  • Hey, Nolafus. I made this pretty big cake earlier for a friend, but their allergic. Heres the cake!
Oh, yeah, this game pays out a lot when you complete missions. In fact, that's the best way to make money for your guild. Alternatively, you can sell items you collect when monsters drop them or ones you get from material points (which exist in every maze in the game). EO also has a crafting system, where if you bring certain materials to the shop/atelier, new items become available. I'm a little surprised how much they actually can make, but most of it is stuff the game doesn't even hint at, so it's easy to overlook stuff when you're trying to upgrade weaponry/armor. The only downside is that EO4 and EO Untold make it so that a lot of items are disposable, meaning you have to keep getting more materials for them instead of just being able to buy more.
Well, not just that, but all RPGs used to also have a lot of side-bosses that were worth fighting. This is why I've taken to EO so well. It actually makes it so that you want to go out of your way to do everything in the game, and you actually get good rewards for completing the task. For instance, the first "superboss" that appears in EO Untold is a monster known as the Golem. Like the one in Jewish folklore, this one goes berserk with its attacks when you enter battle and has ridiculously high resistance to physical attacks. Magic/alchemical attacks don't do heavy damage either, making it that much harder to beat. Additionally, it has this defensive mechanism that allows it to endure on fatal attack and then suddenly recover almost half its health, as well as another regenerative move that it activates when it gets down to quarter health (it only lasts three turns, but it's annoying when you can't already hammer it).
    AHAHAHAHA! YOU'LL LOVE HER!!!

If EO Untold is any reference, EO4 should have a substantial amount of postgame content on top of all the pre-ending content it already had (which is A LOT). I looked up some before when I was trying to get a few hints on how to complete some side-quests that weren't so obvious. Apparently a big thing for EO in general is the inclusion of these things called 'superbosses.' I mean, a lot of the older RPGs used to do a lot of things like that, where you had to go out of your way to find these things if you wanted to get a 100% complete on it. I have run into a few of the superbosses in EO Untold and they were brutal. The ones I fought were ones that actually appeared were snuck in before I beat the game. It's actually something I've come to enjoy because most modern RPGs are straightforward without any serious traps anymore, even the so-called good ones... .-.
Not sure if you received my pm or not but could you change my thread title to 'Unlikely Heroes of Hoenn' apologies for the typo.
Oh, you'll love Fi then! Every thirty seconds, she'll chime you on the game screen and, when you press her button, she'll talk about nothing important at all...and go on about it for like five minutes before she's actually done talking. Then, she starts the process all over again.

OMFGOMFGOMFGOFMGOMFGFFFFFOFMFOFMOFMFOMFGGFGGFFGFF!!!! ****! I just beat Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan! I've had that game since October and was making minimal progress up to this week! Rough game too, and the final boss was outrageously strong!
I enjoy wearing them too. ;)

I'm going to try to do an entire collection of them, so if you have any suggestions I'll take'em! (as if I don't know which Pokemon you would want to see hehe)
Um, some differences between that game and this one are 1.) you can actually collect items that you can use later on to improve your equipment, 2.) recovery items are a lot more effective (and they come in handy in hero mode because hearts no longer appear in the wild), and 3.) Fi will bug the living heck out of you even when you already figured out what to do and where to go (as opposed to Midna who was just a smart-aleck about everything).
Consistently... Well, I've learned how indispensable potions are. Heart Potion++ becomes absolutely vital by the third boss because monsters are so much harder. Fairies in this game are actually the least effective form of recovery. They revive you, but they only restore six hearts, which makes them essentially worthless when it's easier to drink a Heart Potion++ and recover fully (it has two serving actually). The potion trick only comes from one of the handicaps, though (I won't specify what it is, otherwise it'd spoil the game for you).
Actually I didn't read it. I just saw that you had deleted it and thought you needed a bit affection from me, no matter what the matter was :3 so don't worry. I just hope that things will work out in a way that makes you happier because you are such a nice and clever person who deserves great things in life.
