Yes it is true, there's an event in Japan that will be distributing all three starters with their Hidden Abilities:

It has been announced that there will be several special distributions of the Unova Starters in Japan. These distributions are unique in that they offer these starters with their Hidden Abilities. They will be distributed through Serial Code. On December 28th, a code for Serperior with Contrary will be given on Pokémon Get☆TV and can be redeemed from January 9th to November 30th. This Serperior has the moves Leaf Storm, Hold Back, Wring Out & Giga Drain. On January 11th 2015, a Emboar with Reckless will also get a code from Pokémon Get☆TV, which can be redeemed from January 16th to November 30th. It has the moves Flare Blitz, Hold Back, Head Smash & Take Down. Finally, on January 15th 2015, the new issue of CoroCoro will have a serial code for Samurott with its Hidden Ability of Shell Armor and can be redeemed from January 16th to November 30th. It has the moves Razor Shell, Hold Back, Confide & Hydro Pump
So if it's Japanese only, I can only assume that the rest of the world can't hand in that codes since the 3DS is region locked? Or can we look up Pokémon Get☆ TV and enter the codes ourselves as well?

Unless you want the specific Snivy being handed out, it doesn't really matter since people can simply breed the snivy they get from the code and then trade them to those in countries that can't use the codes and so on

Because I certainly don't know anyone so I can already see my odds of getting one are rather small, unless some generous chap Wonder Trades one.

I've given it like thirty hours and none of my secret base stuff has reset, and I can't send things from the demo yet either. It's really putting a damper on the experience. If there isn't a solution you guys can think of is there a customer service I can use?

I'm in the Amsterdam/Berlin/Paris timezone (never sure on the abbreviated version). Shoot me a personal message if you're ready, if I don't reply within 15 minutes then let's pick another day (since it's my mother's birthday today I may or may not be here), does that sound good?
So I've been doing the secret base stuff for a while now without any issues. But just within the list couple days it's like the fact that the date and time roll forward on my 3ds doesn't matter . I can't collect flags or use my pals skills, the demo version won't let me transfer rewards to my full game. All the npcs just keep telling me to come back tomorrow. Even when I connect to the Internet in game and get a bunch of new passerbys it won't update which mirage spots and secret bases I can go to. Getting really frustrated, anybody know how I can fix this?
Hi! I have the same problem as Motley but with a different cause. I stuck my OR cartridge into a friend's 3DS to trade with my X (twice in 2 days). I didn't realise it'll mess with the game's system. Now my secret bases and mirage islands won't update, and it is definitely over 30 hours since this happened. I agree that it puts a damper on the experience and is extremely frustrating. I don't want to restart my game as I took a long time to complete to where I am now, so I'm really hoping someone here knows how to fix this issue. ><

That was exactly my intention, but on the topic of this thread: in the Mirage Cave near Fallarbor there's a TM pokeball on the ground, you can access it by using BOTH the Acro Bike and Mach Bike. How the heck do you get there, since as far as I can recall you can only have one of each?

My suggestion would be to try both using the Internet and connect and going 24 full hours without. Also I made the mistake of not hitting the update button on the news app with the dexnav. If you don't manually update the bases and mirage spots don't ever mix in.

You can actually have both bikes at the same time in the game. You have to show the Mach Bike to a Hex Maniac near the desert on Route 111, show the Acro Bike to a Bird Keeper on Route 119 (you also need Waterfall), and then finally show either bike to a Triathlete in....I believe it's the Battle Resort. Once you've done that go to Rydel and he'll give you the other bike, so you'll have both bikes.

Yes, you can do normal trading between both games. The only thing that's restricted is trading OR/AS-exclusive items (such as certain Mega Stones) to X/Y. But anything else can be traded to and from both X/Y and OR/AS with ease.
