Game Corner Slots

i wonder how they would do it today if they dint have problems with the game corner being considered gambling, lol

i gotta be honest, i do have a lot of time, its just that.. im too timid i guess? probably the same reason why i still dint join the discord server depise being active on discord daily

thats cute, lol.

If they didn't have controversy with the Game Corner today, then hopefully they would just make you earn a bigger payout when you actually win games. Betting like 3 coins to play and then merely winning 3 coins in return just doesn't cut it. lol

There is no reason to be timid at all. Based on my experiences here, this is definitely a friendly community. Everybody would definitely appreciate your contributions to the forums. By the way, I wasn't aware of a Discord server here. That's interesting.

☺️

i guess it would be a cool way to get some pokemons with low encouter/catch rates like Riolu, Zorua, Eevee... the list goes on, so i guess it wouldnt be that bad nowadays lol

Yeah, i had a lovely time here so far, i guess its probably just overthinking on my part lol

Suprised you dint know there was one, it was very advertised on the Get together - i guess i can join it if you are going to join.

I never played the slots much and never managed to cash in on the prices. I think you could get Vulpix in Yellow for example?

However, I spammed the game corner music in Johto. Best tune.

I used to spend so much time on Voltorb Flip in HGSS. I would literally prefer to play mini games all day in order to progress the game instead of battling.

Did you ever accumulate a lot of coins when you played this games? I just sucked at practically everything it seemed and lost coins. I always had to purchase my coins.

makes me kinda sad that as much as i kinda miss the game corner, i actually barely played the slots themselves. like, i wouldn't spend a whole lot of time on them because i kinda sucked at them and wouldn't really get all 7's that often. xD

i played the slots wayyyyyy too much because i didn't realize you could just...spam-buy the coins. for some reason it never clicked in my brain that i could DO that so as a result i spent a lotttttt of time at those slot machines. sometimes i still pop over to the game corner in crystal and just spin the slots for a while, and honestly i'm not that bad at them! i'll get stuck there for hours though because i get caught in the loop of "just one more spin..." haha!

Remembers playing the slots a fair while in Generations 1 and/or 2. Cannot remember whether for Porygon or for Technical Machines. Recalls very poor money sources in Generation 1. Presumes similar for Generation 2. Likely favored the slots over money grinding for coins.

Heard about one machine being luckier than the others back then. Probably bounced between that one and one other.

Locking TMs (and even Pokémon) behind game corner prizes was an awful design choice. Forces you to waste time gambling and save-scumming to earn things that you can't obtain otherwise.

Honestly, I don't know why there aren't more things like USUM's Mantine Surf, fun and creative side-games to allow non-competitive players earn BP for in-game rewards.

I agree 100%! That at least added actual gameplay instead of spinning wheels until the RNG decided you won something.
