Welcome to this year's Get Together Pokemon Challenge! Some of you are probably play Challenges a lot, and some of you probably not at all. But either way, this should be something a little new for all of you. Most Challenges are performed by playing a Pokemon game from start to finish. Well, not this time! This week is way too short to ask most of you to try and play through an entire Pokemon game.

I guess we should start a little farther back. For those of you who don't know, a Challenge is a self imposed set of rules adhered to by a player of a Pokemon game, usually of the main series. This Challenge is a little different than usual, though. This Challenge is performed in the post game of a Pokemon game. This means that the game in question has had the credits roll already. That way no one who wants to play has to restart a game they've been playing a long time. So then, let's get to the rules! It's important to follow them all when playing in order to qualify for the completion emblem.

Feel free to ask any questions you have here, or you can contact either Necrum or Jak if need be. Updates can be as detailed and often as you like, but we ask that you make at least one post after the sign up to show that you are really doing the challenge. I have access to saves files that work with Pokemon Diamond Version, Pearl Version, Black Version, White Version, Black Version 2, and White Version 2 which are post game if you are able to emulate and have no access to a save file. Feel free to PM Necrum if you need them.

Rules

All Pokemon on your team must have been caught or hatched on or after July 6th, 2014. You may catch or hatch Pokemon for your team, but may not trade or hack them in. You may trade or import breeders, but may not hack them.

The Challenge is complete when you defeat the Elite 4 and Champion of your game's region. If you want a bigger challenge, you may choose to fight Red in Johto games, though this is not required.

Your team must consist of members who fill each of the roles, laid out in the next section, at the time you finish the Challenge. You may use any means to raise them except using Rare Candy.

When asked about your favorite color in the sign up, say mauve to confirm you read the rules.

Your Challenge must be completed on or before July 12th.

All Pokémon on this list are banned from use in this challenge: Banned Pokémon in Battle Maison

HM Slaves are permitted, but must not take place in any trainer battles.

Trading is permitted for the purpose of evolution.

Hacked ROMS are permitted.

He was #011!
Any Pokemon filling a Pokedex value of #011 may fill this slot. You may use the evolved version if the Pokemon in question is NFE.

Bitter Rivalry
This Pokemon should either be a Pokemon who has the ability Rivalry, a Pokemon with a "pair" (ie: Electivire vs Magmortar), or a version exclusive Pokemon in your selected game (ex. Spritzee in Y, Swirlix in X)

Harsh Weather
Some of us are experiencing a hot summer while others are having a cold winter! Any Pokemon who can invoke Sun, Rain, Hail, or Sandstorm whether by move or ability may fill this role. (Though we hope you're not stuck in an actual sand or hail storm.)

Hoenn Confirmed!
We wanted to commemorate the release of ORAS this year by including them in this challenge. Any Pokemon from the Hoenn Pokedex may fill this role. If you're playing on a Hoenn Game, this should be a Pokemon who isn't available until post game (like Metagross).

Unity
For this, you accept the favorite Pokemon of whomever signed up before them. I will be accepting Jak's favorite Pokemon and the next person to sign up will get mine. If the person's favorite Pokemon isn't available in your game, send them a message to find out what their favorite Pokemon within your game is. Only do this if you cannot get their favorite Pokemon in the game you sign up with!

Wild Card
This can be anything you want it to be! Use whatever Pokemon you've always wanted to use, or just use one you know is good. It's your choice.

Emblems
Emblems will be given to people who have either participated, or completed the Challenge.

Participation Emblem: This will be given to people who have made at least a Post to sign up and a post to show some progress.

Completion Emblem: This emblem will be given to those who have completed the Challenge.

Favorite Color: Mauve (that's actually one of my least favourite, come on now)

Early team plans:

Rivalry: Electivire sounds good (quick edit: reconsidering using Seviper for the Poison on Mega Gardevoir; this will open up the Wild Card slot, but might keep Lucario there)
Weather: ATM, an Egg Move Sneasel (I'll replace Beat Up with a TM; my moves are Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, and Fake Out); I may change this entry later
Hoenn: I'll study the E4 and pick one later; I'll start with an Absol for now as it gives me an excuse to Mega it and try it out changed already, going to try Meditite as I need a Psychic for the E4 member with Fighting type
Unity: Looks like Salamence; guess I get another Hoenn
Wild Card: Will decide this after E4 review also, but might use Lucario; I OHKOed Mega Gardevoir with a Poison Jab last time

I plan to hatch any Eggs right in the pathway leading to the E4. That way they see their goal, and, you know, it will mean something when they go through for the challenge one, two, or five days from now.

EDIT: I got my team COMPLETELY wrong; I was thinking of Unova's E4. This one is Steel, Fire, Dragon, and Water. I will probably reselect my team in the morning as Sneasel can be replaced with any Water type knowing Surf and Rain Dance. Dark type is useless, and Ice would be melted by Fire, so I need a Water type with Ice moves for the Dragon. I need a Fire type for the Steel member. This will be harder than I thought to pick a team. I'll keep Seviper meanwhile, and I have to use Salamence.
