Ever cried because of a Pokémon game?

Games can make us cry for a lot of reasons. Maybe that wild shiny you found used Roar (or you finally got the shiny you were hunting ages for!), you finished up a game you had tons of fun with which made you realize there was nothing left, or parts of a story really touched you. Did anything in the games make you cry?

I don't particularly recall any moments that made me cry.

The ending to the mystery dungeon games can make me feel quite somber. You spend lots of time with the partners.

[PokeCommunity.com] Ever cried because of a Pokémon game?

I have actually, I cry pretty easy especially when it comes to media I get really invested in. The endings of RSE, DPPt, BW, and Explorers of Sky have made me cry before, mostly from the music.
I've also cried at a couple points in X and Y. One was hearing the piano version of Jubilife City in Snowbelle because of how much that city and its music means to me, and one day going through Route 15 the music made me cry because I associated that song with someone in my life and we had both gone through a lot at that point. It helped me get a lot out of my system.

i have cried a bit, but not in an official game. besides, the only og pokemon games i played ( emerald, fire red, and barely any of mystery dungeon red rescu team (played a free wii game as well where your thrown into its hardest challenge at the begining of the game with only a weak, low leveled pikachu, cant remember the name)), i have never fully beat. farthest ive gotten in emerald was just before gym 3. however, i did cry (many times) while playing pokemon reborn. all i can say without spoiling its amazing story is that an ex gym leader dies a tragic death a few gyms in, and i got attached to the man's character. i also cry now because i am stuck on gym 3 or 4, which is bug type, and cant get passed its leader, as she uses double battle format, and sets rain, and outspeeds me.if you know what i am talking about, i am glad someone else knows my pain

Hands down the ending of the first pokemon mystery dungeon. After spending the game with the cast of characters and even saving the world, the ending hurts so much. Especially because you are told about how it will all play out. Before the final dungeon of the story you are told that even if you succeed there's nothing you can do to change the ending. I think that is what always stuck with me when it comes to writing great and sad endings. It's what motivated me to do my best in Sky Tower, and to try to embrace what could've been the last adventure with my partner and other team mates. As for mainline game endings, I am not too sure. I remember getting teary eyed with the ending of Black 1, but I think it was mainly the music. Then there's the ending with XY which got me teary eyed as well, but that was mainly because of AZ's character. The rest of the game's story felt undercooked and lacking good moments, but that last moment with AZ is what the game needed. Kind of wished the rest of the story felt as impactful.

I might've teared up slightly when a Shiny Graveler in Pearl offed itself. I'd never failed a Shiny before, and at that point hadn't found many Shinies period. Found a Shiny Machoke within minutes though and was fine.

Might've also teared up a little when a Shiny Quagsire in Platinum's Great Marsh fled, though I was more angry than anything else.

I was close to peeling onions at the third stage of the fight with Eternatus when the music dramatically changed and either Zacian/Zamezenta joined in. It was sooo good!

For sure. AZ dropping to his knees followed by the absolutely sweet poem at the end of X & Y did it. End of ORAS definitely got me, Hoenn means a lot to me and the fact that they added the scene of you walking with your rival before giving us an actual final battle was emotional for me. Lillie saying goodbye at the end of Sun & Moon did it too, that picture of her at the end meant more to me than I expected. So yeah, for all people say about the mistakes of the modern direction of the games, the 3DS era made me the most emotional.

During the games, not really, though the soothing music of gen II always sounded very bittersweet to me, and the ending of Sun/Moon made me a bit emotional, I really liked that story. Still didn't cry though. Now, the anime has made me cry an... embarrassing amount of times lol. Mostly out of nostalgia. Indigo league especially, though there was one Journeys episode that had me sobbing like a little kid (JNS05 Distant Blue Sky). I guess I need the emotional connection to the characters/story to cry, and sadly the games don't really give me that.

No, never. I have raged at some of the more idiotic characters in the games, including swearing at the imbeciles, but I don't think that counts.

I will offer the caveat that I haven't cried IRL since move-in day of my junior year at college when I dropped a heavy box on my foot.

The ending of Scarlet, for as much as I consider it the worst game in the series by a long shot overall, had me almost crying, for the touching interaction between the Professor('s copy) and their kid...
