  • This splatfest has been pretty even for me. I played for about 3 hours worth of matches and went 29-21. The new Shifty Station is really a neat map with a great layout.

  • I noticed this Splatfest is not as lopsided as the previous ones, but something tells me Invisibility may end up being the overall winners. And no, it's not because Marina is more popular than Pearl.

  • And for the second time in a row, Pearl's team has won the Splatfest!

    Here's the scores:

    So that means, out of three Splatfests for the Splatoon 2 era so far, Marina's side only won one while Pearl has won two. Maybe Pearl is the better one after all, but next Splatfest could change that.

  • Pearl's rap game is on point!

    The popularity vote was pretty close this time. 55% won to 45% won seems like much a bigger disparity than the previous two splatfests . For me, the battles were pretty even in terms of wins/losses. The matchmaking was still pretty suspect, but it was fun.

    Japan's next splatfest is McDonald's theme: Fries vs Nuggets. {XD}

  • I'm laughing at how Marina fans are salty now that Pearl has won two Splatfests in a row.

    I mean, if Pearl wins the next one again then I bet there's going to be a lot of "oh the splatfest is rigged!" complaints from the Marina fans. Anyways, I like how Japan is doing a McDonald's-themed Splatfest so I am intrigued to see how that one will go.

    Welp, just finished all of Octo Valley with the Hero Splatbrella.

    I'm not exactly sure what skills I want to run on Splatbrella or whether or not I want to use the Hero variation at the moment, but I am certain that I like it more than the Splatling and that I'm running Ninja Squid with it.

    Why do you consider that a better loadout?

  • Japan gets all the good splafest themes. First with the Pop vs Rock (which was cake vs ice cream for us) and now with the McDonald's one which I'm sure we won't get.

    I joined the first Splatoon game late so I missed out on all the cool splatfest themes like Pokemon Red vs Blue or Autobots vs Decepticons. {XD}

  • I never understand why some Splatfests are exclusive to Japan, while others are only for the internationals.

    Huh? There's literally no difference between the normal and hero Splat Brella beyond appearance, so unless you're asking about cosmetic choice, I'm not sure I understand your question.

    Though if you mean why I prefer Splat Brella over Heavy Splatling, it's moreso due to feeling like the gameplay meshes better with the Brella than with the Splatling.

  • I've pretty much stuck with the Jet Squelcher for all of my ranked matches. Not a fan of the Toxic Mist subweapon, but I do like the Squelcher's long range and the Tenta Missiles is my favorite new special.

    Been trying to learn to use the Octobrush, but I'm not very good at flanking the opposing side, lol.

    Hopefully they add new apparel soon as well. I've just about bought everything from the stores!

    To be perfectly honest I haven't played Splatoon (lol) but I was moreover curious about your latter point that you were trying to make :P My only knowledge of the game (series) is trough podcassts and some videos that I've listened/watched.

    And the Chicken McNuggets have won Japan's McDonald's Splatfest!

    Nice to finally see Marina win again after Pearl won two international Splatfests in a row.

  • Well, every good McDonald's meal comes with fries!

    That said, if you count all the Splatfests held so far, Pearl currently has a 3-2 lead on Marina. Here's the winners so far, pink for Pearl's team, green for Marina's team and winner highlighted in bold.
    Spoiler:
