What I do know about the artificial island is that the white mansion on it is the same one we saw in a piece of concept art that came out at the time the games were announced.
It is? Maybe if it is a battle frontier (as some people have speculated) it'll be some facility. The big building could be the battle tower.

If you are talking about the water based one, no. I don't think that is it. Trees are around and there is no fountain. The building from the concept art is on the 2nd Island just north of the Western most town on second island.

I am also saying September 1st now. Unless they still surprise us Thursday or Friday.

I damn well hope so. u_u I can't imagine where else there would be a battle facility unless it's hidden somewhere...

Maybe a separate post game island you travel to? I just hope it exists in this game in some form.

Speaking of... does it seem like we'll be exploring a lot more islands than just the four shown on the map? I feel like there are some hidden areas.

I feel like we might. We already have the ability to freely travel between 4 islands, why not a few more? we could have a boat take us there for example. (also isn't there more islands hinted at being hidden behind the clouds?)

Nothing stopping them from revealing a hidden part of the map that contains more islands for the post game. There is a lot of water between these islands, we can't see what is off to the north, south, east or west which could easily be a location for more islands.

This tweet by Nintendo France seems to be hinting at a possible starter evolution reveal soon. It could just be a throw away comment but a lot of people believe that they are subtly hinting at something.

When I saw this I was trying not to get my hopes up for a September 1st trailer. I think it is possible for GF to reveal starter evolutions a bit earlier than usual since they have become more and more aggressive with the hype season.

If we do get middle evolutions so soon, in may indicate split evolutions. (especially since Rockruff's secret is about to be revealed on the 15th in CoroCoro, which may be leaked around the 12th.) Either way, we will probably know soon. If nothing is mentioned about split evolutions in CoroCoro, then we'll likely be getting standard final evolutions.

The whole reason why starter evolutions are usually not revealed too early is to spoilage, but if there are multiple evolutions (I am thinking just a split night/day forme/evolution) there will be twice as much to potentially spoil than usual.

As far as I know, we mostly had starter middle evolutions revealed only close to release but having them revealed early could be possible due to Rockruff's "secret" that the starters are also tied to, and said secret is what the next CoroCoro will be showcasing.

X/Y starter evolutions were revealed in September, so by that pattern, it would mean we get them for S/M sometime around mid-October. You could be right about Rockruff though. With next month's issue of CoroCoro having the Rockruff special, it could also well be tied to the starter evolutions.

The tweet says "According to you, what will Litten's, Rowlet's, and Popplio's evolutions look like in Pokémon Sun Moon ;)?"

the way they worded it though... if anyone googled "sun and moon starters" then the evolutions showed up, so people already have a guess at what they look like :p it's just kinda funny.

anyway i'm READY for these reveals

To be fair the first evolutions of the starters is bound to coming in the next two months before release. So it wouldn't be surprising if they started asking questions like that now.

That's an interesting tweet... I would say they are hinting at something. Rockruff is supposed to share a "secret" with the starters, and that secret is supposed to be revealed next month. I think it's possibly related. As for if we'll get info on the 1st, I'm surprised we haven't heard anything yet.

I don't expect more than a single new Pokémon reveal in this Nintendo Direct. It's embarrassing how minimally GameFreak capitalized on the massive marketing opportunity that was the World Championship preceding the Sun and Moon release when we were all expecting something big out of it. Before X and Y the Mega Kangaskhan reveal happened at Worlds. What a bummer.

This is interesting, I wonder what kind of SM info we may get if there is any? There was a video with Reggie a couple days ago showing off a new galaxy-patterned 3DS XL, and I thought how awesome that would be to play SM on it, because it would match thematically. Totally unrelated, but that's what this announcement made me think of.
