I played as her the first time that I played through Crystal version. It really made no difference however since playing as a girl didn't have any additional benefits over playing as a boy.
I didn't realize that the games were that expensive on the secondary market. I purchased a used copy of White 2 a few months ago, and it only cost me around 4800 yen [about $45].
I thought that was just a mistranslation or a rumor at most. I don't think that it would've worked out well had it been implemented anyway, regardless of what the region was based on.
I downloaded a Hoopa from one of the distributions in the Gen VI era, although I can't remember which event it was from. I never used Hoopa, however. I don't typically use Mythical Pokemon from events in general.
I'm a fan of all three Legendary Beasts, but Raikou is my favorite one right now because I'm a fan of tigers. Entei has also grown on me since I like lions, although in hindsight its G/S/C sprite was pretty awful.
It's my favorite part of the Gen IV games, because it never gets old. You can dig for rare items or plant Spheres and grow them so that you can exchange them for decorations, which I've always enjoyed. I wish that the Underground tunnels had been a part of future games as well.
The leveling curve is certainly one of those things that grated on my nerves when I played the Gen II games, and even the Gen IV remakes didn't exactly address the problem from my viewpoint. Leveling up consistently in the Jouto games is a chore, and I feel that Game Freak didn't properly test...
I captured the wild Fuwante/Drifloon a couple of times in D/P/Pt, but only for collection purposes, and not because I wanted to use one on my teams. I'm not a fan of the species, so I had no interest in adding one to my team.
I thought that the rematch system in HG/SS was terrible. Having to collect the phone numbers was tedious since many of them had to be obtained at specific times, and then having to call each Gym Leader at a different time was also frustrating, especially if you were too busy to play the game at...
I managed to get the extra Starters in both HeartGold and SoulSilver, although I can't remember what I chose in the former game since I haven't played it in years. In SoulSilver I chose Zenigame/Squirtle and Achamo/Torchic, though.
I don't even remember which type of Pokemon my own Friend Safari had, but I loved the feature anyway since it was a convenient way of catching rare Pokemon. I registered a lot of friends in my Friend Safari since I used to trade often back then, so the feature was helpful to me.
I got an event Darkrai from a Toys R Us distribution for Diamond and Pearl, and I was able to get the in-game Darkrai in Platinum as well. I was never able to get the special event Darkrai from the second Ranger game, however.
I was able to get a Gen II Starter from the professor in Emerald a few years ago. I chose Hinoarashi/Cyndaquil, because I like Fire-type Pokemon. Frankly though, getting the Starter was a lot of hard work.
I appreciated that he could be battled since we had never had a chance to battle previous professors, so it was a nice addition. I chose Hitokage/Charmander as my prize Starter after the battle.
