Bad usernames.

For me, any name that I can't read/speak in one fluid motion is bad. Mostly happens on like gaming networks or whatever, but I like to call people by their username, and it's difficult if it doesn't roll off the tongue or is hard to remember. Numbers can get pretty excessive, especially to remember, after like 2 or 3.

I prefer simple usernames with only letters and spaces. I have a minor dislike for numbers, underscores, xxx's, etc. I don't fancy foreign or special unicode characters either, especially if I can't understand them and therefore don't recognize them easily. I also dislike being forced to copy and paste their name when I need to spell it out. Oh, and I find usernames like "xxxYolo_Swag420xxx" pretty funny if they're intended to be tongue-in-cheek.

I don't really like lack of capitalization (or overuse of capitalization) and more than two words mashed together without a space or underscore is too hard to parse. Even worse if lack of punctuation where it would be needed. So to me something like hithereimjack would be, like, the worst name.
You must dislike my username then. 8( I would add more spaces but that would make it too long unfortunately.

Or anything in the same genre, it's so overdone, especially in MMORPGs lol :)

I agree with what CC said, mostly. Jumble of characters that just stand out for being bad. I don't care about numbers unless they're excessive.

Also agree, I don't mind numbers and stuff (I have them in my name lol) but I can't stand when people just jarble something together.

Like most I find excess use of numbers and symbols annoying.I'm also not a fan of "L33t speak" in user names such as "Sup4hP1K4chu2231" < Real username scarred into my brain.

That.

Also, as much as I love the Japanese or Korean languages, I tend to not care for usernames that are in Japanese, or any other Asian language. Simply because I can't read them. Sure, I like the language, and it's like "oh neat", but I have no idea what they say, so for all I know it could say "bread", or "iamthebestpikachulol34". XD;

I've heard xxx refers to your skill at Call of Duty though. So xxxBlahISuckxxx would mean I badass no-scope throwing-knife everybody :P Also it would be incredibly contradictory, which is lulzy.

X's in usernames used to be an emo thing, but yeah, CoD might have it's own use for them. xD

Speaking of emo usernames, those bother me too.

Like

xXxLivingDeadGirlxXx

Yeah, noooot a good name, in my opinion.

People hate series of numbers, I feel like my old username was hated from the whole community, lol :(

I also hate usernamrs that are just a bunch of letters mashed up togeter like 00II00I0III, gglglglllgllglgl & IIIlllIIlllIII

If I ever do pick a stupid, "noob" username, I'll probably just do it to troll and confuse the hell out of everybody. (as if my current username isn't confusing already, but it is fairly unique if you know a bit of Korean and Pokemon.)

I don't think uniqueness is a requirement. Adventure is a normal English word, but I love this username :) I don't like the use of numbers in usernames, but the worst thing is special characters. Stars or weird letters that requires copypaste or special code to make. It can look cool, but become tedious to use.

I remember using the xXx(username)xXx layout once. It was weird.

I hated my old username as It had filler in it, which can ruin usernames. I also have a standard on uniqueness, so I don't approve of usernames like Pokemonfan473896348965439.

Random letters or numbers. To me it just seems the person didn't care enough. I also don't care to much to have numbers in names. Just seems weird.

An overuse of numbers, underscores, exclamation, or just general lack of uniqueness.
This. Ugh, they're the worst.

In addition to what's said above, I think a bad username is one that isn't personal and memorable. :/ I want to remember you people, I don't want you to fade away into... was that __Zelda_Lover_2i81941 or Zelda_Lover_99??
I think that the username should be memorable or personal to the user rather than to anyone else. If that person has a bright personality and is just a great friend all around, then I think you'd remember them even if their username was terrible. So it's like saying, "Your name is as great as you make it."

I agree on both points. Special characters just makes things more difficult, for the user and others who may need to type out that username. I also agree about the uniqueness of a name. Sometimes the most simplest of words or names can be great and unique in their own way. Sheep, Adventure, Strawberry, and Went all come to mind.

I generally think bad usernames are just names that were made very quickly with little to no thought put into them. These are usually names with lots of random letters and numbers used just so you could join a website and have little intentions to sticking around. For example, [supporter]jellicentfan1[/supporter] is a horrible username and why would anyone use it?
