Kitties are better.

With that said, I'm allergic to both, but I've had problems with dogs (even the cute little ones) trying to attack me.

I seriously read that as chinchilla. x3 That being said, get a chinchilla. :D The name Pikachu would suit will with a chinchilla. Or go with the kitty. Cats are low maintenance, you don't have to take them for walks like you would a dog. If you want to avoid constant grooming and brushing stay away from longhair cats, go with one with short hair like a Korat or Japanese Bobtail. ~Meow =^-^=
 
Chinchillas also sound like another good choice for pets. They're small, handful and cute!

I agree with the long-haired kitties, Osha. They do require a lot of grooming.
 
Oooh. A Chinchilla would make an adorable Pikachu. That being said...do you think it is animal cruelty to dye your pet's fur? I want to be a PokeTrainer for Halloween. My Hubby and I go to almost cosplay like levels for our costumes each year and it would be awesome if I could "dress up" my chinchilla too.
Some people say using people products on pets is like animal testing. I dont want to be cruel...

I wouldn't recommend it. but as long as it doesn't hurt the animal, I guess it's not cruelty. Just make sure there aren't any harmful chemicals that might affect it.
 
I suppose it would make a good minccino without any alterations....

Also, Halloween is fine, but I wouldn't recommend bringing your cosplay pet to any sort of anime convention... I'm not sure about pet policies (I would imagine they wouldn't be allowed) but those cons are so crazy and hectic the chances of losing the little guy in the confusion is too high.
 
Yeah, definitely don't use any human products. There are some safe ways to color your pet's fur. They have special dye for your pets you can buy that are safe. There's also a method to dye your pet's fur using food color. Safe to use, seeing how it is edible, after all.

Agree on not bringing a pet to a con. Although.. Anyone familiar with Ai, from Popotan, and her furry friend Unagi? I've seen someone cosplay as her and had a ferret in place of Unagi. FYI, Ai kept Unagi in her cleavage. @_@

Who would bring a pet to a con? There's people filling every inch of those.
...Well, if you keep your pet in your cleavage, that's a different matter.
 
Lol. I do not have sufficient cleavage to house a chinchilla! Also, this is for halloween. Both my hubby and I suffer from social anxiety disorder and I also have social clautrophobia...so neiher of us attend cosplay.
 
I find that black cats don't like me. I'm fine with every other cat, but black ones just seem to hate me :/

I'm good with animals, and they all seem to like me, just not dark gray and black cats. They seem to hate me. A lot. And they tend to attack me D:
 
On the topic of black cats..did you know that they are 50% more likely to be put-down in shelters because of people's supersticions?

Those poor kitties. ;_; When I am old enough and financially stable enough to get a cat, I am going to get two cats that I know won't get adopted <3

I saw a cat when I was getting my current cat that only had one eye. It probably never got adopted. I WOULD HAVE ADOPTED IT! It was so cute.

I want a black cat though. They win.

That's a bloody sobering statistic. I was enraged when I first read that- as my rage my have indicated, I'm a passionate animal-lover and animal-rights supporter. It just gets to me so much that people can be so selfish with animals just because they're not people. I can't believe people actually believe that ****, too. Since when a colour of an animal became a test of luck? -__-

I have three cats of my own- I found them when they were three days old in the back of a shed. So I kind of understand the different feeling between buying a primp and proper one from those questionable pet shops, as opposed to adopting one from a shelter. I'll definitely stick with the latter when it comes to pets.
