30 Days of Gaming V2

Day 9 - Saddest game scene

Gonna have to go with Final Fantasy X, I think. I cry at pretty much anything nowadays, but this game's ending made me cry like a baby back when I was still 100% tomboy and thought emotion was for chumps. :P Even today, YEARS after I finished the game (and I haven't finished it since), just seeing clips of the ending can make me tear up. I just got so attached to the characters and their stories.

Day 10 - Best gameplay

I'm so tempted to say KH:BBS simply because I've played it so much that I know the battle system like the back of my hand and probably enjoy it the most buuuut... I don't know if I'd necessarily say it has the objectively best gameplay. I might have to give that honour to The World Ends With You. I know a lot of people didn't like it because it was too frantic and hard to control manually but if you did get the hang of it? It's amazing. You can customize your gameplay so much, not only in difficulty but in attacks and skills. The game probably makes the best use of the DS (touch screen, double screens, wireless... even the microphone) of any game on the system and it does it without being gimmicky. It's fun and the story/non-action parts don't drag gameplay-wise either. It's both fun and innovative so it gets the nod from me.

Day 9 - Saddest game scene
I don't have one.

Day 10 - Best gameplay
Going strictly on gameplay and nothing else... Super Mario Galaxy 2. Nintendo perfected and elevated the Mario formula with this game.

Day 9 - Saddest game scene
I can't remember the saddest game scene that I have witnessed... So i'll just leave this blank.

Day 10 - Best gameplay
I think this is a little too specific unless we are defining the best gameplay out of all genres or just individual ones. If it's a game the has the absolute best gameplay above all other games, I can't think of one, simply because there are so many great games out there, but I can define the best gameplay for specific genres. I'll only describe one RPG that I think stands out the most with other RPG titles.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity
This game has the best RPG gameplay I have seen in any game. Not only is it addicting, but it is unique and rewarding. Typical hack and slash RPGs usually follow similar standards, but this game by far stands out from the crowd despite it's sci-fi background.

Day 10 - Best gameplay

As much as I love Silent Hill 2, it really doesn't win this one! XD

Best gameplay is a very tough one and there have been many games that have smoothly run, F1 2010, Fifa '12 and so on. But one of the best and that just ran smoothly, for me, was Tales of Symphonia.

Day 10 - Best gameplay:
It's a tie I'd have to say the first thing that came to mind was Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando/Locked and Loaded. Great combination of so many things. Gunplay, platforming, racing, spaceship battles and the odd, yet fun minigame.
My other choice would be GTA: San Andreas. There was just so much to do and it all felt so comfortable to play. Even the flying - I don't see what everyone complained about.

Day 9: Saddest scene

Have to go with the ending of Final Fantasy X. That ending gets me every single time. It fits well with the story and am glad it doesn't have the happy ending most of them always seem to have. I have played through that game a lot and it still gets me.

Day 10: Best Gameplay

I really like the Gameplay of Monster hunter. For a hand held game the way the controls are set up work well with the console and it feels very smooth.

Day 10 - Best Gameplay

Super Mario Galaxy 1, I really liked the game, the gameplay was fine, it compelled you to keep going, and although sometimes I felt like a real jew (no harming intended) for only advancing when i finished hogging all the stars it was really fun

Fell behind!

Day 7

Favorite couple is not doubt Yuri and Alice of Shadow Hearts. Can't really go into much details without getting into spoilers, but it's definitely the most sincere from any of the games I've played.

Day 8

Yeah, I don't think anything will surpass the perfection that is the Chrono Cross soundtrack for me. The game was already good, but the music just gets you even more immersed in the game itself. So many beautiful songs. :'(

Day 9

I might have said FFX too, but FFX-2 negates any previous feelings I had for it, lol.

Hm, I guess that would be chapter 5 of Fire Emblem 4. Again, can't really go into details, but it's not something you'd normally expect. I remember my first time through the game thinking, "srsly?" :/

Day 10

Being the RPG fanatic that I am, Grandia's (all of them) battle system has and still is the most fun for me to play. It's a turn-based combat system that runs in real time, if that makes any sense.

