  • This episode seemed pretty hand-wavey to me. :( How did they get into the other world? Why did Shiro disappear in the other world but still exist in the original world? How did she hear him? Why does getting rid of someone's memories make them incapable of moving? IDK ANIME.

I had just watched an episode of Gokukoku no Brynhildr where a girl erased a boy's memories from when he was a baby, so he only remembered how to lie there, so I guess I just assumed the same thing since I didn't actually think about why until you pointed it out. xD I really don't know. Maybe because "your memories" includes everything like knowing how to breathe? I have no idea.

The world was created by the elf's magic, I think. And I dunno about separate worlds, I could be understanding this wrong - but I thought that Sora erased his physical presence and everyone's memories of him, so his body disappeared and nobody remembered him, effectively "erasing" him even though he had been part of the world in the first place. Steph didn't react to Shiro touching her boobs, as it was Sora who ordered her to fall in love with him, not Shiro. If this had been a separate world then Shiro would have been the one to order that, and I guess Steph would have reacted differently.

I can't answer the other question. Sibling connection, maybe ?_?

  • How did they get into the other world?
    - they were playing a game. with an elf beside them. elves are beings with strong magical capabilities. it doesn't seem like an impossible task for an elf to create an alternate space where they can play their game in total isolation and away from anything that'd distract them/break their concentration.

Why did Shiro disappear in the other world but still exist in the original world?
    - she didn't disappear from the other world. she was still present in the alternate world/space created by the elf. she only went back to the original world (not the REAL real world but the fantasy world of tet) after defeating the opponent and "breaking" down the spell that was sustaining the alternate space. at least that bit is pretty damn clear if you watch the part where the world/space literally breaks down all around her.

    How did she hear him?
    - it doesn't really have to be him. the REAL Sora. Her bonds with her brother are so strong that her subconscious mind stopped her from taking that action. it was as if Sora spoke to her when, in reality, it was just her strong bonds with her bro that enabled her mind to command her not to do it when she was just about to go forward with it.

Why does getting rid of someone's memories make them incapable of moving?
    - we don't know how rules in Tet's universe work. for all we know, all the inhabitants forgetting a particular individual due to some circumstance could lead to the individual itself being wiped clean from the world. remember, this isn't the real world. real world's common sense and laws aren't necessarily applicable here.

At least, that's just what I think. :D

Because it's like removing their brain (but not physically so), rendering them a vegetable. Though I wouldn't call it incapable of moving, since the anime kinda just showed them fainting or blanking out xD

But we're born without memories and don't immediately blank out.

    Spoiler:

I didn't say they were dead, though o: I guess I chose the wrong word when I said 'brain', but it's not physically damaging the brain when memories are wiped out, but more of like the subconscious/psyche, so like a part of you (as in your personality/soul, and not your body) is gone which I think should be severe enough to cause a mental blackout.

  • I dunno man. At this point I kinda just roll with whatever they throw at us. :(

Maybe "memories" didn't just include experiences but like.. the brain remembering how to function?

    Was there even another world?
From what I understood it was just enclosed space within the real world.

I got the impression that it was another world overlaid on the same world, thus why she could sit in a certain spot and change the tiles. Idk though.

When is the new episode coming out anyway?! I wanna see moar.

OH, and some of my FB friends are having a huge debate on the scientific aspect of the shiritori game in ep 6. Which is why I'll rewatch the episode today and read up on the earth's structure a bit in order to verify whether or not things made proper sense. I DID think most of it did but they're not convinced yet.

I think so... At least Coulomb Force was valid =D

That's what I meant by enclosed space.
I wouldn't categorize it as "world", though.

...Was a pretty nicely packaged episode.

    Amazing stick figures.

    Amazing foot-licking scene.

    Jibril's amazing fascination with onsen.

Sora's amazing request to become a girl.

Sora and Shiro's amazing NEETness. ;)

  • LOL nice. I love how the Virtual Reality program and what the Werebeasts think as the future is the Tokyo Metropolis. Cultural differences indeed.

I like how this series takes into account such differences in priorities and how it can affect which technologies get advanced hehe.

Look, I got a sneak peek of the next No Game No Life Episode:

  • I love on how the episode is Sora being confident that he'll win the game this time...

    ...and then, Modern Tokyo setting.

Cue them curling up in a ball.

  • That was freakin' hilarious. XD; I got spoiled before hand somehow (oh wait IT WAS THIS THREAD although it was my fault so ehhh) but I really enjoyed it still. XD; Their confidence just got destroyed. Annihilated completely. And Jibril's and Steph's faces lel.

I honestly would've loved to see Jibril actually do it. I'm serious. WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CENSOR THAT?! we saw naked bodies ffs. why can't we get some of what jibril did? ;____; /isn't a foot fetishist but any scene with jibril in a perverted activity is a win for me. plus we'd get to see Fii moan or something too o3o
