    We all have this trait; we're all in a Pokemon forum before Go was released.

    yeah i'm aware. i do like twenty one pilots a lot. and i do like their music. i just don't listen to them /as often/ because the fandom. i understand that not every fandom member is like that trust me. i'm in the phandom (dan and phil fandom) and a lot of it gets generalized for being cringe or overbearing and i'm not like that, so i understand if you would get mad about my comment about fandoms.

    i started wearing bomber jackets before they came back into fashion but that's not a bad thing! it means they're easier to buy since they're everywhere for cheap :'D
     
    I liked Supernatural and Game of Thrones back when no one had heard of them. Supernatural is not as good anymore, GoT may have suffered because of the hype but still love it.
     
    I liked the NieR/Drakengard universe long before Automata came out. I also liked Pretty Cure before HeartCatch ruined the fandom. And I was into Marvel long before the MCU...although Marvel has always been kinda cool, it's just that now practically everyone is into it because of the lousy movies. Like how tons of people got into Pokemon with Pokemon Go. So I don't know if that really counts.

    Struggling to think of other things...most of the stuff I like still isn't cool.
     
    I was into a lot of things before they were "cool". Certain sports teams before they became contenders, certain musicians, and a bunch of other stuff. Heck, I have a hard time liking the newer stuff because it's all Rap and that is all about sexual stuff (not saying other types of music are not full of sexual stuff). I guess I am "old hat" lol.
     
    I don't think I was into things before they were cool because I always get into things as hype is dying down...
     
    I often like musics that become more popular after I started liking them. Not a good thing tho, they turn pop so I stop liking them tbh.

    I would have to agree with you... if you dislike the fandom, listening to the music reminds you of the fandom and its hard to enjoy the music as much.
