Archipelago (Completed)

Mission 26/83: Ghost of a Chance

Now that Raynor and the Kerrigan clone are safe, we moved on to other matters. Our target this mission was Avernus Station, home to Tosh's Spectres and his other mercenaries, which I wiped out almost entirely with Nova.

Three of the Spectres had treasure on them that I looted. The first had another Power Star for Mario, the second had a Jolly Joker for 5qwertys Balatro, and the third had a Burn Heal for Arcaneum in LeafGreen. The three structures we destroyed also held treasrue. The Psi Indoctrinator held a Repeat Ball, also for Arcaneum in LeafGreen, the Terrazine Tanks held a Starf Berry for 5qwerty in FireRed, and the Jorium Stockpile held a Minor League Bat for Ness. This place doesn't have much gravity, so I wonder how the mercs here played baseball in space? If they made it work, it must've been really cool.

Mission 27/83: Brothers in Arms

We finally got a lead on the Wristwatch that Vendily wanted, located on Tyrador IX. However, the closest route to Tyrador IX goes through Korhal, the capital city of the Terran Dominion. Normally, this would be a problem, since the Dominion is hostile to us usually. That being said, they've called truces when fighting the Defenders of Man and the Tal'darim Protoss, so all we had to do is wait for a third party to attack Korhal to get them to let us through. Luckily enough, Moebius Corps happened to attack Korhal just at the time we needed, so we offered our Protoss and Terran armies to assist them in fighting off Moebius's armies of Terrans backed up by Hybrid.

We had to destroy an artifact called the Keystone, which Moebius was theoretically using to stun all Terran troops in the area, but a technical error caused it to only stun themselves, making this mission quite easy as I started with a lot of Terran units built up already.

We also liberated three Science Facilities and "liberated" the treasures they had inside them. All three were devoted to developing new types of playing cards. The first had a White Magical Hat Yu-Gi-Oh card for Arcaneum, but Moebius already took the second facility's card by the time we got there, so we pilfered the Pink Scarf of the commander leading its defense and gave it to Arcaneum in LeafGreen. The third facility had a Reroll Surplus/Reroll Glut Voucher for 5qwerty in Balatro. Finally, when we destroyed the Keystone, we got the Chicot legendary Joker that Moebius had stolen from the second science facility before we could steal it, and also gave it to 5qwerty in Balatro.

We got another hint, using it for Photon Cannons, and the blueprints are apparently held by Bug Catcher Garret all the way in Pattern Bush in Arcaneum's LeafGreen. They would've been nice to have but it appears I'm just going to have to live without them, unless Arcaneum can get to Pattern Bush or beat LeafGreen early. Hopefully I get Khaydarin Monoliths sometime as a substitute.

Now it's time to cut a bloody swathe through the Zerg and Tal'darim Protoss and get Vendily that Wristwatch.

Mission 28/83: Trouble in Paradise

Having finally arrived at Tyrador IX, we observed that there was already a battle, between the Zerg and the Defenders of Man. I had Nova and my starting Banshees destroy all six Zerg Hatcheries right from the start, and I didn't have much trouble with the rest of the mission thanks to the overpowered Spear of Adun abilities I got early on. The Tal'darim Protoss attacked everyone after I beat the Zerg Hatcheries, but I didn't have much problem with the Zerg either. One Solar Bombardment can easily take down a Tal'darim Shield Projector so all I had to do was fly in a Banshee close enough to hit it. I got all optional objectives including the Fleet Beacon which held Vendily's Wristwatch, and also got 7 Coins for Vendily from a Hatchery.

The other hatcheries gave me a Guardian upgrade for whenever I finally get them, a Super Rod for Raven in Red or Blue (Apparently Zerg like to fish too), a Storm Magicite for Arcaneum in FF12, and a Chesto Berry for Arcaneum in LeafGreen. Arcaneum also got an EnergyPowder and Grepa Berry from two Shield Projectors for LeafGreen.

The other two Shield Projectors gave Setsuna 100 Time Shards, and the Sweet Memories keychain for Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2. Finally, 5qwerty got an Ultra Ball from the Tal'darim Mothership.

Once we beat the Tal'darim and got all the treasures, we left Tyrador IX. We will not return to this planet, but we will return to this system, at its sister planet Tyrador VIII. As for the Defenders of Man, they had no items and were hostile to the Protoss and Zerg, so we just ignored them. The Zerg got reinforcements from Tyrador VIII and ate them all after we left the planet, leaving them with only an outpost on the planet Sharpsburg.

