Saved by that glass perhaps? You and bf were extremely lucky, I hear that SA variant has been so bad that the government had to switch to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after the initial vaccine didn't work. That's insane.
Once I know enough about this Sinopharm vaccine which is being rolled out here I'll make my decision about getting it, because currently I don't know much about it except for which company manufactured it and where it came from. No idea if it has gone through enough trials before or what the short and long term health effects are. None of the news outlets are giving out any of that information, people are just being told to get vaccinated. Seems very odd. I'm glad you won't need a vaccine passport or pass to travel, I think a lot of people are worried about not being able to travel or go out for concerts, live sports events and so on unless they have that passport. So they are under pressure to get whichever vaccines are being rolled out in their countries, even that Astra Zeneca vaccine which has been causing trouble.
Speaking of self-isolation, that's pretty much what I've been doing all this time haha. Major benefit of working from home, even before this Covid nonsense started. Also because going into town has become so tiresome :/ shop to shop, place to place, you won't be allowed inside unless you're wearing a mask and you'll be sprayed at the entrances or at the front counter by what may or may not even be genuine hand sanitising liquid. Is that the same case over there in SA?
