Never been to a convention before, don't plan to anytime soon. Unless there's deals on anime that the conventions may be selling then I might go provided they sell anime to begin with.
 
Every story I hear about an anime convention makes it sound obnoxious. Like, I think I would want to hit someone. I'm all for enjoyin' yourself, but dang, the anime conventions here in Louisiana just sound annoying.
 
I went to an anime convention once.

And only once.
 
I'm sure it depends on who you go with or encounter when you go to an anime or gaming convention that determines what your experience is. And, of course, Andy's experience may have been soured by the fact that there weren't really any pretty gay boys for him to hit on.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to cosplay to go to a con, but you'd probably get weird looks if you didn't. Never been to one yet myself

What amazes me is how people can afford to have different cosplays at all 6 local conventions here throughout the year. Most of these conventions charge around $40 per advance ticket!

I have been running around and doing so much stuff for 3 hours now. Only just managed to clear it all and sit down!

No, I'm definitely coming. Just don't know which day as of yet. Got nothing better to do in that time, so might as well pop down. I have noooooooo idea what to expect, though.

I'm just glad the entry price is £10 as opposed something ridiculous...

Most people actually don't cosplay to conventions. At least the ones I've been to; Anime North's cosplay to normalclothes ratio is about 65(normal) to 35(cosplay)%
Fanexpo is about 80%(normalclothes) to 20%(cosplay)

That's what I've always gathered, pretty much.

I wouldn't have the time or patience it takes to make a costume in order to cosplay, as much as I actually would like to. Plus it costs all kinds of money that I don't have. :c
