Survival of the Doofest​
Welcome to Bidoof Island.

This is a forum-based variant of the game popularly called "Mafia".

If you are new to the Underground and/or PokeCommunity, we highly recommend you click here, which will provide you with a helpful resource on learning the basics of how we play the game here.

For the rest of you regulars, it's about dang time.

BACKGROUND​

Project D.O.O.F. is proceeding as planned. A vast variety of test subjects have been acquired from the surrounding region. Will begin to administer the serum to the first group in exactly one hour.

Something has gone terribly wrong.

The test subjects initially elicited a positive response from the serum, several of them showed immediate pigment change. Just as the analysis was nearing completion, however, the subjects began to exhibit strange behavior, showing signs of aggression and even attacking our analysts. Will continue to monitor these developments. In the meantime, experiments have halted.

If an[...] -ear this, this is an em- [..]- cy. The test su- [...] shiny bidoofs h- [...] started hunting us, picking us off one by one. Calling for im- [...] -vacuation of the facility and surrounding areas[ ...] only ones left inside by th- [...] point are the other bidoofs.

God help them.



ROLES​

Spoiler: The Browns
Trapped on doof island, these bidoofs have to try and figure out how to work together to survive.
  • Bidoof M.D.- Years of medical study and training allow it to protect another doof at night, preventing harmful night actions from affecting them.
  • Batdoof- The Hero of Gotham, Batdoof will choose a another doof to protect at night, with a fifty percent chance to kill any visiting mafia, and a 50 percent chance to sacrifice himself instead.
  • Cop Doof- An expert in law enforcement and possessor of honed senses, it will visit one doof at night to discover their alignment.
  • Crazy Cop Doof- While it might seem similar to Cop Doof, it's pretty confused about things. Like it's namesake, it visits a doof at night. However, guilty reports will appear innocent, and vice versa. Appears to itself as Cop Doof.
  • Strategist Doof- Watches another doof at night, and will learn who visited them.
  • Creeper Doof- A bit of a creeper, it will follow one of the other doofs around at night, and know who they visited.
  • Sexy Nurse Doof- Apprentice to Bidoof M.D, it visits another doof at night, and protects it from any harmful night actions. However, the patient becomes infatuated and and forgets to perform their night action.
  • Dynamite Doof- Who knows how it got all that tnt.... who ever kills it will be blown up. Nothing goes off if it's lynched.
  • Agent Bidoof Smith- Fresh out of the matrix, this doof has the ability to send anonymous messages to any role not sided with the Browns.
  • Bidoof the Seer- This spiritual doof chooses one person at night. When Bidoof the Seer dies, the last chosen person's role will be revealed.
  • Wise Old Doof- He may be old, but he provides guidance for all the other Browns. If Wise Old Doof dies, the next day's, votes will be anonymous.
  • Arms Dealer Doof- Specializing in bidoof-wieldable firearms, ADD gives another doof a gun at night. This gun has a fifty percent chance of revealing who shoots it.
  • Bidoof Iron-Paw- Working around the forge all day, this doof crafts a bulletproof vest that will be given out to another doof at night. These vests will stop one bullet, but not a lynch.


Spoiler: The Shinies
The results of unnatural experimentation, these oddly colored bidoofs are out for blood. They will stop at nothing to assert their dominance of bidoof island, and will attempt to kill another doof each night. Not much is known about these predators, except their distinct hues.

  • Platinum Bidoof- Once during the game, Platinum Bidoof will visit another doof. If that doof dies, only Platinum doof will know it's role.
  • Crystal Bidoof- Has the ability to send anonymous messages to any role.
  • Golden Bidoof- Visits a doof each night, and blocks any night actions that it uses.
  • Silver Bidoof- Visits a doof each night, gives a fake gun or fake vest. Fake vest don't protect, and fake guns kill the shooter.
  • Bronze Bidoof- Visits a doof every night, and steals any items they have. Bronze doof does not communicate directly with the mafia.


Spoiler: Unaligned
Sometimes, it's every doof for his or herself.

  • Doof the Ripper- Has the opportunity to visit one doof every night and kill it. However, doing so has a fifty percent chance of revealing the killer's role the next morning. Doof the Ripper wins if it is among the last doofs alive.
  • Doofinson Crusoe- A scruffy-looking thing, it visits a doof every night, and if that doof doesn't visit anyone, Doofinson Crusoe will hide with them. If the chosen doof dies that night, so does Crusoe. It's win conditions are... well, staying alive.
  • Lovestruck Doof- This romantic Bidoof visits another doof once at night, causing both parties to fall madly in love. If either dies, the other will commit suicide at the next full phase change.

There are no secret roles. What you see listed is what's in play.

In case it wasn't clear, the Browns are the uninformed innocent team, while the Shinies are the informed minority.

RULES​

  • All PokeCommunity rules apply.
  • Players must vote to lynch a player during the day phase.
  • Players are allowed to change their votes, with their last change being counted as final.
  • Please use LYNCH [name] and bold it to confirm your vote.
  • Failure to vote for two consecutive phases will result in being kicked from the game, unless the GM is properly notified and specifies otherwise.
  • Do not share game-related information anywhere but in this thread.
  • If you've actually read this, congratulations. Include the word "derp" somewhere in your sign-up post. Cool things might happen.
  • If you have died, you may make a single death post, which may not contain any game-sensitive information. Afterwards you may not post again until the game has ended.
  • Tied lynches will be decided at random via the GM's chosen method.
  • Posting during the night phase, unless otherwise specified, will result in that player's death.
  • Night actions should be sent to the appropriate GM by PokeCommunity PM.
  • Per accordance with Underground stipulations, each day phase will consist of approximately 48 hours, and each night phase 24 hours. Players will be notified by the GMs if this changes.
  • The GMs reserve the right to make changes to any aspect of game mechanics, roles, rulings, etc.

edit: also, set a text color for the op so that it's not showing up as each style's default, lol. It's not too readable on Dawn of Champions, and likely some others
