I'm a little bit oshy.

Here's a new one for you:

In the poll I made in PGC asking people what they look for in Pokémon games, you said that Champions should be easy enough for younger players to handle, but still have at least one or two Pokémon that can provide a good challenge for the older audiences. I mentioned the other day in a thread I made in the Gen V forum about how any Champion can be easy or hard based on your coverage, but that said, of the four "infamous" Champions (Wallace, Alder, Iris and Diantha, five if you count Iris on Challenge Mode), how well do you think they do at fitting that level you mentioned?

I apologize for the super-late response to this, but here's what I think.

I think of the four Champions you mentioned, in the case of Iris she's quite strategic for a Champion given she has a Focus Sash on that Haxorus of hers which makes you have to do actual thinking to take it down. Alder, half his team are Bug-types and that's what can make him easy to beat given he's got some common weaknesses on his team (especially Rock and Fire) so that may be why some think he isn't as challenging, but his Volcarona can still be an issue if you are unprepared.

For Diantha, she can be either very easy or very hard based on what team you have, in fact I was grinding some Pokemon against her in the Battle Chateau yesterday and her Mega Gardevoir was so rough since the ones I was training either had weakness to its moves or low Sp. Defense (which is not good news given Gardevoir is a special attacker) but I did eventually pull through, even if it meant having to endure her sheer power while using a healing item. I know some criticize Diantha for being "too easy" but it's mainly Mega Gardevoir who can make her a challenge in some situations because Megas are well, overpowered.

The one that I think is the worst is Wallace, because his team is all full of Water-types but they do have enough type diversity so that the player can't always rely on Grass or Electric-types sweeping him. For example, he has half his team take neutral damage from Grass (Tentacruel, Gyarados, Ludicolo) while Whiscash is completely immune to Electric. On the subject of his Ludicolo, its Grass-type cancels out Water's two only major weaknesses meaning you may have to carry a Bug, Poison or Flying move to exploit its weakness. While his team is monotyped, he does at least have the diversity with the types so that it makes you have to use different types to take him down.

So, I think they do well at fitting the level, because while their teams may look bad they do at least have some way to ensure they can still be a challenge under certain situations and depending on the teams you have.

What are your planned teams for ORAS?

Will you be using Castform at any point?

What is your favorite Mega Evo revealed so far?

If you ever decide to change names again, what are your options?

Is there any significance in using "hikamaru" as your forum username?

Besides it sounding cute and awesome.

Well, it's not final yet but I do plan to include some shout-outs to my original team from Ruby. The starter is definitely a certainty, and I may actually try to reset for a female Mudkip again (I'm sure you heard it in my VMs to you) so I can replicate the one I had in the originals. Having a Grass-type and an Electric-type will also be essential due to half of Hoenn literally being water. Don't be surprised if I use a lot of Megas though, especially a Mega Gardevoir so I can rival Wally's Mega Gallade.

Castform? Maybe, or maybe not. But I do want to see it in action in the new 3D graphics.

My fave OR/AS Mega so far has to be a tie between Altaria, Gallade, Lopunny, Swampert, Diancie, Slowbro and Audino. I love the designs of them, that's all and all seem to have some nice things going for them.

As for names I would change to, here's ones I love right now:
  • Ottaro - Oshawott's German name. It's still a cute name.
  • Endolise - I saw someone with this name on Serebii, and it looks beautiful
  • Dawn Reverie - I took inspirations from Amanda's username, and well Dawn is a beautiful word.
  • Admurai - Samurott's German name.
  • oshyhikari - My Tumblr URL. Simple as.

Well, Oshawott is my fave Pokemon and its Japanese name is Mijumaru which is where the second half of the username comes from. And Hika is a nickname I get called here. In fact I started using this name as early as a year ago, on the battle server and when name changes were announced to be returning I wanted to use the name here and be consistent with the server.

And I think it's a really cute name, and I do love cute-sounding names.

Hi Nichole! A few questions for you. :3

Do you play any sports? Do you see yourself as good in any of them?

What do you look for in a friend?

Which countries have you traveled to, if any? Are there any that you would love to visit in the future?

I'm not really that much of a sporty girl. Although I was quite a fast runner back in the day so yeah I did have some sporting blood in me there, and I think I still have the speed which has been essential to me when I was trying to catch buses.

What I look for in a friend is someone who cares for you and shares common interests. Pretty simple I guess.

I have never traveled overseas at all, most likely because I have a fear of flying. I would so have wanted to visit Japan though because that's the capital of not just Pokemon but everything cute.

Well then, here's one for you:

You've mentioned before (if i'm not mistaken) that rap is your least favorite genre. Is Eminem your favorite rapper? Because Matt (El/Dracul/whatever you want to call him) said in a thread I made in C&M that he considers Em the greatest rapper of our generation because he actually raps about serious stuff compared to a majority of others.

(Also, kinda funny that i'm posting this on his birthday in EST/CST time, haha.)

Eminem is alright, but there have been some songs of his that I got sick of really easy. A notable one being The Monster where he collab'd with Rihanna, main reason was due to overplaying. On a side note I'm into his really old stuff much better, probably because lately he's been collab'ing with singers who I've found very meh.

