Welcome to the third annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in Pokémon General, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

Spoiler:

• Every week, two new polls will be stickied at the top of Pokémon General. Each thread will include a different elemental type, and the list of Pokémon to vote from.
• You aren't required to pick just one Pokémon- you can vote for as many as you like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pokémon with the most votes at the end of the week will face off against the other winning Pokémon in a final poll to crown the champion!
• In order to preserve space, we've grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pokémon family together. Some Pokémon (ex.: the Nidoran families) may be exempt from this rule.
• In the event of a tie at the end of the week, Brendino will have the tie-breaking vote.
  
• Furthermore, members who vote and post for a majority of weeks during the tournament will receive an emblem depicting the winning Pokémon!
• If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to Brendino to get it sorted out.

NOTE: Because of the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon have been included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Bug-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Scizor and Genesect for me. Bug/Steel is an awesome typing and these two prove it by being the best bugs competitively. I also picked Accelgor due to its speed, access to Spikes and its design.

Other, because honestly I don't really like any of the Bug pokemon.

This was what I voted for.

Caterpie/Metapod/Butterfree: A true classic, and it was always a useful Pokemon in the Kanto games. No wonder why I still love Butterfree today.

Yanma/Yanmega: I always loved the design of this thing, and having high speed and offense makes it a pretty threatening big bug indeed.

Heracross: Has a unique type combination, and a true badass.

Wurmple line: I mostly like Dustox and Beautifly out of this line. Both are cute and have their differences, aside from a unique split evolution that involves personality value that you literally have no idea about.

Surskit/Masquerain: Am I really the only one who likes this thing? Masquerain has a cute and very original design, plus Surskit having a unique type combo makes them not just adorable but individuals as well.

Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny: I loved most of Unova's Bug-types and these cuties were no exception. I was someone who liked the theme concept behind the line, and the fact happiness is needed to evolve into Leavanny as well.

Venipede/Whirlipede/Scolipede: Another awesome Bug, with a badass look and some strong attacks to go with it.

Larvesta/Volcarona: More unique types here, but it's also majestic and a formidable Quiver Dance user.

Scatterbug/Spewpa/Vivillon: I love Vivillon not just for its adorableness but also the many different wing patterns. It's a nice unique form and it makes players want to work together to collect them all.

scizor, shedinja, and volcarona

i really like steel-type pokémon and scizor looks cool, which is why i chose it over the other bug/steel-types

shedinja is unique since it has one hp in the games is basically the ghost of nincada's shell filled with void, which is pretty cool 8)

last but not least, volcarona's sun design is really nice and fire/bug is an interesting combo and i like how they chose a moth/sun to represent that combo

 

[Hiatus]

For a long time, I feel Volcarona will be my most favorite bug-type. Its typing is combined with fire, which I find to be unique, and its design seems to represent that pretty well. Battling-wise, Volcarona could become unstoppable with only one set-up by using Quiver Dance. Scizor line is my second favorite, with Vivillon being third.

No love for Spinarak? I remember how awesome I thought it was when I encountered one at night in my first file on Silver. It's got a face on it's thorax! I suppose technically it shouldn't be a bug type at all, since it's a spider, but nonetheless...

Volcarona, fluffy moths are friends. I also think it's pre evo, Larvesta, is very cute.

I've always liked the Venonat line. idk, I find it pretty cool.

Most of my favorite Bug types are from gen V. Leavanny, Scolipede, Galvantula, Volcarona, they all have cool designs which really says something since I rarely want to use bug type Pokemon, but they're just too cool to pass up. Plus they're much more powerful than your regular same old bug-types, only surpassed by a few.

Last but not least, Vivillon 'cause hhnngghh patterns <3

I would've voted Other for Armaldo but I forgot... plus I think Armaldo's better suited in the Rock-type poll anyway. :P

I voted for both the Venipede line and the Larvesta line.

Venipede's final evolution was pretty useful to me. It also has a cool looking design.

Both Larvesta and Volcarona were cool IMO. Their typing was very unique along with their design.

Here are my votes :D

Volcarona Line - The only bug type I truly love. Volcarona is simply amazing! Her stats are simply through the roof and when she starts Quiver Dancing, well, that's about it for the enemy :P I can't tell you how much I love this Pokemon. One of my favourite Pokemon, ever.

Genesect - I'm always surprised this can be a bug type xD It's a really cool Pokemon and it's got a pretty good design too.

Vivillion Line - It's pretty.

I voted for many of them but thanks to Roxie and her gym one of my favorite Bug types is Scolipede.

I think Joltik and Galvantula are the only bug types that I have any feelings other than "eh okay" for. xD; I really love them and usually train them in my Gen 5 playthroughs. Joltik is soooo cute! And Galvantula is really cool!

I also just really like spiders even in real life, so electric type spiders? Sign me the heck up.

I voted for Scyther and Heracross because those two look really freaking cool. Also Bug/Fighting on Heracross is always a plus.

I voted for Scyther/Scizor and Scolipede. Even though I don't raise them, I do like both of their designs. Fighting Scizor in the Ranger games is always fun and I like going Scyther hunting in HG/SS during the bug hunting competitions lol.


Would've voted for Beautifly too, but I didn't see it. o3o

Scyther line - Scizor has a really awesome design, with bulk that is rare among Bug types. Its Steel typing is also what makes it a favorite to me.

Shuckle - Takes hits like a complete tank, despite weakness to common types. Shuckle is one of my favorite competitive 'mons because of how well it can hold its own against attack-oriented opponents and wear them down with residual damage.

Heracross - Used to be great cover for my Dragons against Ice Pokemon. Simply switch out and smash 'em with Brick Break :) Not that useful anymore because of Fairies being introduced, but still one of my favorite bugs.

Nincada line - For Ninjask's blinding speed and the unique method of obtaining Shedinja. Also a bug from Hoenn, so I have an attachment to its line.

Venipede line - Possibly the only bug Pokemon line that ever made me tremble in fear upon encounter. Seriously, Scolipede hit like a truck in the 5th Gen games. Unexpectedly fast too.
