The Legend of PokéCommunity v2 - Choose Your Hero!

Welcome to the Video Games forum, adventurer! If you've been around for a while, you may have seen the first iteration of this. Basically, what this is is a small (and hopefully fun) way to encourage participation here in VG, by giving you the opportunity to choose and grow a little hero character. Kind of like a Tamagotchi, but not really.


We have implemented some exciting new features this time around, which will make this thread a lot easier to stay on top of - big, big thanks to Game Development's mgriffin, who offered to help us automate the tracking of posts and updating this thread!

All you need to do from now on is create your character, and the script mgriffin whipped up will take care of all the exp and gold you earn in this forum. It will even be the shopkeeper and award items on request! I will still need to manually run the script when I log in, but no one has to count or keep track of posts or manually do any of that. :)


All you need to do to begin is to pick a class - copy the template under your chosen hero, give them a name and post it in this thread; you will keep editing your first post here to keep track of your character's progress. There can be more than one of the same class, so if someone's picked your favorite, you can still choose it for yourself.

Be sure to copy the entire code/don't accidentally copy more than what's in your box - I realize I made the boxes a bit too small and it makes copying a little difficult, but the page looks neater this way. :P


When copied correctly, your post will look something like this:



Your hero starts at level 1, and for every 10 EXP you gain, you will level up!


For each post or thread you make on the Video Games forum, you will gain 2 EXP and 5 .
For each post you make in the DCC, you will gain 1 EXP and 2 .


As more events crop up, there will be more event-related ways to earn EXP and ; keep your eyes peeled!


Please don't make spammy topics and posts just for the sake of leveling up - I won't specify any hard rules on what qualifies as "spam" unless I feel I have to, but I trust your judgment and that you will know what the difference between meaningful discussion and post-farming is.

If you've made a few posts around the place, chances are you have some gold jingling in your pockets already! Here's where you spend it on various weapons and vanity items.

It's dangerous to go alone, take buy a weapon!

To buy a weapon, edit your post - replace what is in the spoiler tag with the command !buy <item name>, and when the script is run, you will have it purchased and equipped.

When you buy a new weapon, the weapon you are holding will go in your inventory, and your newly purchased weapon will be equipped. To switch between weapons, simply use the command !equip <item name>.


If your class' weapons aren't here yet it just means I'm still working on putting them up!


It's dangerous to go alon- what's that? I used that quote already? Well, it may not be as dangerous if you have a weapon, but it sure gets lonely. If you don't have a friend, you can buy one here.

Similar to purchasing a weapon, you will be using commands for this - use the command !companion <species name> called <companion name> to purchase and name your new pet.


Don't worry, the witch is not a person. Maybe like a little stunted fairy thing. Kind of like a less annoying Navi. Totally ethical to keep her as a pet/companion.
