Bubble tea :)

[PokeCommunity.com] Bubble tea :)

Oh, I actually got one a few days ago for my birthday! There aren't very many places around here to get boba, but back home they feel like they're a dime a dozen. I got a mango milk tea with regular pearls last time, but that was cause it was more of a special occasion and I wanted something I don't usually get. My typical order is a strawberry black tea in whatever the largest possible size is, the topping usually doesn't matter but it'll probably be regular pearls or sometimes coconut jelly because it's what my mom likes.

I'm a big sucker for milk tea in general! Most of the time if some place has some kind of sweet or fruity milk tea on the menu, I'm choosing between those. But I grabbed a hokkaido milk tea from a boba place once and I've never forgotten it since, it was really good. And I'm not sure if it's still around, but there was a place back home that offered pudding as a topping instead of things like jelly or pearls, and I used to love that. I'd get a chocolate milk tea or a strawberry shortcake milk tea with pudding and it was fantastic, slurping pudding through a straw is just really fun.

In terms of other kinds, I'll usually be open to ordering black or white teas since I've had them more often and enjoy them hot or cold, but funnily enough green tea isn't usually my thing. I feel like it has to be really good and whatever flavour it is has to work really well for me to still enjoy it. I blame my sweet tooth.

Unfortunately, I'm one that does not get the hype for boba tea. I've had it twice before, and it was all right. It tasted good. I didn't mind the boba in either one that I had. But it wasn't something that I made a note of to have again.

These days, I don't drink caffeine at all, so my options are extremely limited when it comes to tea. I'd rather not risk it by trying to order anything. And it's not like I really want boba tea, so I don't feel the need to hassle everyone by trying to find that one shop that will have a decaf option that I can drink.

I simply adore milk tea! I live in Thailand and so I have it quite often, as it is popular here. However, I typically prefer to drink milk tea without pearls/boba. I'm not particularly a fan of the texture of boba, despite my attempts to convince myself otherwise. My favourite flavours of milk tea include: Hokkaido, Taiwanese, caramel, brown sugar, and earl grey! <3

In Seoul I recently tried hot milk tea which was heavenly. Perfect for a chilly, winter day. I highly recommend!

I love my bubble tea and now I am craving some! My favorite boba shop had two locations, one about 5 minutes away and the other 30 minutes away. Unfortunately, my weekly purchases were not enough to keep their doors open and they had closed the location near me last year. Now, I literally will drive out of my way for amazing jasmine green tea with boba pearls! I've tried a several other boba shops nearby, but the quality and consistency does not begin to compare!

I enjoy it too (just not quite as much as Sheep, haha). Certainly I've had some disappointing ones - a few have tasted more like milk than anything else, so you do need to land a place that knows how to make the milk ones. But the green fruit teas are nice too. Mango is definitely a flavour I like to go with, but taro is another fav I go with.

I don't often go for the boba or other toppings either. Sometimes I like some of the jellies like lychee ones, but I'm happy with just the liquid... well, cream cheese topping can be very nice too I suppose, haha.
