Anybody use Pinterest these days?

I mostly use it to get memes and look at fan art. But yes I do agree with the previous posts that a lot of the fan art is stolen.

welll.... i'm newly engaged so yes my pinterest is disgustingly overfilled with boards featuring dresses, flowers, decorations etc etc

also with the occasional fancy DnD dice mixed in which is a totally cool touch tbh

i actively try to avoid it ever since i realized it's one of those sites that forces you to make an account to do basic things such as view/download their photos. if i need an image, i just subtract it from the results nowadays.

No, I don't, since I assume that most of the stuff on Pinterest is stolen fanart, so I don't really want to look there anymore.
Same opinion as I had six years ago but now with ai results. 👎

I stumble back into it again every so often, because my interests and the fact I change themes here every month means I'm looking up fan art and such every so often. I used to use it so often when I was younger until I gradually just realized so much of what I enjoyed using it for was just art that had been re-posted from social media, and I could directly support the artists by using that instead. Sometimes it's a nice way to find something specific that I'm looking for, and then be able to reverse search for the source of an image. But it'd definitely be a lie to say I use Pinterest at all nowadays.

I feel conflicted on using it, especially now that Pinterest is flooded with ads and AI slop, and with people's accounts getting permanently banned for no reason. And of course, there's still the issue of reposted art from usually non-consenting artists. I've used Pinterest for years and have accumulated thousands of pins, but the direction the site has been going in recent years makes me hesitant to continue using it.
