Creeped out. Really, really creeped out.

See, my mom has been fighting an infection for a couple days now. To distract myself from the stress, I began writing out a fic based on the one Italian Pokémon fan game. You may recall I was very enthusiastic about it too, because I'd been planning it ever since I did my first run of the game in January and I had just found a way around the kind of messy plot. Thing is, whenever I'd put hands to work on it or play the fan game proper to get the "feel" for my writing... she'd start feeling worse out of nowhere. Conversely, on the days I'd stop working on it because I was too busy, she'd feel better. I told her about this and she said not to mind because there's no correlation, that it's just a funny coincidence, and so on and so forth.

Well, I'm not convinced. Here's what happened from last night to this morning.

Before going to bed last night, I showed her all the cast of the game to see what she thought of them. Even though she said she wasn't tempted to play the game, which is okay because she's never even played the main series games, I was still damn happy, especially because she liked "the cyborg, the Ghost leader, and the Water starter." Seeing her reaction made me want to tempt fate and devote today to finishing the first "chapter" of the fic.

Come this morning, she's complaining of pains again and seriously considering going to hospital despite the extremely windy weather. As a result, I got really freaked out and deleted the game itself, what I had written of the fic up until yesterday, all the reference documents for the fic, my image folder with pictures related to the game, a WIP review I had hanging around since earlier this year and my entire YouTube watch history, without her knowing. Now, she's sleeping well with little pain, and she'll likely go for a check tomorrow instead. It's good that she feels better, but... *shivers*

You know what the creepiest part is? This year started out on not-so-good-terms for me - up to and including my thrice-vaccined father having a breakthrough COVID infection. You know what Pokémon fan game I was playing through at that time? The Italian fan game.

Needless to say, I'm not redownloading that game or touching it even with a ten-foot pole EVER again. I'm all kinds of scared right now, and pretty depressed too. I just really, really wanted to tell my own version of the story, and I can't do it if this keeps happening to me; I've just lost all my enthusiasm for it. Seems that all I'll remember about this game in the end is how it led to me living through a goddamn real-life creepypasta.