Have you done anything in Stardew as of yet @CoolKid575? Because the tracker is saying that you haven't even touched the game. This isn't me trying to rush you, just letting you know in case there are tech issues you weren't aware of.

I've seen CoolKid connect to the server while playing Starcraft today, but not collect any items, if that helps debug any tech issues.

It has been a really quiet day, though. Other than me, I only saw Cherrim actually collect anything.

I've gone over both my trackers and cleaned up any of the few checks I missed. But am now fully stuck in both games. Good luck to those with things to do! ^^
Do you have any hints available? You can type "!hint itemname" in the Archipelago client to find the locations of the items you need, but you only get a limited amount of hints so you should use them carefully.

He mentioned checking his mailbox and there being a bunch of items, so the ones got for him have made it, but I'm not sure about out-going items.

I think that's because a few of us are stuck at the moment, so there's not a reason to go online.

And I'm not fond of using hints, personally. It takes the fun out of it for me.

Earthbound (Part 5)

Popped in to clear out unneeded items and double-check for anything useful. Missed getting the Hieroglyph Copy, which opens up the pyramids (and Dungeon Man, with the Key to the Tower already in hand). Does not lead to a Sanctuary. Represents one of the bigger cache of items left, however (9 in the pyramid, 12 in Dungeon Man). Believes there were a few decent things in there (Progressive Mail for Link to the Past, Infestor + Solar Lance + progressive Zerg melee attack for Starcraft 2, maybe a Seashell for A Short Hike).

Hinted for the two things needed to complete the game already: Paula and Meteorite Piece. Held onto the other hints in case of needing them for someone else. Broke down what the missing progression items give:
  • Key to the Shack: Sanctuary + 4 items
  • Jar of Fly Honey: Sanctuary + 11 items
  • Shyness Book: Sanctuary + 12 items
  • Teleport: Winters: 1 item
    • With Letter from Tony: 9 items
      • With Key to the Locker?: 4 items
    • With Pak of Bubble Gum: Sanctuary + 10 items
      • With Eraser Eraser: 10 items
  • Mining Permit: 15 items?
  • Teleport: Magicant: 7 items
  • Diamond: 1 item
  • Franklin Badge: 1 item
  • Bad Key Machine: 1 item
  • Meteorite Piece: 2 items? (+ eventual goal)
  • Paula: 2 items (+ eventual goal)
  • Jeff: 2 items
  • Poo: 1 item

Needs 4-8 Sanctuaries to finish (plus Paula and the Meteorite Piece). Stands at 4 now. Locked a lot of items in places unrelated to Sanctuaries, however. Prefers to be flexible enough to grab something needed for someone else in one of those out-of-the-way places.

Edit: May be incorrect on Key to the Locker. Normally opens the lockers with the Bad Key Machine. Could be different for the randomizer. Never entered the boarding school in the previous two randomizers of this.

Hello! I have sent this over to you, enjoy!

[PokeCommunity.com] Archipelago (Completed)

Thanks a bunch! With everything I've gotten so far, my game's more or less in a phase of having lots of little checks and items that will unlock a small handful of checks each. Either that or being able to break open everything besides a couple entire areas once I've collected all of those little items. For now, I'd like to request the following:

  • Magic Firefly and Path of Resilience from StarCraft 2's Shatter the Sky: Southeast Coolant Tower and Engine of Destruction: Victory
  • Aerobatics Warrior from Pokemon Crystal's Rocket HQ B3F
  • Strike of the Ninja from Bomb Rush Cyberfunk's Millennium Mall
And uhhh... wherever Claustro and Pyro may be hiding, poor guys.

Thanks in advance! And I desperately want to get some people some really cool really important items, it just feels like most of the time I'm just picking up these nothing filler items. I wanna get lucky and be useful! For now though, I am once again walled off. Good luck out there!

Mission 29/83: A Sinister Turn

We return now to my Protoss army, this time under the command of Zeratul, and traveled to the planet Zhakul, where we fought the Hybrid Maar, who wasn't much of a threat since we have a high-tech Protoss army with strong air units like Carriers, while Maar mostly attacked on his own and the Protoss under his command didn't do much. Speaking of said strong air units, we forgot to thank Arcaneum for retreiving the Mothership from the Tchita Uplands, and Vendily from finding our Carrier fleets buried beneath Meteor Lake. Thank you both.

