Any Pokemon can be used competitively. It's up to the player which Pokemon they want to use. If you're asking whether or not Onix is viable in OU in the ORAS metagame, it is not. Competitive Pokemon-based questions are better suited for the Battling and Team Building's Q&A thread found here.
You don't need a badge before trading in this generation since trades are conducted via the PSS which can be accessed at any time. You first gain access to the PlayNav feature which includes the PSS after the first encounter with Wally in Petalburg City, after said character catches his Ralts.
Quick question about the eon ticket, not sure if any of you would know the answer or not... But I heard that you can just get the eon ticket if their is someone nearby who has it. I'm driving down to my cousins house who has the ticket this weekend. Would all I have to do is connect to wifi (I'm guessing) and I would receive it? Not sure what the actual requirements would be...

You need to activate your StreetPass function on your 3DS system and I guess your cousin will have to active theirs as well. Regarding the type of connection, i have no idea O.o
Now a quick question, if i delete the game save data will I be able to receive a Shiny Beldum again?
Assuming you do so before the event ends on January 14th, you will be able to download another shiny Beldum.

You get it by connecting to the Internet and using the Mystery Gift function at the starting screen. You have till Thursday to get it though.

You can still get the shiny Beldum event; you just won't have much time to get it. So go to Mystery Gift as soon as you can before Thursday.
So.. I don't need to have bought the game at the start? (bought last week...)

That's correct. As long as you bought the game any time before the 15th, you're good to download the Beldum event from Mystery Gift.
Has anyone else tried entering the download code for Serperior with Contrary and had no luck? It's supposed to be POKEMON497, and then the game fills in the rest of the spaces in the code with nulls after.
I get the message "The gift was not there..."

The Unova starter event is currently limited to Japan. However, some people who have received the Serperior event are kind enough to breed the Serperior and release the offspring on Wonder Trade or GTS. So try your luck in either of these places.

I'd like to delete my save file in OR and start the game over, but before I do, I need to know: will it also erase the Eon ticket I got from Streetpass?
