April 2025 Archipelago (In progress)

I tested out Doom II and it's working fine, and everything else worked well in the last test server.

Did I forget to change the name of the internal Emerald yaml player? Cause it still called the AP world file "AlexTstPoEm" but the new yaml was changed to just "AlexEM".
Otherwise I tested them all and they all work perfectly. I *did* happen to find Missile Launcher instantly followed by Morph Ball in my Metroid world as my first and second check, though, so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again during the game proper.
Either way, I'm good to go on my end!

Ah. Missed the edit. Swapped in the new Emerald YAML. (No need for further testing.)

For Metroid Prime: Found this comment in the Metroid Prime Discord thread.
cause when you have elevator rando on, the Prime apworld pre-fills the Hive Mecha location with Missile Launcher and the Plated Beetle location with Morph Ball
Could be different with a non-vanilla start. Might be forcing them to immediate locations in your world, however.

Do you think if I set those as forced into another world it would work? Or does the elevator thing even overwrite that too?

Tested it. Placed them early in your world still.

Extra note: Might be too difficult of logic (or maybe very linear?) without doing that. Already saw some errors about making Metroid Prime locations accessible. (Halts the generation entirely, so not in any seed you see.)

Ignore this. Restarting...

Does not really need Vendily's go-ahead, in thinking about it. Only changed a minor setting. Worried mainly about connecting. Already did that, so...

I hope MP doesn't cause any issues in general for people even if it has to give me those early. In the event I run it again I'll probably turn off random elevators so the seed can shuffle those items better.

I hate to do this right after starting, but I realized I made an error with my BRC YAML and I didn't have limited graffiti turned on! I think playing BRC in a randomizer setting without it is incredibly boring, it basically turns every extra graffiti after the first one worthless, so I updated my YAML to include it. I thought it was best to immediately speak up to not lose much time.

I also included Bel in my starting items just because I very like her and just want to play as her. I'm not sure if just typing Bel into starting items is the correct way to do it, so I apologize if it needs to be tweaked, but here's a new proper YAML. Sorry about that!

I kinda want to turn off elevators now as well then if that's okay. I'd rather not have that force certain items early.

Edit: I was busy so I didn't see the server go live before I could change that anyway, but sorta wanted to. It's honestly really helpful for me that there was an issue Setsu, so thank you.

For the curious, my early key item was the Nomai Warp Codes. This opens up a significant proportion of the planets fairly early on, but without the convenience of proper space travel.
This is because most of the warp platforms all start the timeloop covered in sand. I can still warp to them (which makes me end up above the sand), but I'll need to wait for them to become uncovered before I can warp back.

Pair this on top of Giant's Deep being my starting planet. I... probably should have practiced a bit on all the starting planets, because getting from island to island on GD is... complicated as the islands are all moving. Good to know for next time at least.

In terms of Deathlink-able deaths, I had one, once you discount the false start session.

Death 1: Asphyxiation
While warping from planet to planet, the astronaut had spotted some intact ruins they needed to explore. The catch was, to reach those ruins, the astronaut would have to move from one planet in the binary pair to the other. Normally, this would be a simple task, just riding the flow of sand over to the other side and taking care not to crash land, but the last of the sand had already trickled away by this point. The alternative then was to make a massive leap with their jetpack to fling themselves into low orbit, and hope the gravity of the other body will catch them.
Unfortunately, they ran out of fuel partway through this maneuver, burning their oxygen supply as fuel to keep themselves from crashing hard into the rocky surface. This only delayed their death by a few seconds at most.

I'm starting off with A Hat in Time. My first unlocked level is Queen Vanessa's Manor, which gives me access to most of Subcon Forest. (I didn't shuffle in Progressive Subcon Paintings this time since I can do the Fire Wall skip really easily now.) Fran from FF12 had a Hookshot Badge for Hat Kid to use, and Vendily found the contract for this level from BH Ship Log: Riebeck's Camp 1 - Visit.

Shattering an Ice Cube in Subcon Village opened up Professor Snail Cave in Stardew Valley, and I found some Ice Cream in a chest there for KH2. Another Ice Cube held the Pewter Key for Arcaneum's LeafGreen, and I met the Badge Seller who had lots of items to sell, none of them Badges. I picked up two Large Graffiti patterns for the Bomb Rush Crew, a Deluxe Fertilizer Recipe and Progressive Mine Elevator for Stardew, a Shelled Trophy for FF12, Electrical Insulation, and the Combo Plus ability for KH2. There was also a set of Diamond Armor for FFV on a house top, and the Second Board for FF12.

