzagoon [f] lv. 3
    Tackle, Growl, Cut, Rock Smash

Planned strategy for Norman was to have Pelipper use Growl to lower to the attack stat and swap to Swalot to use Rock Smash for additional defense drops (taught for this battle) during his maaaany turns of using Yawn to try and put my mons to sleep. Fortunately for Truant, I was able to make great use of Growl. 👍 First attempt was a bust (was so close!), but the second time I managed to get him down with just Pelipper and Lileep remaining. Many, many Growls and Rock Smash defense lowers later.

For Winona, I picked up Lileep, which I'll hopefully train like crazy to get Ancientpower. I also plan to make use of Kirlia's Shock Wave. Swalot's Poison Gas should come in handy too, especially since I couldn't use it against Norman because it would power up Facade. :x

    Room 27, please!

  • That was kinder on me. I left the same trainers undefeated from before just so to not take too much exp away from the rest of my Pokemon. :x

Chose Alakazam as my partner/detective/murder machine. It proceeded to get easier when it learnt Psybeam, too. Only tricky bit was a Supersonic'ing Magnemite of t he rival. Outsped everything in Morty's Gym. Caught the Sudowoodo thanks to the freeze from Ice Punch as well (in the box).

    PART 4

For this segment I had to get through with only female pokemon; in other words, I had to box all of my team except for Hellion, and since I need to have a Yellow colored pokemon on my team, I had to catch another one as well.
I followed the Professor back to Aureous City, this time to take a ship to Sabulo Island where I'll find the New Elders. I arrived to Sabulo, but the bad guys weren't there yet, so in order to make the waiting shorter I took the Sabulo Tower challenge to get a Mega Ring.
Before the challenge I needed to fulfill the empty space left by yellow guy Fine lad, and found an Elektrike who I called Striker, she evolved a little later while battling some wild pokemon. (Yes Manectric is cataloged as yellow)
I was challenged by a fisherman and he gave me his Good Rod as a reward, which I used to catch a Krabby I called Viola.
While I was beating the Tower challenge and obtaining my Mega Ring, Hellion evolved and the bad guys have already woken one of the legendary titans who had gone rampage. I immediately confronted them, and after failing to stop them they escaped.
I was later gifted with a Kanto starter holding it's respective Mega stone. I can say I was both lucky and unlucky there, on the one hand, the pokemon was female, on the other one it was the fire type starter, so I was still unable to use her.
I later surfed to Valoon town where the fourth gym is located; Viola evolved on my way there.
I had to follow the Pokemon Rangers after they headed to Nemesis Cave to check if there were people injured because of the tremor, luckily there was nothing wrong. On my way to Nemesis Cave I fished a Feebas I called Narube and evolved her immediately.
I later participated in the Bug Catching contest where I met the next gym leader, he won first place with a Beedrill, while I got third with a Beautifly.
I challenged his gym, and Hellion sweeped most of it with Aerial Ace

    Team

    Bloom/Beautifly [Female] lvl 23
Moves: Mega Drain, Stun Spore, Morning Sun, Air Cutter

    Narube/Milotic [Female] lvl 27
Moves: Splash, Tackle, Surf, Dragon Tail

    Viola/Kingler [Female] lvl 35
    Moves: Protect, Surf, Cut, Stomp

    Striker/Manectric [Female] lvl 34
Moves: Spark, Odor Sleuth, Discharge, Bite

    Hellion/Staraptor [Female] lvl 37
Moves: Roost, Double Team, Close Combat, Aerial Ace

    Gym Badge Count
    4

I'm getting hungry and there's food in Room #32, so I'm going there

    Part 3 complete

caught a male koffing first since is a pokemon that can be found in caves in other generations, went to castelia and continued the storyline and went to the sewers and deeper to the relic passage and found inside the cave it's partner, female roggenrolla (god things its evolution line is rock only). Then went to the gym and fought every harlequin trainer and defeated them with only the new couple and also defeated the gym leader with them. Still have to rename them.

    return/charge/thunderwave/thundershock

    mrs judson the psyduck

  • So after asking user: the_fast_reader to pick 2 pokemon to continue this crazy world, she picked Machop to begone from the squad and brought in Croagunk, a welcome addition.

Needless to say now that I can evolve Pokemon the power comes naturally, although both Gyarados and Floatzel knowing Dark moves did not really help with my plan to bank on Gardevoir
but in the end THE GOAT OF ALL POKEMON carried hard again... save me

After beating the gym leader, Ekebn left the gym in high spirits, only to get mugged by a group of masked youths. When she woke up, she was in a laboratory with a women called Fennel, who had brought her in after finding her unconscious in the street. To Ekebn's anger, when checking her pockets she found that the youths had stolen Alois the Pansage, though thankfully had missed Petra the Tepig's pokeball. Having undertaken similar illicit activities not that long ago though, Ekebn couldn't really grumble too much, recognising the hypocrisy.

After helping Fennel gain some dream mist as thanks for the aid, Ekebn travelled to Nacrene City, catching Seteth the Patrat and Linhardt the Audino along the way. The gym leader was no trouble for her, easily sucumbing to Linhardt's secret power and the fighting prowess Petra, who evolved into Pignite during some training on the train tracks. Everything was going smoothly, although she did have that unwelcome run in with the green haired maniac before entering the pokemon gym. Although she swiftly dispensed with his team, she couldn't help but feel an ominous sense of dread as he walked off, muttering about legendary dragons or other such rot.