What are your thoughts on anti-jokes?

Also, if you could have only six Pokemon to join you in your quest across the Pokemon world for glory (or villainy, whatever floats your boat), what six Pokemon would you choose?

Lastly, how do you feel about Fairy-types?

I can't recall what anti-jokes are, but I do crack up at humor a lot because I have a naturally big laugh.

Oshawott, duh. Because you know who I am. Also, I'd have an Azumarill, Vaporeon, Sylveon, Emolga and Gardevoir. Basically a lot of cute-looking stuff due to my fetish for cute things in general.

Given I own PC's Fairy-type club (I took over from its previous owner Dustin a.k.a. Jellicent♀) I can definitely say I love those cuties. In fact, Fairy jumped to my second fave type, just behind Water. Main reasons why was because I think they did a good job for me on my in-game run through X where I had a really cool Sylveon. Also, they counter some of the strongest types which makes them very handy to use.

Hey, I'm gonna bring this back. :P

What's your favorite Foster the People song? I've listened to them a lot today so, now I'm curious. "Waste" is becoming one of my favorites. :)

I am like so late to responding to this... got caught up in all the OR/AS hype again.

Anyways, I have to admit Waste is a personal fave of mine as well. Other notable ones I love are Call It What You Want, The Truth, Ask Yourself, Coming Of Age, Pseudologia Fantastica, Are You What You Want To Be and the old fave Pumped Up Kicks. Pseudologia Fantastica in particular has a very strong message in the lyrics, and the fact I'm someone who's often fearing the scene of reality it has a deep emotional connection to me.

As you can tell by what I've mentioned, it seems like Supermodel has outnumbered Torches in terms of the albums with the most songs I love. There's just something more polished I find with the former.

And while not necessarily part of the answer, I don't like that Mark Foster dyed his hair blonde... it's not a good look for him imo

What do you think you haven't bcome a mod yet?

This is an interesting one, because I know a lot of members who actively follow me around say things like "Hika y u no mod yet" but I guess maybe I could have gotten off to a rocky start on this community and then greatly improved over time.

I know this year has been the best my activity has been, I'm now posting more quality posts, getting myself more involved in a few places and maybe that's what many see in a staff member and they think I give off that impression.

Maybe they're just taking a while to eventually notice it, I guess.

You said that part of the reason you're not much a fan of Bruno Mars is because most of his hits tended to get overplayed. What makes Uptown Funk different for you? Do you think it will fall a victim of overexposure like his previous hits?

Of the top ten songs from the 2014 Year-End Hot 100 (in order: Happy, Dark Horse, All of Me, Fancy, Counting Stars, Talk Dirty, Rude, All About That Bass, Problem, and Stay With Me), which was your favorite?

Between Marriland's Black Wedlocke and Black 2 Wedlocke, to you which had a more intense series of final battles?

Ohohohoh!!

I got one: What are your goals for 2015? :3

maybe wrestle a giiiant alligator? cause hey, I'll join you on that!

Not many in real life as far as I'm concerned, but I really want to try and overcome my anti-social issues which is kinda hard when you have a family that always turns against you. I feel like every time my brother bullies me it fills me with self-doubt and I want to get some assistance to try and "beat the bully".

On PC, I think it's focusing on my main sections activity-wise, and maybe use my blog more often.

I kinda liked Uptown Funk due to the catchy lyrics you can't help but sing along to, but I have a gut feeling it's going to fall to overexposure and as far as one should know, overplay factor can determine into what makes or breaks a song for me.

The only one of those you mentioned I really liked was All Of Me by John Legend. I don't know why, but I kinda liked the emotion in this song. Happy by Pharrell Williams comes close, if not for the catchy dances in the music video. Aside from that, most 2014 charters really did not suit my taste at all.

I think it was Black 2, especially when he lost Capoeira the Conkeldurr and Rumba the Drapion to successive Fire Blasts from Shauntal's Choice Scarf Chandelure. What made their losses more jarring was that they would have been the perfect pair for the battle against Iris, but Devin was left with a not-completely-full team and as a result had to be more crafty against her, with it ending in the sacrifices of Gangnam Style the Floatzel and Volta the Galvantula. Seriously, you have to admit I wasn't expecting Shauntal to be so tough with little effort and eliminate his longest-surviving team member.

But that's not to say Black was not as intense. I think it was cool to see him getting all crafty with Turkey the Garbodor, who he was forced to replace Aquilavus the Carracosta (who died against a trainer's Accelgor) solely due to the other available males at the time having terrible natures. But I think Turkey's performance gave me a whole new look on Garbodor in general.

What was your favorite Pokemon before Oshawott? What does "oshy" mean in your title?

What do you like to do when you're not on your computer?

I was sure someone already asked that question... oh well, but yeah I admit Pikachu was once my fave Pokemon because I kinda fell in love with the cutie and I had a Pikachu plushie when I was younger.

The "oshy" in this title? Well it means Oshawott hahahaha.

I usually like to often watch TV, but I also spend extra time just well sitting here. Yeah I don't do a lot because my anti-social issues often make me want to remain away from the outside world.
