...what would you be like? Would you be a towering monstrosity, or an average-sized human figure, maybe with a few embellishments so people would take you seriously? What kind of weapon and attacks/spells would you use? Would you want to be a damage sponge, or have absurdly high defences/resistances to make up for an otherwise small health pool? How many different forms would you have? What would your theme be?

i cant wait for the replies that say they'd be the most broken boss ever with maxed out stats and moves that would one shot the player on contact with some gimmick-y weaknesses

.... because that sort of stuff is fun to read LOL

I'm the most broken boss ever with maxed out stats and moves that would one shot the player on contact with some gimmick-y weaknesses.

Obvious shitpost aside, I'd definetly be just human-sized, that's just my style, i ain't no giant ok :(
Weapon will most likely be a sniper rifle, once again to stay true to myself :P
Never do i want to be a bullet sponge, I will not become what I swore to destroy, I hate bullet sponges with a passion and they are no bueno.

or we could have a childrens card game where you just have to beat up cybernetic dragons, that could be me as a final boss too.

I'll be the final boss in those BS artificial difficulty kaizo hacks
    - 6 legendaries
    - 10 levels higher than your team even though you grinded every trainer in the region
    - double team, sand-attack, confuse ray, thunder wave

make me the supernatural human boss with a melee weapon. i'm way too hard to pin down and can dash across the entire arena in like 5 frames and do massive damage if you get hit with my attack. i also stagger the player on contact and then dash away so they cant retaliate. fuck em

I'm the most broken boss ever with maxed out stats and moves that-- Oh someone made that joke already.

I want my own mecha whose sole strategy is keeping its distance and shooting missiles. After the robot is destroyed you have to kill the pilot that is just some guy with a gun that runs away all the time and throws explosives.

I would be a strange boss.

I would tell a story about where "There would once be an old hermit considered a madman because of a routine he did daily, go into his garden, pluck a turnip and carry it to the woods where it would be dumped into a lake. For ages, the villagers though he was throwing away good food that his son thought he was out of his state of mind due to his age. The day came where the old man begged his son to carry on this insane tasks on his death bed, where he then passed on. His son never followed through." I would turn towards the protagonist and my eyes would twitch. "It was until about no less than a day, creatures from the forest erupted. Strange ones that consumed homes, livestock and even humans. It wasn't until the son fell back to his father's farm he discovered those creatures had avoided him and the turnip patch... It was then discovered that the turnips being grown we're used to keep the creatures away from his village... Though the information came at a time of naught for that the village had been consumed by the Eldritch beings. The only one who was standing in their way was someone who was deemed unhealthy, out of his state of mind, insane." I would draw my weapon, a spear made of some strange breakable glass, that was able to cut into the floor like butter. "The funny thing about that story, the reason I established my guild? I didn't do this to conquer the world, I didn't do this for power. For all I cared, the glory of power, conquest and women could rot and decay where it stood and my guild mates could chase their ideals until their well met ends where their greed would lead them. No; the reason I did this was because I was the son in that mad tale, I did all of this to protect and fight for what was left here at home... Well, that matters little now. Who will walk away from this and who wouldn't, I won't know... But at least promise me you won't hold back child and do not back away from what comes next."

I would have 3 phases. First phase would be a hard to fight warrior with heavy shield and a glass spear. No crazed weak points or moments to strike, the player would have to fight a hard battle and risk losing hp constantly to get past the first phase, using their brain to fight and keep alive. The second phase, I'd toss my main weapon and use my shield as my next weapon to bash and stun the player, use it's edge like a boomerang to cleave through armor while using my fists once the shield is gone.

My last form, I would shed the combat armor and weapons and start teleporting around the battle arena, using energy blasts, energy spears, using gravity and the battlefield to my advantage, creating 1-hit kill blackholes and destructive tactics to rip open holes in the ground for destructive pitfalls.

Once my last form is beaten, would lay on the battle field still grasping to life to allow the player to make a choice, finish me off, walk away and leave me for dead, or heal me for what comes next... My Last words would be as to finish the story; "The son sought out the survivors of his village, and began a conquest of duty to seek those creatures out to ensure they do not bring harm to anyone else. Even if it meant to loose themselves in the process."

Game design is one of my big passions; I've had time to think about this a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot.

I get all the abilities of the protagonists except I get enchantments they can't have.

    (Eg...Maze from Fable).

A big fuckin dragon. No extra forms, no gimmicks, no bullshit, it all comes down to if you have the strength and skill to beat me....if mortals can anyway.

The hard part is deciding what epic banger of a theme I'm going to have

I will never not appreciate a big fuckin' dragon.

I would be recurring boss that would pose as some kind of rival to the player. I wouldn't be 100% on evil side, mostly using it for my own goals. I would be regular human with a Wakizashi as a weapon of choice. If the game would have magic, then I would also use some kind of offensive magic that could be cast with one hand like cinders or some kind of Force push. I would be fast attacker with not that much health, but it would be hard to hit me and my attacks hard to parry. I would always try to get close to the player and attack them with a series of fast attacks, that could result in some kind of Bleed effect, occasionally using the magic. I would also probably randomly switch between regular and reverse grip just for the lulz.

Players would encounter me pretty early on, probably on the second level. This would be hard for them, as they wouldn't be really used to game mechanics yet. But to make it easier for them, this would be timed fight, where they have to survive for a 90 seconds before they are saved by their allies.

There would be several encounters with players during cutscenes in the next few levels, when they finally encounter me again in a ruin/temple where they would be looking for Macguffin. I would be there already and already acquired Macguffin, so they would have to fight me for it. I would use the same strategy as above and have the same stats, but it would be balanced battle this time. After I would get defeated, I would use the magic to escape.

Final battle would be right before the final level and this time I would use 2 Wakazashis, one in regular and one in reverse grip. I would also have better stats and be a lot faster. But the battle would be still mostly the same. I think that when my HP hits 25%, I would lose one weapon and continued with only one.

If I was a boss fight, I would be human sized with a Double Edged Scythe, and have three phases.
Phase One: Not that hard, Some basic combos inflicting slow and regen down, to encourage offensive play. Moderately fast battle theme, with big orchestral sounds and ominous vocals.
Phase Two: Enters at 50% health and goes on steroids. Gains 50% Attack and Speed Up and doubles defense, and gains a katana that is used in a reverse grip. Advanced combos and spells with openings you have to look for that are far in few. The music crescendos and the Latin chanting begins. Inflicts Def. down and has a move that locks out items.(Destati, Destati, destati....)
Phase Three: At 5% health, uses a desperation move with a ridiculous combo, and once it ends the music slows to a sad violin, as there is no more tricks to pull, and it becomes an losing fight for I.

Item Drops would be the Shadow-Breaker Scythe and a set of armor with high spell rez that looks awesome.
