Actually, Brit. Lit. isn't so bad :3 I think I did pretty well on my test on Sonnets, and I got a 99 for my test on the Medieval Age/Chaucer/The Canterbury Tales.

And to be honest, two of my textbooks are awesome: My Religion textbook (though there are quite a few typos, and it isn't hardcover or anything) and my Forensics textbook (real life cases and the like).

Educational textbooks, such as Chemistry textbooks, or in my case an Anatomy textbook.

:DDDD!!!!!!!!! Me too!!!! I love Anatomy books! And psychology books <3
:C The only books I find to be boring are Canadian history books..

when did i say anything about real life? :/

irl for me, only about two people i know like anime/manga.

am i the only one who's reading these comments against textbooks and manga and assuming textbooks to be the more educational type of reading material? or is it hardback books on things that aren't used to educate that everyone's referring to?

Well, textbooks would be the traditional medium for "learning", but I personally have learned a few life lessons from a few different mangas I've read..

If that's what you meant.

Hey, some manga teaches life lessons.

If they made textbooks more fun, I'd read 'em more. As I said before, my Forensics and Religion textbooks are fun to read. My Algebra II textbook? Not so much. My one English textbook is OK too, but because it's used the highlighting in there makes me sick.

well, life lessons can in truth come from anything. i've learned life lessons from pop music before. i was more so talking about educational nourishment in cores, like history, mathematics, biology, etc.

Kura, I think means anime/manga like Mushi-Shi, manga/anime with a meaning.

=___= It's a story. Obviously it's gonna have a moral. That's like saying I get all my life lessons from reading Aesop fables and Goldielocks and the Three Bears..
It's VERY legitimate.. but also kinda primitive.

Look at all the grammatical errors on this page xD
I like anime for entertainment.

learning life lessons and all is very essential, but watching anime and reading manga only goes so far as far as nourishment to the human mind is concerned... so it's very limited. i won't deny that a good manga is something that can be very entertaining, and the fact that it's entertaining could be the reason that one would choose it rather than something that could end up to be boring and something that would put them to sleep, but it's more rewarding to someone to decide to go for the latter.

I think we have a winner.

We have multiple winners.
