I've yet to find people with every last nerdy interest I have... but I've come close in certain areas! Which is a feat considering how nerdy my interests get.

I'm quite lucky in that respect, I have a small group of friends who share nerdy interests such as games, especially Pokémon, then Dr Who and, to a much lesser extent, even animé. They also share some parts of my crazy varied music taste and like the same 'normal' interest e.g. football.

God knows how I managed to find any friends like that.

I've seen a couple episodes from the reboot, but my friend and I plan to have a marathon of the reboot soon so I can get caught up.

I've seen the first ten minutes of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I can only get the "I'm not dead!" references as of now.

I had my mom watch The Meaning of Life with me....she was not impressed, haha.

Monty Python is a classic, I haven't watched them all but I've watched parts of Meaning Of Life and I can just imagine how funny the others can be.

I dunno, I watched some Monty in Geometry at school, I don't know if I like that kind of humor.

It's more "ALRIGHT, IIIIGLESIAS WITH AN 'I'" for me

I always hear people talking about how great Monty Python, yet I know nothing about it. Was it really that great?

I've only seen The Life Of Brian and The Holy Grail but both of those were hilarious. I think it might just be something almost everyone can appreciate.

John Cleese is also awesome in general.

But I don't play recent games so I don't fit into gamer subclass either. Believe me when I say I've tried to find an appropriate group of friends who share my interests but it's not possible to find the Toujours subclass of nerds because I'm the only one lol.

Why would anyone want to fit in for the sake of fitting in, though? There's no use classing people.. and.. just like what you like. I mean.. that's how you'll find the genuine friends.. you guys don't need to like the same stuff. Good friends will always indulge in what you like and actually be interested in it even if it's not always their first go-to thing.

Yeah yeah good friends will like you regardless of interests and all that inspirational stuff but when all your friends are talking about some show you've never seen 90% of the time it's not as much fun to be around them. Or games you've never played, or movies you've never watched. It's just not fun. There's a reason why most people find their friends out of mutual interests.

If your friends don't like the things you like, then they're not really friends.

Yeah I get that.. it's nice to fangirl about stuff once in a while. But honestly? If 90% of the time that's really all they can talk about.. then heck I see them caring more about their things than the friendship- or at least, that's what it was when I was experiencing that with some people in school. It's not worth it.. and if they're not even making an effort to include you in what they're talking about.. or make an effort to explain or introduce you, then they obviously just want someone to share their obsessions with. Not going to go too deep into this here, but otherwise you go through this effort of trying to "give and take" a little, to appease them and hopefully grow closer, but at the end of the day they don't care who they're talking to about it- and you feel like the friendship was never really a friendship at all.. which is the shittiest feeling. Feels like you wasted all that time and those emotions caring.

Yeah.. mutual morals is what I go for. You don't wanna kill a man? You're cool in my books!

But as far as nerds go? : | Heck I'm pretty nerdy as heck. Newest episode of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters? (Japanese power rangers) .. I'M SO THERE! I mean.. who doesn't love a pizza-cutter metavirus monster that tries to rampage on a city.. and a guy in a suit as the megazord? My friends don't like that crap. But I'll tell them about it and we'll laugh together at the ridiculousness of it. (Even though I still do enjoy watching it on a more serious note) But doesn't mean they're not close to me.

Its absurdest humour. So, your mileage may very.

I like Holy Grail and Life of Brian. I don't remember finding The Meaning of Life funny at all. And for the sketches... I like them in small doses or in highlights-only format - like And Now For Something Completely Different.

I know you mean well but please don't try to hypothesize on my friendships, okay? Relationships are far more complex than what can be conveyed in 2-3 sentences, so trying to give me advice that I didn't ask for based on a very basic summary of a problem I have sometimes isn't really helpful lol. :(

Edit: Cello I feel like you'd like Monty Python. Very...British though, haha.

"Walks in thread."

"Hears about Monty Python."

"Feels obligated to post this clip."

Enjoy.

Oh and friendships/relationships can be amongst the most complicated things a person can experience in their lifetime imo, yeah I know halfassed opinions ftl.

Snorlax, aren't you technically already talking about it on here? ;)

If you don't like talking about it on here, then why do you keep posting saying you don't like talking about it on here? :|

Let's talk about cuddly toys.

Specifically, teddy bears.
