I wish I could learn German and have a German accent. I think it's a very interesting language unlike Spanish...

I can't stand them myself (the pounding they gave my team a few years ago didn't help at all, but I was already not liking them before that). I prefer Dortmund. By far. But damn, Bayern can play.

I don't think I could learn German well. Or any other language for the matter - English and Portuguese give me quite some work already, was never really good at languages (three years of French and can't say or understand one single sentence, as simple as it may be). And these two will be more than enough for my future life, so why bother.

Bayern is a team that you just can't stand or love it. Kind of like Manchester United, Barcelona, etc. (I hate Barcelona myself but they were unplayable around '08-'12)

I still respect Borussia Dortmund, though. Their progress in 5 years has been fantastic.

I might learn Japanese later in life. I already know an Asian language (Korean) so at least I have some sort of a starting point.

These are meh, honestly. Man Utd has been on a bad streak recently, I used to love Barcelona but they've been boring lately. I'd say that the international teams I like very much right now are Juventus, Dortmund and Atlético Madrid (you thought I would say Real, didn't you? I like C. Ronaldo, but not the team). Though I wonder if something bad will happen to Atleti once some crazy defender decides to hack off one of Diego Costa's legs. And Juventus has Pirlo - don't need to say much else (all-time favourite player, alongside Zlatan).
 
German actually has quite a lot of words which exist in English as well, yet over here in almost all cases the other variant is used;
desperate - "desperat", we'd say "verzweifelt"
obvious - "obviös", we'd say "offensichtlich"
and the list goes on...
The only case I know where it isn't that way is with recycle, we also use the verb "recyceln" even though we could use "rezyklieren"

Manchester United and Barcelona have been falling off recently (particularly Manchester United; Barcelona is still topping the La Liga table, but compared to '08-'12 you could say they have "fallen off") but they still have enjoyed fairly recent periods of success so they'll still be getting the hate for a while.

The teams you listed are pretty good as well. I'm not surprised that you listed Atletico Madrid as they're only behind Real Madrid (who has to rely on forwards, especially Cristiano Ronaldo, to get results) on goal difference at the moment. PSG and City are very good as well but I don't like them as a team because they outright bought success. I dislike Chelsea because well, every relative near seems to have some sort of weird religion-like affinity towards that club.

Under the one or other circumstances our language can actually sound quite gentle and soft/other languages can sound pretty angry and harsh as well :p
(I with my horrid accent would probably make any language sound like if it was written in caps lock)

This will be the textbook I'll use for German for next 3 semesters... for those who used this book, is it any helpful at all or is it just plain garbage?

My German pronunciation is non-existent because the only German I know is how to count to ten.
