Are you partial to burial or cremation? Would you consider something crazier like cryonics or space burial?

I'm sure for a lot of people it's not so much about what you want (since you'll be dead), but maybe you've thought about the cost effectiveness of the options, how it'll affect your family, environment, etc.

Cremated or donated to science, probably the latter. Really have no interest in any sort of funeral or to be formally commemorated in any way. I'd rather just be scattered, thanks!

I'd probably want my remains donated to science too. Funerals are way too expensive and I'd much rather my body help with some kind of discovery!

i dont value any after-death ceremonies or requests because im dead.

my mom wants everyone to throw a party and have fun in place of a sad and depressing funeral as a way to remember her. tbh i kinda like that idea.

Put them in the ground, toss them in the furnace, donate them to science, idc. I'm dead.

When I die; I want to be buried. But I must be buried in feminine clothing, makeup and dress, and I want hearts to be tattooed on my cheeks.

I want to be buried in my home province, Nova Scotia.

I've always wanted to be cremated (most of my family have been) and especially since I watched Phantom Menace as a kid

Buried in cheap, coarse shroud in a wooden but unvarnished casket. The grave must have absolutely no additional paraphernalia beyond being just a hole in the ground. No headstones, no memorabilia, at best a makeshift bamboo fence to make sure foxes don't dig the corpse up- other than that just a nameless flat on the ground burial.

A big criticism I have of some burgers is how they add too much stuff to the meat patty, to the extent that at the end of the day all you taste are onions and herbs. Just season with salt, that would enhance and celebrate the intrinsic flavor of the beef itself, which is flavorful and has enough culinary significance on its own.

I personally think burial is a significant event in a person's existence, like their birth or wedding. The more materialistic you make these events, the more shiny bells and whistles you add- the more you take away from their intrinsic significance. These events are important and solemn enough to be performed as simply and cheaply as possible, unperturbed by any sort of additional adornment.

I always loved the idea of floating around in space but a girl can dream. Donate me to science, I'll be some first year med student's fun intro to anatomy.

Both my grandparents on my father's side have been cremated. My grandfather on my mom's side was buried. I dunno really, it's tough to have a preference since you'll be dead and stuff. I guess I'll choose cremation.

donation to science is the only way.

burials fuck the environment, and as much as I'd like to get cremated it's not as useful to people.

From what I recall from reading about this, there are limits on what science can do with your body and unless you arrange for something while you're still alive, or you saddle the work on your survivors, you'll probably end up in the county morgue and then get buried or cremated. Maybe you'll end up in an anatomy class for medical students. And only the young and healthy corpses can give their organs away.

Cremation is also really bad for the environment. Crematoriums have to run nonstop to keep the high temperatures needed. And you might get your ashes mixed up a little with other people's, if that's a concern for you or your loved ones.

I read about a process that was being developed where they freeze your body and then basically vibrate it a bunch until you shatter into lots of little pieces and then they take those and use them as fertilizer for a tree or something. If it ends up ever being a reality in the way they describe it would be much easier on the environment. That sounds like the way I'd want to go after I die.

I'm having someone preserve me & put me in a huge display case in my $2 billion mansion over the fireplace so I can look down on everyone and judge them for the rest of eternity.

I want my organs to be donated and then I wanna be cremated. I'm from Louisiana and it floods a lot, and with that the caskets can sometimes come up and float away. I just think that's really disgusting and don't wanna risk it happening to me.

I also wouldn't mind being donated to science first. My great great grandma donated her body to science and it was actually pretty useful because she had breast cancer but survived it and it eventually went away. Your body is more valuable to their research if you've gone through something like that.
