Favorite Pokemon Move

There's 617 moves? I didn't know that.

I'd have to say that my favorite would be Bolt Strike. Ya know, because I love Zekrom. But the nice thing about it is that its the most powerful physical Electric attack in the game, and physical Electric attacks don't have as good a distribution as the special ones (ie. Thunderbolt), not to mention there's not a whole lot of good Electric physical attackers in general.

I tend to use a lot of Psychic. It's my go to for some reason. Always has been. Phantom Force is another favorite of mine.

I have a few I really like XD

Leaf Blade: Though not the best Physical Grass move, I fell in love with this in Ruby because of how many KOs my Sceptile could rack up with it. I thought it was the coolest move ever, haha. Even now, I still think it's pretty neat, and I'll usually teach it to Physical attackers.

Quiver Dance: Fell in love with it because of its Japanese name (Butterfly Dance; it sounds soooo pretty), and it's also my favorite stat-boosting move. +1 in Special Attack, Special Defense, AND Speed? Can be pretty scary if utilized well.

Shadow Force: My fave signature move; I'm not typically a fan of two-turn moves because the opponent (particularly another player) can easily switch into something that resists it or use Protect or something, but this move bypasses Protect, looks cool, and belongs to one of my all-time fave legendaries.

Ice Beam. I like it, it's a neat move that can easily KO in the right conditions. I also like Recover, Psychic, Leaf Blade and Metronome.

Either dragon pulse or flamethrower, because I imagine a huge dragon type terrorizing cities with them.

Oh, man, there's a lot. First, I'll start off with Dynamic Punch. This move's accuracy is extremely low, so chances of you striking it wouldn't be that likely. However, if you've got No Guard ability, then you should have no problem using it; every time you use, it'll always land. Not only does this wreck some major damage, but it also leaves your opponent confused afterwards, making it hard for them to hit you. If they're unable, they'll hurt themselves, and give you one free turn. How great is that? Only thing bad is that not much Pokémon could learn this attack, and those who do don't usually have No Guard. As of right now, Machamp and Golurk are the only ones I could think of. Personally, I like former more; it might be easy to take down, but its offenses are heavy.

My second favorite attack Draco Meteor. Its base-power is gargantuan, and has high rate of knocking down your opponent with just one strike. It sharply reduces your Special Attack stat, though, but that's nothing to worry about; it'll be reverted as soon as you switch back. Due to that, I also like Overheat and Leaf Storm; they're all basically same, but only with different typing.

Aside from competitive reasons, I'm a pretty big fan of Metronome. By utilizing it, you'd be able to strike with any Pokémon move at random, and that, to me, is pretty intriguing, as you'd never know what you might wind up with. With this, you could even explode yourself and faint!

Draco Meteor's animation strikes fear into the hearts of even Fairy types, who are usually immune to Dragon type moves. Granted DM won't touch your pixie, but it still looks really powerful and packs a punch to all things not a part of the Fairy or Steel type. I like Psyshock because I also like Psystrike, and guess what Psyshock is? A weaker Psystrike for more Pokemon to learn. I love the idea of it hitting on the physical Defense side while being a special Attacking move, meaning it can cause severe damage to Pokemon that are otherwise crazy bulky on the special side, like Chansey/Blissey. The move animation's pretty sick too.

Honourable mention to the aforementioned Shadow Force - it belongs to one of my top 5 legendary Pokemon, and I like how it's a high powered physical Ghost type move (there's only like...4), so it gave us something extra to a lacking part of a type. Also, I like the whole 'whoosh' sound effect that comes with the move...it reinforces the point that the Pokemon's actually disappeared into thin air.

My current favourite move has to be Flame Charge. It is an incredibly strong move for my Braixen's current level and it makes me quicker than my opponent.

If a Pokémon has enough HP and defenses to take hits decently and can learn a recovery move (that isn't Rest) then it's learning that recovery move. If it can't learn a recovery move but learns an HP draining move it gets that instead.

I don't know why, but overall my favorite move is Drain Punch. Though it does bother me that so there are so many Fighting-type Pokémon that are compatible breeding partners with Mienfoo which learns it by leveling up, yet only like 3 of them can get it as an egg move.

Drain Punch is amazing, in my opinion (so are every other move that drains opponents' energy, whether it be physical or special). To me, this is what makes Pokémon like Conkeldurr so useful.

Thunderbolt has been my favorite move since the second generation. It's powerful and has 100% accuracy but the icing on the cake is that it's an electric move so auto brownie points for being my favorite type. I've relied on it on so many Pokemon throughout the games and it has almost never let me down. :3

One of my favorites is Freeze-Dry, one of the new Gen VI moves. This move is really useful on some Water types who think they'll be switching in to resist a predicted Ice Beam, instead taking huge damage from this strange move. It hits 5 different types supereffectively with 0 Pokemon being immune. That's why I love this move.

Thunderbolt's a classic! It's very easy to find, a lot of Pokémon could learn it, generally. Plus, it has ten-percent chance of paralyzing your foe. It might not be that great, but it's still there, though, so it's definitely better than nothing.

I don't think I've ever tired this one before, sadly. Have heard that it has a pretty decent chance of freezing opponents, though, which is great.

Ara, ara..i really love the ??? move... Its really helpful when you fight with high defence/health pokemon...

It's so hard to choose just one! I like all these moves best:

Calm Mind: Have you seen the animation for this move from Pokemon X / Y? It's just stunning (and in a way reminds me of yoga). Calm Mind is one of those moves that any special sweeper (with access to it) can benefit from. Not only do you increase their offensive potential, but also make them harder to kill on the special side. I just really like this move for some reason. ^^

Flamethrower: Classic Fire-type move is classic. It might not be as strong as some other Fire attacks out there (Fire Blast, Flare Blitz, etc.), but it's still a reliable attack. And the small chance of burning something is also a nice touch.

Recover: Your Pokemon only has a sliver of health left. Your opponent is ready to deliver the finishing blow, feeling confident in their abilities and ready to taste victory. Surprise! Your opponent watches in anger as your Pokemon gains nearly all its health back! In all seriousness though, this is such a great move for any bulky Pokemon to have. It has no drawbacks and keeps your Pokemon fighting fit for much of the match. You just can't go wrong with Recover!

Draco Meteor: I've always been interested in astronomy, and pounding my opponents into the ground with a bunch of falling meteors is pretty satisfying. It's strong, has reliable accuracy, and can be learned by many Dragon-types. What's not to love (besides the special attack drop...)?

Draco Meteor, Outrage, and Close Combat are my favorite moves, since they all pack quite a punch! Whenever one of my Pokemon can learn any of these moves I always use them (with the except of DM or Outrage, not both). Plus, Draco Meteor always has great animations. Thunderbolt/Ice Beam are tied for second, because they are also powerful with great accuracy and coverage.

This is a very tough decision, but I think my favorite move in the game is Ice Beam. Awesome power, can freeze the foe and has plenty of types it inflicts super-effective damage against. It's a move I always like having on my Pokémon when they can learn it.

That's all I have right now, I could probably think of more if I wanted.

Overheat for dayzzz. I have been in love with that move since Gen III. So OP when you give it to a Blaziken that has Speed Boost.
