    Someone called at work yesterday with a number that looked a lot like my dad's. He has called the work line before so I just thought it was him, and I picked up the phone like "hello?"

    "dad?"

    It wasn't my dad
    The number was literally 2 digits off
    Wasn't too bad though, the guy was nice and we had a good laugh about it

    Anyway, anything embarrassing happen to you lately? Or what was the last thing you recall being embarrassed about?

  • I get embarrassed so easily, over the silliest things that nobody notices! I also blush all the time and cringe a lot, haha. ^//^;

    Usually I can shrug things off. "Cringe" is one of the most overused words, especially those cringe compilation videos on Youtube. A little kid acting strange is not embarrassing, that's just how kids are. But the majority of those videos are filled with kids at conventions. Another common thing I see people find embarrassing is a missed high five. It happens, but it's not the most humiliating thing like people see it. You quickly learn to move on.

  • a week or so ago a co-worker was asking me for help with something, he popped up right outta nowhere and I was feeling kinda anxious at the time. Went to sit back down at my cubicle with him hovering over me waiting for me to check what he asked for and as I prepare to sit down, my feet hit the leg of the office chair and I flailed my arms a bit in panic and almost fell backwards. He didn't say anything, which is good, but god was I embarrassed.

    The others are a bit far back so I either can't remember too well, or would rather not experience that memory again, even as a thought. but there are a helluva lot

  • Have you ever seen someone that looked like someone you know and then you say their name and it turns out that you have the wrong person so you try to play it off cool but in reality you kinda look dumb lol

    or better yet when you go to say something, but then think of something else to say so you just combine the words into an unintelligible mess like the grool scene in Mean Girls

    Somewhat sad but relevant story that yours reminded me of.

    When I was 11 or 12, my dad passed. Well, I used to write him emails to his work email. I used that as a form to kind of get feelings off my chest.

    I did this for years. Once a week or two. Well.. One year the email replied. I about had a heart attack.

    "I'm so sorry that you're going through that. I lost my dad too. I'm guessing I got the job that your dad used to do, so they gave me his old email. Was he Tom? His memorial is here at the workplace. I'm going to ask the manager if he can provide me a new email so this one can be undisturbed. Hope life goes smoothly for you."

    That guy could of been toxic and replied in the form of a prank, but he was very sincere. I stopped writing emails since that day, though.