Day 10 - Best Gameplay

Pokémon hands down. It's the only game that can keep my attention, that's pretty much the only thing that makes it stand out. I think I have attention oh hey look a pokemon episode

Day 9

The saddest gaming scene I've probably experience is tied between two, from the same game! I'll spoiler alert this, because if you haven't played it Mother 3, DO SO! It is so amazing.
Spoiler:

Day 10

This might be due to this being what I'm currently playing now, but Limbo has such a unique depiction and amazing gameplay, I couldn't not mention it. Akin to Mother 3, I urge you to play this game if you have not!

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

Very, VERY tough decision. I have played on and owned a lot of different systems in my life and many have had amazing games on them, but I think the one that wins, would have to be the PS2. For some reason, this console, thinking back, has had so many amazing games on that I have enjoyed so much and still love to this day, that I can't let it go. The Gamecube is closely following it.

Day 11
Gonna have to stick it to the SNES. I have so many fond memories of that little thing, supporting many of my childhood classics including Chrono Trigger, Super Mario World, Earthbound, FFVI, Lutia 2, I could go on forever really. I guess this is closely followed by the classic Xbox, which also included things like Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Set Radio Future, Otogi: Myth of Demons, and yeah, so much good stuff!

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

I know this will seem like a cop-out, but my all-time favorite gaming system is the PC, based solely on the games made for it and NOT because it technically could play most other systems via emulators. Almost all of my fond gaming memories have come while playing games made for the PC platform, including but not limited to: Empire Earth, Sim City, The Sims, Civilization, The Movies, and Alpha Centauri.

Day 11

I think it would be between the PSX and PS2 really. I own the most number of games for both of those systems, and even near the beginning of the eighth generation of consoles, I still find myself playing those more than anything else. Plus, they had numerous quality RPGs which I've had the joy in collecting. :D

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

No$gba. I know it's an emulator, but I can assure you that being able to see both DS and GBA games in action and in assembly all on my computer is pretty awesome.

If not an emulator I think I would prefer anything as long as it's not broken.

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

I've absolutely loved my 3DS ever since the day I bought it. Its library of games is getting better and better as time goes on, and I find the controls for most games to be fantastic. Take Ocarina of Time 3D, for instance; I was quite surprised by how comfortable it felt playing that game on a handheld, but even more-so that the controls were even better than the original (at least in my opinion.) For the first time I could actually perform spin attacks with ease, which needless to say added to my overall enjoyment. Oh, and don't even get me started about how awesome it felt using weapons with the gyro sensor!

Alongside that, you have all sorts of games from other systems that can be played on the 3DS, some of which have alternative resolutions. The system also has quite a bit to add outside of purchasable games. A camera, a messaging system, built-in-games, free 3D videos... the list goes on!

Day 11 - Preferred gaming system

I prefer the PS2 because it has the largest variety of excellent games. Also, some of the best games were on the PS2, and I used to somehow occupy myself for countless hours playing a mixture of different games.

Day 11 - Gaming system of choice

Gotta go with the DS. I think if you added up all the time I've spent playing every console, the DS would be way ahead of everything else. I've played ~50 games on it (beaten most of them) and I still go back and replay games on it. I can take it everywhere and it's so easy to play for a few minutes and then I can close it and not worry about my game if I have to stop in a hurry. The only thing I wish it had was an easier way to export the video to a TV or capture card. :( Oh well.

Day 12 - A game everyone should play

Above all else, I'd have to go with Super Mario Bros., though it obviously gets enough attention as it is. It's pretty much the pinnacle of all 2D platformers and gave that genre a huge boost in popularity.

Day 12 - A game everyone should play

Shadow of the Colossus. This is one of the most beautiful games I have played and everyone should play through it, because it is one of my favourite games. I would say SH2, but I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea.