We received a large quantity of treasure this mission, but little of it was of any quality. We begun by reactivating the abandoned Protoss buildings, the first of which was a Dark Shrine, which gave us the Light & Darkness ability for Sora, one of only two treasures this mission of any value. The Robotics Facility had a Super Potion for 5qwerty's FireRed, and the Templar Archives had a Compass for the Tower of Hera. Moving forward, we fought Maar and got a Stardrop for CoolKid, the other valuable treasue. We then destroyed the southwest base for a Leather Gorget for Arcaneum in FF12.

Moving on to the Preservers, we broke their crystalline prisons and got a TinyMushroom for 5qwerty's FireRed, a Tamato Berry for Arcaneum's LeafGreen, and an Energy Cell Pack for Doomguy. Finally, the crystalline shards were gathered up and gave us a tiny bonus to our starting minerals.

After the battle, we recieved a request for two treasures from Setsuna, one from the planet Valhalla and another from the space station Char Aleph. While we don't have immediate access to either location, we'll scout the sector for them posthaste and retrieve the treasures as soon as possible.

There are no further enemies to fight on Zhakul. We're keeping it as a space pirate base, but there will be no further missions here.

Mission 30/83: For Aiur!

We return now to the planet Aiur, raiding a Zerg hive cluster for treasure and for any possible leads on the locations of Valhalla and Char Aleph. This was a quick no-build mission, and I started off with a massive Protoss army I used to demolish the Zerg without much effort.

The Zerg Hives had some treasures, but not nearly as important ones as the Warp Conduits that were the mission's primary objective. I first got 25 coins for Vendily, then got a TM42 (Dream Eater) for Raven. The third hive had an Energy Root for Arcaneum's LeafGreen, and the final hive had a Black Orb for Arcaneum's FF12.

The first Warp Conduit had a weak Mega Thunderball card for Arcaneum, and the second had an Energizer upgrade I can't use yet, but it was the third and final Warp Conduit that held the real prizes. First, I got access to Protoss Stalkers that had been trapped within Aiur's warp matrix up until now, and second, I got the Fog Badge for Jbsundown's Crystal, which grants the ability to use Surf out of battle. I'm surprised that the Zerg managed to defeat Morty, since Zerg are bugs and Ghost resists bug-type moves.

I received no leads as to the location of Valhalla and Char Aleph, though, so I will continue to explore Aiur in search of clues.

@Explorer of Time Just so you know, reading your mission updates is one of the biggest highlights of this whole multiworld thing for me, so thank you for doing them.

Thank you so much! Both for this and the Bunker you just sent me.

I'll try and get the next mission update up soon.

Mission 31/83: Templar's Return

We continue our exploration of Aiur, sending our heroes into three different parties.

Vorazun, initially scouting alone, ran into our rival Alarak, also alone, and the two decided to team up since both of their abilities were necessary to fight the Zerg and get the treasures of the Citadel. The two of them got a Cornn Berry for 5qwerty's FireRed, Lv. 1 Zerg Flyer Carapace for myself, and finally a Balatro card that would've gone to the already-completed James' playthough but got taken by Alarak as his share of the loot.

Next, we had Karax and Fenix explore the Temple Grounds, gather an army by hacking Khalai vehicles and structures, and fight the Khalai Protoss and Hybrid guarding it. This got us a Burrow upgrade for the Swarm Host for whenever I get access to them, and a powerful Great Moth Yu-Gi-Oh card for Arcaneum.

Artanis led the bulk of our forces to the caverns of Aiur, fighting Zerg and narrowly escaping a psionic storm to get us three treasures. First, he got us Lv. 1 Protoss Air Weapons, which slightly boost all our Protoss air unit attacks, and next we got an Island Obelisk for CoolKid, which we were able to transport extremely quickly by using it to warp itself straight from Aiur to Ginger Island, and from there it was only a very short flight to CoolKid's farm to drop it off. We're lucky the Zerg never figured out how to use this obelisk to invade and infest Stardew Valley, or we'd never have gotten all those items from Juno earlier. Finally, we got an Ether for Arcaneum in LeafGreen.

However, looking for leads on Valhalla and Char Aleph on Aiur turned out to be a dud. We'll leave the planet and look elsewhere, though we still plan to return to Aiur at a later date.

Once again I am now fully stuck, but I made a lot of progress in ALttP, and a good bit of cleanup in Z1. Good luck everyone!

Mission 32/83: The Great Train Robbery

(Note: To save time, I'm no longer going to insert Bulbapedia links for most items from Pokemon games since almost everyone here knows what they are, as well as for some duplicate items I've already linked to in previous updates, like currencies.)

