Do you know any songs, albums or artists that you feel aren't as well-known as they should be? Share them here so that everyone can broaden their music taste!

For me, the post-rock bands This Will Destroy You and Motionless are both fantastic, and should be tried out by anyone looking to get into the genre :]

I think The Internet is a very underrated and lesser known band. I'd say that their main genres are R&B and Trip Hop with various other elements thrown in. Their entire discography is very good and I would suggest that anyone give their music a listen.

The stuff I listen to isn't exactly mainstream, so I don't expect any of this to get popular any time soon buuuuuut I'd still like to get my plug in so:

    Artists:
    Lamb
    Susumu Yokota
    DJ Krush
    Nujabes
    Thievery Corporation
    Röyksopp

    Albums:
Between Darkness and Wonder by Lamb
    Sakura by Susumu Yokota
Sound of Sky, also by Susumu Yokota
    Modal Soul by Nujabes
    Make Yourself by Incubus
    Zen by DJ Krush
    Jaku, also by DJ Krush
    Endtroducing by DJ Shadow

There's a bunch more but this is what immediately comes to mind :)

One band that's often overlooked and is one of my favourites is Portishead. Fantastic trip-hop band, all three of their albums are fantastic. I would start from the beginning (Dummy) and go from there.

don't forget Roseland NYC Live! might be my favorite release of theirs. it's incredible.

my vote: Fishmans. Japanese dream pop undercut with dub reggae. it's incredible.

    There are some artists.

Blue Stahli is a multi-instrumentalist that makes techno metal music. I'd recommend you listen to his "The Devil" album.
Psychostick is a "humorcore" band. It's comedy metal, technically. I'd recommend you listen to all their albums. It's pretty dirty humor, but i love it.

Other stuff i listen to is quite known, so i think that's all i have to share.

both these groups were huge back in the days
especially the second one but these days the youth probably doesn't even know who they are which is ashame because they both are FAB and majestic

    tokio hotel
    and
    backstreet boys

tokio hotel is if you like emo/rock
backstreet boys is if you like POP, good vocals and sexy boys

I think it doesn't help that they didn't release an album for 11 years and their last album was 8 years ago already, haha. They were a big name in the 90's, but you gotta keep that up.

If anyone is into post-hardcore/metalcore, I can really recommend TRUST THE MEDIC. Their vocalist is incredibly talented. It's a shame they don't have that much stuff out, but the 8 songs or so they have out are really good. I especially like their Shake it off cover.

I know it's weird to recommend Panic! At The Disco, because their (or his now, I guess) new album was #1, but I feel like their album Pretty. Odd. is not as appreciated as I would like it to be. It's an amazing album, drawing influence from the Beatles, and Baroque music. Another song not on that album, or any for that matter, that I would like to recommend by them is C'mon, the song they did with Fun.. I love the lyrics for it, as the singers both use Alice in Wonderland references, with the first verse being influenced by Alice, and the second verse being based on the Mad Hatter.

A Dutch band that I love, and gets a lot of recognition over here, is Racoon. They make really good music, and I wholeheartedly believe their singer is one of the best vocalists the Netherlands have. They have compositions with brass sections, such as No Mercy, but also really catchy poprock songs (Feel Like FLying, and acoustic love songs (Love You More).

Doves. I can't emphasise enough how much I love these guys and how much it pisses me off that people seem unaware of them. They're responsible for so many of those songs that you know, that you hear everywhere, but you don't know who wrote/sang them.

I see nujabes, dj shadow and portishead being mentioned so in that vein i will bring up amon tobin, dr snake and monkey_sequence.19

the acoustic version of playdate's self titled album, playdate is great imo. i prefer the rawness of their acoustic session to the stuff they have up on bandcamp. my favorite song is the second one, starts at 2:22.