Exploring the swamp, I then found Holoro Talents for Holocure beneath a giant skeleton, a Large Graffiti painted on a tree for the BRC, and a Windvane for FF12 on a high-up treehouse.

In the southern burnt forest, I found a Club Card for Stardew in a cage guarded by spiders, an XL Graffiti for the BRC, a Time Piece for myself on top of a burning tree, and the second Mining Level on top of a burning house. I found a Rusty Key for Stardew in a cage next to a frozen fountain. Finally, I got the first Farming Level for Stardew from bouncing off some spiders.

I also sold my soul to the Snatcher three separate times to trick him out of a Good Rod for Setsuna's LG, a +2 Speed Upgrade for HoloCure, and a Wicked Statue Recipe for Stardew. Then I bounced up to the top of his house, a giant tree with a giant mushroom glowing on it, and found some Pineapple Seeds for SV at the top. I found another Large Graffiti on a rock, then found the Fighter's Sword for my LttP next to a giant shattered Time Piece.

I then went to Queen Vanessa's Manor itself, and found Pierre's first Heart on the rooftop. I went inside, found a Progressive Club in the cellar, also for SV, then a pair of Running Shoes for A Short Hike in a hall chest. I snatched a cup of Tea for ArcLG from Queen Vanessa's bedroom, grabbed an Apricot Sapling hanging on top of a chandelier, and opened a chest to find a Trench Page for FF5.

A Hat in Time is BKed for now, and it's time to move on and start my other games. (ArchipIDLE also finished around this time; I haven't been keeping track of what it sent.)

I'm having an issue reconnecting MP with the AP server. It's not giving me my items and won't let me type in it without instantly dropping the connection. I'm probably doing something wrong, but I have no idea what. I managed to send out one item at server launch, but now it doesn't seem to want to let me rejoin. Am stuck until help.

Starcraft 2

For this run of Starcraft 2, I'm considering my protagonist faction to be the Daelaam Protoss, with the Terrans I play being mostly defectors and anti-Dominion rebels who would rather live under Protoss rule. The Zerg I play will be explained soon-ish. I'm not going to put quite as much effort into a cohesive story like my first playthrough. It's likely just going to be a "win the Second Great War/End War by conquering everything in the sector" narrative. I only have the time for just the Sphere 1 checks tonight, but I can't get much more than that without any starting units.

Mission #1: Breakout

We hired a single Terran spectre, Gabriel Tosh, to secretly help Raynor's Raiders, a Terran rebel group, liberate the prison planet of New Folsom. Tosh helped take down several outposts and brought back a Leaf Stone for Emerald, and some Cauliflour Seeds for Stardew Valley. He also raided a Diamondback depot, stealing the clothes off a pilot's back to get a pair of Street Jeans for Luigi, and a Siege Tank depot that had a spell tome to teach Flare Force to Donald Duck. He then called down five nuclear warheads upon the main Dominion base from orbit, and retrieved the Varia Suit for Samus in the chaos of the fighting. Raynor's Raiders are quite pissed off that we nuked the place, and killed some of the prisoners they wanted to rescue, so we're going to fight them next. After the fight, Raynor outbid us for Tosh's contract, so we have to go fight him now.

Mission #2: Ghost of a Chance

Thankfully, we have other Terrans working for us to help win the Battle of New Folsom. Nova, the Dominion's strongest Ghost, has recently offered to defect to the Protoss, and she and her Covert Ops Crew took down all of Raynor's orbital installations, killed all ten Spectres, and killed Tosh by dropping a nuke on the building he was in. The first asteroid, we found Devalue's third Combat Level by killing a Spectre, and found a Heart Container for Zelda 1 from the Jorium Stockpile. After winning the fight, Raynor's Raiders surrendered to us. Since we both want to overthrow the Dominion, they offered to sign up with us. (The mind-control of the Hyperion's captain while they were above the Jorium Stockpile didn't hurt.) They also taught us two L Graffiti patterns and an XL Graffiti pattern, and we relayed these to the Bomb Rush Crew.

Sadly, Nova's Domination Visor, Cloak, and Sniper Rifle were damaged in the fight as she was slightly too close to the tactical nuke she called in, and it may be a while until we find replacement equipment. We've outfitted her with a Protoss Psi-blade in the meantime.
