Have you ever bought anything that was a total waste?

This thread is for all those times when you buy something that looks good at the time, but you then find out you wasted your money buying it.

My story is about the rubik's futuro cube. For those who don't know (aka everyone) it was a rubik's cube shaped games console thingy, that could detect its position in 3d space with a gyro, among other things.

I bought one, because I thought "wow, there's so much potential for games here."
Now, about a year later, there is literally NO SOFTWARE for the futuro cube. none. Zilch. Turns out I wasted my money on a games console that is entirely useless because nobody has made any games for it.

five textbooks this semester. 5 FRICKEN TEXTBOOKS, unused, still in the damn plastic.

$60 for a first year class, roughly $30 for two english books, $45 on the wrong edition of a book, $180 for a spanish book.. for the spanish book i should've just bought the access code because that's all i used.

Just imagine paying $600 for 2 books unused. Been there before. :(

yeah a few times but mostly with games that i lose interest in within a day or so. i've bought clothes that are the wrong size or whatever and although i end up returning them, it still feels like kinda wasted.

The Lomo'Instant Wide. Over £200 wasted on a useless brick of an instant camera.

I remember getting a camera for Christmas one year because I was interested in photography at the time. I never used the poor thing.

Literally all the fast food I've ever bought I regret so much.

Also, I know it doesn't count much but I must've wasted about $250 at this point simply in overage charges from my bank account where my direct deposit didn't hit when it was supposed to and bills were taken out before the money to take out was actually there. It pisses me off so much. I think one time it literally overdrew around 13 cents but I still got the $35 overage fee. I HATE THAT.

i own several games that i bought thinking i'd like it, or i should because its on sale, and have never played