This mission, my Terran armies from our base on the rooftops of Tarsonis descended to the surface, where in the wake of the Zerg that we drove off, the Terran Dominon has established a rail network transporting salvage offworld. We decided to do some scavenging of our own, then raid all of their trains looking for three treasures we want that they were transporting.

Our first order of business was to scavenge the Zerg Defiler skeletons and reactivate the six Diamondback hovertanks to look for any treasures they might hold. For 5qwerty, we found a Tropic Mail lodged in what used to be a Defiler skeleton's throat, and a Cheri Berry in a Diamondback. For Arcaneum in FF12, we found that one Defiler's skull qualified as a Death's Head, and picked up a Meterorite (A) that fell onto the roof of a Diamondback.

Another diamondback was stuffed full of Vespene Gas, which we extracted for ourselves, and a fourth's driver called in the Hel's Angels mercenary Vikings to assist us as thanks for refuling his Diamondback. The fifth had a Box of Bullets in the passenger seat which we sent to Doomguy. Sora's party got an Item Slot Up from the last diamondback; its deceased skeletal driver was a Sora cosplayer whose outfit had qute a lot of pockets, and we also sent Sora a Photon Debugger keychain that the last Defiler had been killed by. Fitting, because Zerg certainly are bugs, and Defilers even spread viruses.

Then it came time for us to raid the trains themselves, starting off with our six Diamondbacks and our Mercenaries but later on being bolstered by large numbers of Banshees and Marines. The second train gave us Warp Harmonization tech to make our Protoss Robotics Facilities and Stargates warp in units anywhere near a Pylon, a very valuable piece of technology. The fourth gave us a Max Revive for Arcaneum. At this point, we were bored waiting for the trains so we spent time destroying the Dominion bases in-between trains, and had them completely destroyed by the time they sent the eighth and final train. This last train had a Power Star for Mario.

We unfortunately didn't find a lead on Char Aleph or Valhalla this time either, but searching Tarsonis did narrow our potential sites significantly and there are only eight remaining possible locations for Setsuna's items. We're now going to send Nova to Sharpsburg to take down the last of the Defenders of Man and either find a lead, or narrow the possible locations to six.

Mission 33/83: The Escape

Another mission, still no sight of Valhalla or Char Aleph. We did at least narrow it down to six locations, which gives us a 1-in-3 chance of finding one next time. This mission, on Sharpsburg, is one of the last few no-build missions and gave me solo control of Nova, with three more AI-controled Ghosts as backup in the last section of the level. The last of the Defenders of Man didn't put up much of a fight, especially since Nova starts with much more equipment than I'd normally get in a non-randomized game, plus the Archipelago version of this map skips the Vulture segment for some reason.

The three Ghosts all had treasure for Arcaneum in their pockets, Delta and Stone had an HP Up and Magost Berry for LeafGreen, respectively, while Pierce had a Mooyan Curry Yu-Gi-Oh card, among the worst cards in the game.

Nova also picked up an Iron for Raven in their Gen 1 Kanto game early on, plus an Akashic Record for Goofy in KH2 later in the mission. After escaping and dropping the Akashic Record off with Goofy, Nova taught Sora how to perform an Aerial Recovery as well before heading back to the Koprulu Sector.

We have no other business on Sharpsburg and no buildings here, so there's no reason to stay here. We will not return to Sharpsburg. The Defenders of Man will also not return; we've all but completely destroyed them. Records do indicate that a single Ghost of theirs, the Warhawk pilot that ran away rather than fight us like he's supposed to, crash-landed on the planet Borea, but one guy doesn't exactly make an organization so he can't really be called the "Defenders of Man" all on his own.

Mission 34/83: Breakout

This mission technically doesn't get us any closer to Setsuna's items, but it's the easiest mission I have left and also one of the fastest, so I did it now before moving on to the next mission. This time, we had a solo mission as a Ghost, but not Nova like last time. Instead, my only unit was Gabriel Tosh, who is somewhat weaker, but I was backed up by the AI-controled Terran army of Raynor's Raiders, who were fighting Terran Dominion prison guards on New Folsom. I won this battle easily even though I was sloppy and Tosh took damage that he shouldn't have on several occasions.

There's not much in the way of loot here, since it's a short level. I got an upgrade for the Hercules transport, which I can't even build yet, and I also got a Protein for 5qwerty in FireRed. 5qwerty also got a Fragile Greed charm for Hollow Knight, and Arcaneum got a Pinewood Chop for FF12.

I left New Folsom behind, and will not return to it. For that matter, Gabriel Tosh defected to Raynor's Raiders after the battle, after finding out we fought his troops on Avernus Station. We won't use him again this Archipelago.
