itt do your irl friends know anything about what you do online

asking bc maccrash told me he proudly said to all his irl friends that he was a moderator on a pokemon forum and i shit myself

Depends. They know who I am on most sites I visit, but my PokeCommunity username is different from all my other screen names, and I don't think they even really know about this forum.

I tend to keep some secrets from them, like this account. Mostly just so I have some kind of disconnect from them.

They know I post at sherdog's forums, we use some terminology from there in real life conversations.

Depends on the friend, some know more than others. Pretty much all of them know I have friends in different cities that I met online. Others know about PC & some of the people I talk to because I'll occasionally reference them. I can say though, none of my friends has ever cared about what I do online and a lot of them think it's really cool that I have places to stay & people to see in really cool cities :)

My friends know that I play Pokémon on the internet to kill time during class, and that's pretty much all that I'll ever let them in on. Being a battle server moderator of a Pokémon forum isn't really the most glamorous title x_x

There are people who know I'm staff on a website, that I write with/talk to people on the internet and a couple who know I'm interested in anime and/or Pokemon. So to a degree people know about my online activities. They do not know where they take place, to the degree they do and how unhealthily passionate I am about said activities. I would like to keep it that way.

OKAY. CLARIFICATION: I TOLD TWO OF MY BEST FRIENDS. I DID NOT TELL ALL OF THEM. but yeah. those two know.

I don't hide the fact that I am on a Pokemon forum. But I don't say my username nor the website in particular. I don't want them to read me lol.

Those that I'm close to in real life have an idea of what I do online, but they've never asked for specifics. If they did, I wouldn't hesitate to tell them. My gaming hobby and my online life is nothing that I'm ashamed of.

Hell no. They'll discover all my lewd quotes.

...I mean, what lewd quotes? You didn't see that confession from me.

My friends/roommates know I post on a pokemon forum, but they don't know which one. Mostly because they aren't into it so they could care less. The rest of what I do online isn't much of a secret since it consists of checking news about whatever and watching youtube. Really the only thing they aren't aware of would be what type of porn I watch online.

When I go online, I mostly listen to music and look for work as an extra in short films. I'm not on forums as much now, as there is not much to do. And I think Facebook took over the online communities. Before social media existed, people used chatrooms, and then message boards introduced a wider appeal for discussions, but now with Facebook, people are on that more.

Personally, I'm not a massive lover of Facebook, Twitter and all that. Meetup is better, and I guess Facebook would be more productive if I actually met up with people from there. Most of the 'friends' I have on there are related to a zombie film, so I have yet to meet them. It's unlikely I will meet any or many of them either, because certain ones already were in the film in other parts of the UK.

I've finally started coming out with the fact that I hang around "forums" but not what kind. So far I've met only acceptance and shrugs, except for from one friend. Kind of misjudged that person, who even judges someone for what kind of websites they enjoy ._.
